This is the second time I have stayed in the Almo Inn. This hotel in the small town of Almo is wonderful. The room is large, has nice appliances and comfortable western furniture. The king bed is great and the bathroom has a large tub and shower with high quality soaps and lotion. It is next to the State Park at City of Rocks which is a first class hiking, climbing, birdwatching, stargazing destination. I cannot wait to return. The restaurant nextdoor and Tracy Store are fantastic too!

I stayed here due to the location next to City of Rocks National Reserve. The convenient location allowed me to easily photograph & explore the reserve at sunrise & sunset. The #5 cabin was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. I will be back.

This stay was the peak of relaxation. Sitting in the back on the patio and looking at nothing but the field and mountains. We defintely would like to return. The steak house and people working there were very accomodating..

My stay in Cabin #7 ("Denver") was excellent. The bed was so comfortable, the wi-fi signal was strong and reliable, the temperature was easy to control, and the peace and quiet could not be beat. Making the reservation was easy and getting into the cabin was smooth. It was a great place from which to visit City of Rocks. I was very happy with my choice to book the cabin and would gladly stay at the Almo Inn again. The only thing that put a very small damper on the experience was learning late Sunday evening (the evening of my stay) that the on-site restaurant that is played up would be closed all day the next day (Monday). I believe the restaurant is operated separately from the inn, but I would suggest including the restaurant's hours on the inn's website. Rock City Pizza is nearby but is not open for breakfast. I was able to go to the Tracy Store and get some apples and yogurt to augment the crackers I had in the car, so I survived. But to prepare for a day of hiking and exploring, it would have been nice to know about the restaurant so I could have come better prepared. …

Our family has enjoyed staying at the Almo Inn and eating at the Steakhouse for years. It's a wonderful fun place with the City of Rocks and Durfee Hot Springs. But this year was different because 2 of us have become old and handicapped, and now find the rooms not accomidating at all for the handicapped. It was hard to get into - we had walkers which nade it possible to get into, but if you have a wheelchair, forget it! The bed was too high to get into, the toilets too low, the chairs and couch too low and soft to get out of. The Steakhouse doesn't have rails up the front, and the ramp is OK, but hard to get to over the flagstones and gravel. I guess we'll save this place for younger people.

Believe it when they say it's the best-kept secret in Southern Idaho. I had the pleasure of staying in the Eastwood room this past September. The keyless check-in was flawless as were the accommodations. Being a westerner, I loved the old-west flare - brass beds with down comforters, and plank floors with gorgeous textile coverings. Cowboy boots and horse-themed artwork adorned the walls. The log and leather setee in the front room was the perfect place to sit and read. But be assured, all the amenities and fixtures were top-notch modern and spotlessly clean. I love a deck with a sunset view. And the view from the back deck showcases the Albion mountains; on the other side of which is the magical City of Rocks. If you haven't been, you are missing out on some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. After a peaceful sleep lulled by the patter of rain overhead, I made a cup of really good coffee courtesy of the Inn and set off to travel through The City, and onwards. Looking forward to returning.…

The Almo Inn is the most accommodating property near the City of Rocks National Monument and Castle Rocks State Park, a wonderful destination for rock climbers and those who want to get away from more well-known sites. It provides a rustic setting that is clean, quiet and comfortable.

Stayed in the Eastwood Suite. Front & rear decks. Watched thunderstorm, rain and beautiful sunsets from back deck while enjoying cocktails. Ate dinner in the Steakhouse - delicious! 5 minutes to both Castle Rocks and City of Rocks.
