    Highlights & Lowlights
Just spent a month a Sun RV's Horseshoe Cove in Bradenton FL. On the good side – everyone was very friendly. Pool was beautiful and warmly heated all the time. Residents have organized a nice array of activities, which are completely open to us transients. In suburban area near shopping & restaurants. On the other side – wifi was close to No-fi. They advertised cable tv access which didn't exist. They say grassy sites – which is ½ weeds & ½ sand; no grass. Full-hookups are only 30 AMP – which is kind of antique-ish. I'd guess the park is 30+ years old, some things haven't been updated. Concrete patio was broken in 4 places. You're packed in like sardines. The fee was $1600/month + electricity. Which we learned is on the high side for the area.
Hello, Thank you for sharing your feedback, both positive and constructive! Our sincerest apologies for not exceeding the standards. We understand how this can be of an inconvenience. It’s pleasant to hear that our team provided you all with friendly service and that you had the chance to partake in our amenities. We hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future. Take care.

    Really not a resort
We stayed for a week and enjoyed the peacefulness of the park. Probably 75% are residents but all were friendly. Nice laundry area. Highlight was walking over to their private island which was lush and green. Our site was ok. They had placed us in a very old site which would not fit our 5th wheel, but then offered us a better site for $10 a nite. The new site needed to be weeded, which I did, and raked of all dead leaves.
Hello, We are sorry that you are disappointed but appreciate your feedback. We are committed to providing you with a great experience and hope you give us another chance in the future.

    Snowbirds for three years
This 55+ Community by Carefree RV Resorts is very nice. Mostly consisting of Park Models and mobile homes, there is a fairly large pull thru area for RV's on the south end. This year, Jan 1, 2015 thru April 1, 2015 was our third consecutive year here and we will continue to come each year we are able. Somewhat expensive but not bad for the area. Close to I75, near many restaurants, Walmart's, medical services and most other facilities. About 15 miles to many fine white sugar sand beaches. The resort consists of a very fine Club house featuring many activities. A heated pool and spa, pool room, library, horseshoe and shuffleboard courts. The Canadians love their Petanque and other games. There is also a large clubhouse on an island connected by a bridge. A great sanctuary for bird and Manatee watchers. Some fishing without license requirements. The only drawback here is the lack of maintenance. Much needs repairing and updating but doesn't get done. People are very friendly and if you ever get bored here, you should be embarrassed.

We’ve been residents in this village since 2018 and are very pleased with the environment and management to say the least. Any concern we’ve experienced has been readily and completely addressed to total satisfaction. The maintenance crew are FanTABuloUS. The Ammenities are always available and if anything is temporarily unavailable it is immediately posted on Facebook (another reason to step up and become a current resident), by Buddy Brunson, a true servant, which is a welcome and needed feature. John Schwemler, the manager, is a very friendly, professional and accommodating man. No matter what he is involved with at the moment, he will set it aside, to communicate with us, thus providing a very comfortable environment. The twelve (12) acre island’s accessibility has, yes, been compromised but not due to any delay on management’s part. From past career experiences, being formerly employed with the Construction Services Department, City of West Palm Beach, Florida for twelve (12) years and in the construction business as husband and wife for twenty (20) years, can attest to the many occasions that planning, zoning and building departments several times deliberately “STALL” in the permitting process which creates a management’s nightmare. This is a well kept and tremendously friendly location to visit or retain a permanent residency on Florida’s western coastline with every convenience within a mile’s ride!

I have to voice my opinion about this place. My wife and I were told we could buy a home in the park , even though we were under 55. So we applied , paid $40 for the application fee and were then DENIED! Told that the ratio is full for under 55 to join the community. If you knew , why add to the insult by taking my money?? But you know , every cloud has a silver lining. We found a nicer place for us that will suit our needs better. I am only writing this because I am frustrated by the fact we were lied too!

Hi Jason, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry that we were not able to offer you a home at this time. We accept all applications and forward them to our underwriting team to determine eligibility based on a number of factors. As a 55+ community, at least 80% of our households must meet the age requirements, but our sales department would not have age data at hand, nor deny anyone the opportunity to apply. Similarly, we do not make promises of acceptance as this is determined outside our office. We are glad that you found the right home for you and wish you all the best as you settle in.

False advertising! This park offers nothing special or unique to any other 55+ park. There is no fishing, kayaking, bird watching, river access, walking trail access. The following is quoted on their site yet the area is blocked off..” Set in a picturesque oak grove along the Braden River, our Florida RV resort provides residents with a 12-acre private island park, a lighted fishing pier, stunning nature trails, and a dog walk for pet-owners.” LIES!! Typical corporate greed, pay more receive less!

I made a reservation in May 2022 for the complete month of January 2023 and paid a $500.00 deposit. This week I received a call saying they had a customer that wanted our site for the whole season and they didn't have a spot for me and had canceled our reservation and would be sending our deposit back. This is no way to run a railroad. It is obvious you absolutely cannot trust this management. Buyer beware.

Hi Jim, We're sorry for the confusion and inconvenience. If we have a person who wants to sign on an annual basis, we always make contact like this to give the person on the reservation the first opportunity to book it as an annual. We understand, however, that not everyone is interested in annual sites. Our manager has reached out to offer a different site for your original dates. If you have not yet been in touch, please check your voicemail.

Corporate greed at its finest! Sun Communities taking your money and giving less. This past winter season saw monthly charges sky rocket and less amenities provided. Constant water shut offs, electrical outages, cancelled events. The last straw has been the total closure to the island. Winter saw access by golf cart stopped but now it is completely closed to pedestrians! No more barbecues, picnics, fishing, boating, kayaking, pétanque, screened clubhouse gatherings, wild life viewing, walking, gardening or enjoying the river view. Sun Rv Resort, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

The bridge to the island was closed on May 3, 2022. You can’t enjoy the beautiful sunsets from the island gazebo or use the walking trails to see the garden club’s floral displays. You can’t even fish from the docks or use the boat slips. There’s nowhere on site to launch a kayak anymore. To top it off, the only petanque courts are on the island, so no petanque. It used to be a really nice place, but its gone done hill in recent years.
