We loved our stay at Mammoth Creek Inn! We came down as a group of 4 friends wanting to ski in Mammoth for the weekend from Tahoe. We booked relatively last minute, and were extremely pleased by how friendly and helpful the management was. Once we checked in, the staff was actually able to upgrade us to a larger room much more suited for 4 people. We highly enjoyed the hot tub and spa area after a long day of skiing. The property is cute and well kept-we loved hanging out inside in the pool room as well. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
Made this an overnight stop on our way from Vegas to Yosemite via Tioga Pass. Our concerns staying here were based on reviews here saying it was old, creaky, and noise between rooms. I think these are unfounded and this place is worth your money. Yes, the hotel is in an older building, but the owners have done a good job keeping it clean and comfortable. My advice if you are a light sleeper is to request a second-floor room, because the floors are most definitely creaky. The bed was super comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was awesome. The room was clean and spacious enough for 2 people. The check-in person was very nice as well. I'd stay here again when I come back to Mammoth.
Convenient location but far from the major street so nice and quiet in the evenings. Good WiFi connection. Clean room and bedroom. No major issues. I would stay in this place again next time. If you like to stay near downtown Mammath Lake for shopping and dining convenience but prefer a quieter place, this is an excellent choice. The only thing I would suggest to make improvement is the shower temperature. It was "warm," not "hot" enough. In summer season is manageable, but in winter season, it may not be hot enough.
We wanted to take the kids to the snow and Mammoth sounded like the ideal spot as it is only a couple of hours drive from us. We were looking for a pet friendly place and, after searching several sites and calling different places, decided to call the Mammoth Creek Inn. Leanna was efficient and friendly and offered to book the room right there and then. Very affordable considering it was the week before Thanksgiving. Hotel is a little old but is situated in a perfect location. Rooms are small but the bed was comfortable. Lobby area is cute, nothing fancy but we enjoyed playing cards and games by the fireplace. If you are in one of the rooms on the first floor you’ll be able to hear the steps from the room above. Due to Covid, the rooms don’t get cleaned during your stay but they are pretty good at restocking anything upon request. Overall a good stay for the price.…
First time staying at the Mammoth Creek Inn and it won’t be our last! It’s conveniently located to restaurants and shopping and there’s a park right across the street with a playground if you are traveling with the kids. Staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, roomy and the beds were comfortable. It’s an older hotel but it’s not rundown. Rates are reasonable and they have a nice lobby with a fireplace and comfy chairs to relax in. We highly recommend the Mammoth Creek Inn when you stay in Mammoth!
Justin at the front desk was able to accommodate my requests and also provided tips while staying here. Enjoyed the room and convenience to the lifts. Hot tubs were nice as well. Would def come back!!
I returned to the Mammoth Creek Inn after several years and found it as wonderful as before. It faces open land and the mountains, which provide striking companionship all day -- and then, on a clear night, once can see the stars. It is big enough to have a spa, a warm living room (with fire), and more. The breakfast is excellent. Try the combination of oatmeal with cinnamon and lots of raisins. But is is small and intimate as well. The staff are not bored bureaucrats following a formula complete with uniformed smiles. They have diverse personalities. They are real. And they are warm and helpful. Kate Jones, while helping me with a computer challenge, discovered that we have a shared interest in Brazil. There is construction next door; but, except for somehow creating parking problems, it had almost not impact on my visit. This is a great place.…
Went up to the Mammoth area for a few days to go fishing and sightseeing, deciding to stay at the Mammoth Creek Inn. Older property feels like it was built in the '70s and renovated in the near past. Good rate for the area, but you do get stuck with the $20+ per day "resort fee." Would not call the place a resort, spa, or any other adjective indicative of something more than an average motel. Staff was friendly enough. Good central location and within walking distance to Mammoth Creek, restaurants, stores, etc. However, the property was not well maintained. The smoke detector was missing on the room, a fact that I mentioned to the desk clerk who wrote down the safety issue, but it was not replaced in the time we were there. The rest of the room was OK, but there was no attention to maintenance detail. Also, the housekeeper should not leave the first floor windows wide open after cleaning when the room is occupied, as this could be a security issue when items are left in the room. Since this in an older structure, ask for a second floor room or deal with the herd of elephants above you. The continental breakfast is average (cereal, bread, packaged pastries, etc.) and essentially served in the basement. The flooring in the breakfast room is old, dirty carpet that badly needs replacement. A new building is being constructed next door, so the parking lot is shared with contractors.…
Look no further for a great place to stay!!! especially when traveling with a pet or not...I’ll be coming back with my husband! Friendly knowledgeable staff, clean room with well stocked kitchenette etc. Trail head is right outside with a creek & beautiful vistas!
Booked this hotel last minute. Great room for the price. Breakfast offered lot of options and staff was very friendly. More of a basic lodge and no a/c which is common anywhere in the Sierra’s. We will definitely be back.
