Stayed here in August 2013. Friendly staff. Very old hotel but the rooms have been updated. Enjoyed sitting on the porch at night. Historic. If you have cat allergies beware. They have numerous cats on the premises, one even hung out in our room! I didn't mind! Close to the ferry for Cumberland island. For a fee they packed us...

When I went to write my review of this hotel and saw some of the uncomplimentary reviews I was so surprised. This is a great little place celebrating its 100 year anniversary. The room was very comfortable (we slept better than we have in weeks of hotel travel). They allow pets. They have a great local type pub and a...

We had a lovely visit at the Riverview Hotel. It was fun letting my daughter experience a historic hotel with "real keys," high ceilings, antique furniture, and authentic charm. The proprietors were helpful and friendly. The bar was filled with cheerful music lovers. And the balcony was populated with peaceful folk hanging out and taking in a great view of...

I liked this hotel from the minute I walked into the lobby. Very cozy with a lot of character and charm. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. I had the Three Sisters room which is one of the smaller rooms but it was clean, well appointed, comfortable bed, quality Linens, and a large bathroom. Conveniently located close to the Ferry...

We love old historic buildings, we have a historic home of our own...from the moment we opened the door to our room, we were very disappointed with the quality of the room. The first morning I woke up, could hardly move, the mattress was so bad. The pillows were at least 20 years old, linens stained and old. The door...

Ok, I like old architecture, historical places and antiques, but this doesn't mean you use cheap and uncomfortable bedding and mattresses. You can still include a box of tissues, a newer TV larger than old 19" sitting on top of a stand made from scrap wood 6' off the floor. Oh yes, and when you give you guest a room...

This older hotel is the perfect place to stay when catching the early ferry to Cumberland Island. This is not the Hilton, it's an older hotel with a unique vibe from days gone by. Request a room with a view of the River. The locals are very friendly.

We came here the day after Valentine's Day, after a long day on Cumberland Island. The hotel is right across the ferry, which was exactly what we needed. We had the Martha's room which looks directly across the river (highly recommended). The room itself was only okish bc amenities are reallt old and not fully functionable. The pets at the...

The Riverview Hotel was once a quaint attractive spot to stay in St. Mary's and it could be again with a bit of work. The lobby area is dark, & has a musty smell which I think comes from the heating system. Everything was very clean, but sad looking. The room we were assigned was much prettier, and it was...

Lots of history there………..we were supposed to stay several nights, but this sleepy town is a bit too sleepy for us. There's not a lot of choices for restaurants. We imagine it was a thriving community before the paper mill moved out of that area.
