First things first, Crater Lake is BEAUTIFUL!! The surrounding area as well! The lodge, on the other hand, not so much. With just over a year between making the reservation and actually staying there, on top of almost $200/night fee, I was excited. But if you arrive late, apparently the basement is the best room you can get. When I... More

The lodge is a one of a kind place with great views although the rooms could use some updating. Hotel service was good however the restaurant service was terribly slow especially for a family. Took 15 minutes to get an order in for both dinner and breakfast. I guess since they are the only restaurant there they don't have competition... More

Crater Lake Lodge is more modest than other "grand lodges" in the west. But what it may lack in interior grandeur, by comparison to Timberline, Yellowstone or Glacier, is more than made up for by its setting right on the crater rim overlooking one of the world's truly magnificent wonders. Twenty five years ago, as it approached its centennial, the... More

We spent 2 nights at Crater Lake Lodge. (Book reservations early for your room and supper dining.) Rooms are "quaint". Small, oldish, no TV. Very charming. The main hall is lovely - comfy chairs and sofas, huge fireplace. The back porch looks at Crater Lake and is filled with rocking chairs to take in the view. Wait staff come by... More

We were very excited to have the chance to stay at Crater Lake Lodge. In fact, thanks to getting two nights, the national park was not a drive-through attraction for us. We were given a handicapped room, which proved to be roomy for the two of us. There was only one chair, so we sat in the Great Room in... More

That says it all! We were lucky to book a room at the last minute, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is magnificent. Ask for a corner room with a view, if it is available. Pictures and words cannot prepare you for the beauty of Crater Lake, which is right in back of the Lodge. Arriving early doesn’t help,... More

We have visited many national parks and stayed in the lodges. The Crater Lake Lodge is lovely, old and historic, however, it's all about location. Even though expensive, we stayed in room 220 with a view of the lake and would highly-recommend it. Crater Lake is so beautiful that it mesmerizes you; being able to look at it (even from... More

Crater Lake Lodge is gorgeous! The rooms can use a little help, but the entire property is gorgeous, you should not even be in your room! The lobby with its grand fireplaces, the restaurant with great food, and the staff were all wonderful.

This is a very historic property and the rustic architecture of the common rooms is something you won't forget. Its important to note that the rooms themselves are very small, most with tiny windows and many of which don't have showers (only tubs). Of course, bathing in a vintage 1915 clawfoot enameled steel tub does add to the historic atmosphere,... More

Like most national parks, the lodge here is a beautiful, historic building. Like most, the rooms are a bit dated, although it's better than some. Make reservations early, it's extremely popular (best to book dinner and boat reservations in advance as well - if you can't get in for dinner, have appetizers in the lounge area). Housekeeping was so-so; I... More
