Driving down from Washington DC to Florida, we stopped in Yorktown with no hotel in our plans since we had made no reservations and were quite surprised to find this hotel. It is in a great location across from the "beach" at Chesapeake Bay. We decided at that moment we would stay and I am glad we did. The lady...

I was familiar with this hotel and decided to finally stay here. I set my expectations low, simply based on the age of the hotel and some reviews. However, the first floor room was outstanding! Apparently recently renovated, the room smelled fantastic, carpet appeared to be new, as did the furniture. Bed was very comfortable and the a/c (which is...

Hotel is old but rooms are decent and staff are nice. Near trolley stop and beach across the street. Gets noisy on th weekend with the streets cruisers. Restaurant on site so you can park your car the entire trip. Pool area is nice too. Will stay next trip!

The hotel location is outstanding for this quaint community. The water views and beach are bueatiful. The room was clean. The two down sides were the checkin process and the room air conditioner was weak - glad we had a fan with us. The housekeeping staff was fun and interacted well with our group. The restaurants and pubs were excellent...

My husband and I stayed here for one night after visiting Williamsburg (short drive away). The motel is located on the river and the view from our room was wonderful. We were given a room that was renovated, so the carpet was new, along with the bedding and updated fixtures in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and it...

We stay at the hotel frequently, the staff is always courteous and friendly. The rooms are always nice and clean. We stay mainly on the 3rd floor with a beautiful view of the York River. It gets busy and yes, being right on the waterfront can get noisy. Weddings pop up on the beach and the Freight Shed event venue....

Nice clean basic hotel that has some updates in facilities, within walking distance of three restaurants, right across from the York River and only a half mile from the beginning of the Colonial Parkway. Prices are competitive for venues with a very good location. One of a kind!!

Rather disappointing recent stay on two accounts. First, we stayed in the upper building, which had a lovely view of the York River. The rooms provide outside chairs for sitting outside on a nice evening and watching the river. However, on both nights we stayed there the rooms on either side of us turned the outside seating into parties. No...

Needed a quick getaway, walked in, got a great King room on the AAA card for a decent price. Room was clean and quiet. Small refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave in the room. Bathroom was adequately stocked.

If you're looking for a 5-star resort, this is not the place! It is a longstanding hotel with a location you cannot beat in Yorktown. Great for a stay of a couple days and gets the job done. You'll get the bare bones here but the room was clean with a view of the river. Reasonably priced.
