This little B&B had very friendly staff and they were very accommodating. We booked our room thru their website and everything was smooth and easy. We arrived a little early and were able to check into our room early. We stayed in the Greenwich room on the third floor. The room was great and you have your bathroom. Breakfast was good and they make sure you are full. It does take a little time to eat so sit back relax and enjoy. My only tip for improvement would be to get black out curtains for the rooms. We like it dark when we sleep and although there is a curtain the room is still very light up at night. We very much enjoyed our stay and would love too go back.
Jane was a friendly and accommodating hostess. She made sure she made a delicious breakfast suited to each individual's taste. She made recommendations for restaurants, made the kitchen available for tea (or coffee) anytime, and helped with checking in for our return flight. The location is ideal - 3 blocks from the river and the Riverwalk and within walking distance to good restaurants and activities. The rooms are very nice, but remember, you are in a 1906 home with all the quirks associated with it. Don't expect a modern hotel room. Then again, you get a lovely porch to sit out on. My only concern would be if the central AC could keep up with the heat and humidity of a typical Florida summer day.
We are exclusively B&B travelers. This is just a ... good inn not much more. First the positives. Jane is very accommodating and friendly. The sheets are high quality and comfortable. The inn is centrally located. Easy walking distance to downtown restaurants and sometimes a street festival. Also close to the main route to reach Anna Marias beaches. There are snacks and chocolate strategically placed through out the inn. Some issues. The inn is all hard wood floors so you will hear your fellow guests walking above you or coming up the stairs at all hours of the night. Need to know that only a few rooms have their own bathroom in the room. Several other rooms have designated bathrooms for your specific room to be used down the hall from your room. Our Victorian room was oddly furnished with a dual leather recliner. Your breakfast is made to order, which may sound nice but is problematic. A full inn causes long waiting for your meal and for even coffee. When it finally is served it is good, but NOT gourmet as advertised. Nothing outstanding here but still recommended for its location and friendly keepers. …
Love...love...love the ambiance here. Toni and Jane made us feel very welcome. Tea was wonderful, scones and finger sandwiches yummy. Sat on porch for a while...reminded me of my grandma's home of long ago.
What a gem we found for our weekend getaway. We were minutes away from the beach and within walking distance of some restaurants and bars. The house definitely has the old world feel. We loved everything from our room, breakfast and our great hosts. Looking forward to going back soon.
