The location, a short walk to the beach, restaurants or cafe. A fantastic garden, lovely spacious rooms, they have thought of everything - kettle, coffee maker, bottle opener, wine glasses, fridge etc. The host, Amy is a gem, welcoming, friendly and highly responsive. So many details that are perfect. Finally but not least, Snickers the house cat. Equally welcoming and sociable. A lovely locale, a place to return to time and again.
The Marl Inn Bed and Breakfast is an outstanding place to stay the gardens the food the amenities were superb. Usually my wife and I try to not stay in the same place twice but this Inn will definitely make the short list of a repeated stay. The inn keepers, Amy and Paul, are top notch. We felt at home for sure
This was my second stay here as I had stayed in May of 2021 for a funeral. I reserved a different room this time and when I arrived, the owner remembered me from almost a year ago, why I had come and a few preferences I had asked about. The inn was not full that night (it was definitely off season). So, she upgraded me to a bigger downstairs room which was great. Both the Yorktown suite (last May) and the Garden view suite (this trip) were both fantastic rooms. Great amenities, great location and the beds both slept great. Walking distance to place to eat, the beach, and other cool stuff. The whole area is beautiful. The owners are so nice and personable, it truly is a much greater experience than a chain hotel. If you are on the fence, don't be. Staying here is a home run. I will absolutely be back.…
My thumbs would get too tired to type a more full review of this property. We stayed in the Beach Suite. Although the breakfast is served unconventional for a BnB, it was delightful. Both of them! And the location is perfect for a sunrise walk, a short escape to the battle field, or a lazy morning in. Great getaway!
These guys came to our rescue when we ran from another B&B where just checking in we had a bad experience. They had availability, and welcomed us in like lost travelers. This is a VERY nice sort of beach house vibe. Has to be one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in, might be number one. We had a great suite that had a nice kitchen, living room area and very nice bedroom. The breakfast was tasty and we enjoyed the conversation with them at the table. We cannot stress enough - if you are going to be in Yorktown these guys are great. Thank you both for such a nice stay.
The Yorktown suite was clean and provided everything we needed for our stay. Within walking distance of the bay with quaint restaurants and shops. The drive to Jamestown and Williamsburg was very easy on the Colonial Parkway. Amy and Paul were great hosts.
I spent 2 nights in the Butterfly room - Amy is great. the Inn is clean and tastefully decorated (feel immediately at home) gardens are beautiful and peaceful. I really enjoyed my talks with Amy. I know where I'll be staying the next time I'm in Yorktown.
This is a great place to stay. Amy is a very nice host. The inn is clean and in the middle of the historic district. If your coming to Yorktown this is the place to stay. While we were here only one night we will be back. Amy makes sure you have everything need.
found Marl Inn after many searches online, stayed for 3 weeks for a family visit. Stayed in the Yorktown Suite, charming suite, comfortable and appealing, very quiet Loved the grounds with the beautiful breathtaking gardens. located in Historic Yorktown Beach, walking distance to the beach and lots to see. We can't wait to come back and won't stay anywhere else. The Rey Family.
My wife and I celebrated a wedding anniversary at the Marl Inn and couldn't have been more pleased. Paul and Amy were wonderful hosts and the location was perfect. We brought our two bikes and loved the ability to be anywhere in Historic Yorktown within a few minutes. We didn't have to leave Historic Yorktown all weekend. It has everything you could need (shops, restaurants, history tours, etc.). We were in the Garden View Suite and loved the ability to open our doors to the courtyard.
