Situated at the base of the mountain just across from the ski area's Main Lodge, the historic Mammoth Mountain Inn offers stunning views, ski-in, ski-out convenience, and proximate access to Mammoth's best mountainside activities and attractions year-round. Just a short drive into town, Mammoth Mountain Inn is located next to the Adventure Center, Yodler Bar & Restaurant, Mammoth Mountain Bike Park, Panorama Scenic Gondola rides, and the Reds Meadow/Devils Postpile National Park shuttle. Our mountain resort is located above 8,000 feet and we historically experience mild summer temperatures. Because of our cool summers, our hotel and rooms are not equipped with air conditioning. Dogs are welcome in select rooms for an additional fee. Enjoy your stay in Mammoth Lakes!

Absolutely LOVED our stay. The service was impeccable and the staff was incredibly nice.
As far as skiing/boarding, the Inn is steps from the lift and having a ski valet, ski rentals, and lift passes all in lobby was incredibly convenient.
Can’t wait to return!!!
Especially want to thank Tom the Manager and Rigo at the Front Desk.

The best thing about the Mammoth Mountain Inn is its location, it's located right next to the slope, you can walk from your room to the lift in a few minutes, if you have been to Mammoth, you know that the parking can be pretty bad, unless you go in really early in the morning, you either have to walk a long way carrying your equipment, or you have to take the bus, so it's great to stay in this hotel, as you can be on your bed relaxing 5 minutes after you get off the slope.

The room we stayed in (one Queen bed) is nothing to write home about, it's pretty basic, you have the bed, a small fridge, and the restroom.. There are no sofas, no kitchenette, and the size is fairly small, we have 2 adults and 1 kid, and there aren't room for even a rollup bed, so keep that in mind, and we'll definitely opt for a larger room next time.

The location is great for skiing, however, it's some distance away from town, so if you want to go into town for food or shopping, it will take about 15 minutes driving, although the hotel does provide a free shuttle to take you right outside the Village at mammoth, so if you don't want to drive, there are still options. Since there aren't really much dining options near the hotel, the restaurant in the hotel is way overpriced, and there are no free breakfast, so I would recommend that you bring in something for breakfast.

Dear JamesLiu6026, Thank you for providing such a thorough review of your stay here at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. As you experienced first hand, we are a true ski in ski out lodge, with numerous lifts just steps away from our front doors. We offer over a dozen different rooms types, with a wide array of offerings that we can tailor to all of our guests, regardless of the season. We not only offer complimentary evening shuttle service into town, but there is complimentary transportation into the village during the daytime as well. Along with our restaurant located here in our hotel, we also have two restaurants within walking distance as well. We thank you again, and hope to see you again in the near future. Derek Barker

My son and I recently stayed here and really enjoyed our visit. The things that matter most to me when on a mini- vacay are cleanliness of the room & bathroom, comfort of the bed, quiet at night for good sleeping, and the customer service being provided. All of these areas were excellent during our stay. The hotel is older, so if you are seeking a 5-star ritzy experience, this may not be the pick for you. But if you're someone who is seeking great location, helpful service, a comfy bed in a cozy room etc... you'll be happy here! They have DVD's for checkout at the front desk, a small but clean/heated pool, a general store near the lobby.. and lots of restaurants/shops just down the hill. *All staff & guests wore masks (for Covid protection) and you could see they were actively cleaning the hotel throughout our stay. Thank you to the very helpful staff!

This is our second time at the inn and we still love it. The check in experience was really good, we arrived late at night and were welcomed by friendly staff that promptly made sure we had everything we needed. We were offered an upgrade to a one bedroom apartment with loft which made the stay even better.
The apartment has been beautifully renovated (the one we stayed in January was quite tired and in need of some TLC) and the kitchen though small (it has two electric burners, a microwave, half size fridge, dishwasher) is very practical and fitted with small appliances. If you need anything extra the staff will make every effort to bring it to you. The apartment was very comfortable for all 5 of us for the 3 nights we stayed. During COVID restrictions the cleaning service is not running so you will need to tidy up, run the dishwasher, make beds, etc...
Our room did not have a fireplace but they have plenty of heating and in the reception of the inn you can enjoy the huge fireplace and their comfortable sofas (during COVID we tried to avoid the indoor areas as much as possible but whenever we were indoors we felt very safe, since everyone wears masks and there is limits on occupancy on all spaces, some services from the inn we did not need but were closed due to local regulations such as the gym, game room, indoor dining (evenings) and jacuzzi).
Being right on the mountain meant that we could come back to the apartment for lunch and rest in the middle of the day and avoid crowds, perfect in this pandemic time.
The ability to get your lift tickets and rentals (should you need them) right at the inn make a big difference too and reduce the stress getting ready for the slopes. Also, leaving your skis with the valet is a nice perk that helps specially if you have young ones in your group that would otherwise need help bringing their equipment.
In general Mammoth Mountain is doing a great job trying to maintain COVID safety measures across the mountain, maintaining 6 feet distance between guests in lines, etc and enforcing mask wearing at all times when indoors and in line for the lifts.
We will definitely stay again at the inn, our second experience here has been even better than the first, hope they are able to complete all renovations to the same level as the one we stayed this time.
Great staff, great experience!

We were on a road trip and spent 2 nights at the Mammoth Mt Inn. Great location with a view of Mammoth Mt and the trams and gondolas. We chose a reservation that included 2 tickets for the gondolas. Easy unloading with free parking. Very welcoming, beautiful lobby. The front desk staff were great! So helpful and conscientious. These were the high points along with the bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. The property felt almost empty, bar and restaurant closed. Reason was COVID, however we had the feeling it was more because of off season. The store/coffee shop was open 2 hours in the am and 2 hours in the pm. The wing in which we stayed felt like a long grey hospital ward. The room is outdated and cramped. In the one plug on the wall you could get to was plugged in the TV, mini frig, lamp, DVD player and you were supposed to use it for the coffee maker in the morning. I was worried to overload the plug we made the coffee on one of the night stands. The plug at the sink did not work. No AC or ceiling fan, a box fan was provided. We had a sliding door onto the (shared with the whole wing) balcony. The door was so hard to open it took all of my husbands strength to get it open. There were just a few chairs strewn about on the long balcony plus a couple of discarded beer bottles from past guests. The bathroom was so small, toilet and tub. We had to open the door to the bathroom in order to dry off. The property has installed tile in the tub area and in front of the vanity area which is in the room, next to the bed. So many cracked and broken tiles in such a small area! They moved as you stepped on them. I don't get why they haven't replaced at least the ones in the tub area. For our family this hotel was a splurge. We expected a step up. They even charged us a resort fee! Why? What resort? Yes, one of their pools was open, but you had to go down a long corridor, outside across a driveway, into an underground parking structure up an elevator to find it. It was creepy. We loved the gondola ride and sitting on the balcony but overall Mammoth Mt Inn, it's hallways, sliding doors and rooms deserve an upgrade. Great location, poor value.

DearGiGigirl10, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with such a thorough response, it is greatly appreciated, and we will be sure to utilize your suggestions to improve our guests experience. With day time temperatures rarely breaking 75 degrees here at 9000 feet, and lows in the 40's at night, A/C is very uncommon in Mammoth Lakes. Our resort fee covers parking (normally 30/day) and our other amenities; in room coffee and tea, high speed WiFi, pool, free local phone calls, etc. It is great to hear that your enjoyed your gondola ride, and found our property to be conveniently located. We thank you again, and hope that you had a splendid trip. Derek Barker

The Mammoth Mountain Inn is our first choice for a ski trip to Mammoth Mountain. Its location could not be more perfect as it is mere feet from Chair 1. The Inn is very comfortable, and the staff is excellent. Derek Barker is my go-to at the Inn, and he makes sure to get me the best room available, and helps with any special requests my family might have. We've stayed at the Inn at least a half dozen times, from the larger two bedroom units, to the king/queen loft rooms. They seem to have something for everyone, whether it's a small family, or a larger group. One amenity to note is the ski valet in the lobby. Again, the staff manning this service could not be nicer or more helpful. Weston in particular has treated our family so well, and is a pleasure to speak with. The bonus of having your skis at the ready is an incredible luxury. The Mammoth Mountain Inn definitely makes a ski trip to the mountain a breeze, and I highly recommend it to anyone heading up to one of the best ski resorts in the country.

Want to thank Dena for her help in advance of our trip when I lost the rate online that I was attempting to book and she helped me get it back - requiring several conversations and emails. She seemed to really care that it worked out for me and I appreciated it. That goes for the staff in general who were really friendly (love the guy staffing the "Valet" who checked in skis and equipment each evening).
Cannot beat the ski in and out situation at MMI. However, we paid a small fortune to stay there at the facilities really are worn out. Our room smelled so strongly of chinese food that no amount of Febreze could make it better. Tough downside when one spends all that money.
Again, on the flip side, I could not believe it when I returned to our room after skiing and they had done our breakfast dishes - that made it a real vacation and was why it gets four stars instead of three.
Would i come back? Probably!

Dear Quest400898, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay here at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. It is a great pleasure to read that Dena was able to get you your quoted rate; shes an all star that we will be recognizing during our next staff meeting. During the past few years, we have been making many upgrades to our facilities, with the upgrades continuing well into the future. We have replaced furniture, drapes, and carpet, just to name a few. We try to make all of our guests feel at home, and it is of no surprise that you found your room in great shape after a day on the slopes. We thank you again, and are looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. Derek Barker

This hotel is in a great location for skiing - walkable to main lodge and the gondola. Parking is included at the hotel so it's a perfect place to stay if you want to hit the mountain. We needed a 2 bedded room and only king rooms are offered in the main lodge, so we stayed in another wing that was not connected to the main hotel. The room was clean, the beds comfortable. It had a fridge. The bathroom worked, shower was nice and hot. The bathroom itself was a little worn, but it was clean which is all that really matters. They have breakfast at the hotel as well as dinner (we didn't use either service) but did use the onsite little market for a breakfast burrito and coffee. The hotel sells ski tickets (full price) as well as offers ski rentals and a ski valet. I'd definitely stay here again.

We drove up during one of the worst blizzard last week in CA and even though we missed the cancellation policy for MMI, Pablo and Justin, made an exception for us family of 4. The roads were closed up to Mammoth and they could have stuck to their rules and charged us nights that we couldn't use as we were stuck in Bishop. Instead, they made it flexible and the stressful situation with blizzard and finding a hotel last minute with young kids, STRESS FREE (pretty amazing feat.) We had no idea when the roads will open and I cannot thank Pablo's encouragement and advise on what to do. In this time of pandemic, luxury is over-rated, but convenience and customer service will bring everyone back. MMI has opened with friendly faces like Eric the bellman and Ian who I checked in with. Overall process was simply...pleasant and delightful. I 100% recommend MMI solely because of its employees. MMI also has one of the most reasonable rates for Mammoth resorts and ski in and out location. I only wished they could bring back their private shuttle to the village soon and can't wait to return!!!

Justin and Pablo went the extra mile to make our stay spectacular. Talking to them during checkin was like hanging with good friends.

We got there a few hours before their 4pm checkin, and they called before we could get even get our ski boots on to tell us they found a room that was ready and was even able to grant an upgrade. Totally unexpected, totally unnecessary, but VERY appreciated.

Especially after a 6 hour drive, they put a smile on our face and set the tone and the trajectory for the entire vacation.

Next morning, David greeted us in the MountainSide Grill with a smile and Diana was great a suggesting the best breakfast choice for us.

Even Marnie the housekeeper was all smiles.

Buck led a great, scenic, and informative snowmobile tour.

All this and the grooming crews are doing an amazing job of keeping the mountain in amazing conditions.
