Let's start with the good: The lodge is located in the heart of town, right near the main street/shops/restaurant and just across the street from Mammoth Brewery. There's a nice breakfast buffet with cold options available. The bad: The lodge is older, which would be fine if it had been updated. Guests should be aware that there are stairs to... More

I'd stayed in Mammoth before and fully enjoyed it. Things have changed since then and a new village area has built up opposite the Alpenhof with new shops, restaurants and bars. All was looking good! The Alpenhof itself is an imposing large Bavarian hunting lodge style building. I was quite excited to be staying here, it looks fantastic. On arrival... More

We stayed one night when there for Bluesapalooza, and annual music and beer festival, and the room was clean and comfortable. The night was warm, but the room provided a fan. The hotel is centrally located to many shops and restaurants. Another reviewer noted the outdated bathrooms, and while the fixtures could be updated, we had no complaints. The only... More

Picturesque and pleasant lodge in the heart of Mammoth Lakes. Our room was spacious and clean and it was nice to spend some time in the pool and hot tub. Upon check-in, staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was basic but this wouldn't put is off staying here again. Hopefully we can return one day.

Nice big bed and a good sized room. Location for restaurants etc is good too. Reception is friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. It did not matter that there was no air con. Parking was easy and there is a safe in the room. I would stay elsewhere next time though. The bathroom is tired and there is... More

We spent one night at the Alpenhof Lodge and wish we would have stayed longer - both at the hotel and in Mammoth Lakes! The room was good and beds comfortable, the bathroom a bit dated but fine Small pool that the kids enjoyed Great location of the hotel with the Village across the street, where we really enjoyed to... We first stumbled across this place in the summer when visiting Mammoth Lakes. It was so good that we returned in the winter for a ski holiday. The rooms worked perfectly -we had two queen beds in one room but there was plenty of space for 4 adults and all our ski gear. The location was so convenient and the... More

The Alpenhof is a comfortable and unpretentious place to stay across from the upscale village development in Mammoth. Service is good. The prices are in line with Mammoth, but are high enough that I can't say it delivers 4 star value. The rooms are generously sized. Ours had two queen beds, with good mattresses and linens. One of our rooms... More

Be prepared- no AC, but staff was great. Cute hotel, best location! Location, location, location! Plenty of dining options in walking distance. Free breakfast, we only drank coffee and ate bananas. Wifi was good- we streamed Netflix Not 4 star hotel- but did everything we needed. Would stay here again

I really liked staying here. The staff is very friendly and explains everything very well. There are free hot chocolate, tea, water and cookies in the lobby. The breakfast is included and is very good and fresh. The only disadvantage of the room is the shower, it is placed very low. If you want to wash your hair properly, you... More
