Grande Vista RV Park

Grande Vista RV Park

Weeds, wild cats everywhere, has no maintenance of grounds. Website is deceptive and not true to actual conditions.
Traveler (20)
1950's era mobile homes within park, some with abandoned cars/broken windows, others lived in, in basic squallor. Neighborhood is frightening.

John the manager was helpful and nice to visit with. He made us feel very welcome. Laundry and women's showers very nice. Clean campground. Most of the sites are long-term RVs or mobile homes. Not much view. We would plan a stay there again if it weren't for the baking dogs, almost constant with resident dogs as well as those in neighboring homes. That made it uncomfortable to sit outside, so we will try another place the next time.

I might add that we had reserved a stay two weeks prior and cancelled due to forecasted bad weather. It took 7 phone calls (leaving messages and finally an answer) and 4 emails to get a response about cancelling. Poor communication! But John assured us that that will improve.

We stayed for 2 days during our trip to see attractions. Fort Bowie, Chiricahua national monument are two we went to. About a 3 hour trip to hike to and back to the fort

Bob the host was great assisted us with getting our brake buddy fixed. Knowledgeable gentleman.

Location is great for access to town. Women’s restroom and laundry room is very new; men’s restroom is still under construction. It’ll be nice when it’s finished. Park Office is also undergoing renovation, but host is close by and responsive to requests.

We stayed two nights during a Wilcox visit. owner was very accommodating. in excellent shape and getting better. location in Wilcox is far enough off the highway and away from the train to be relatively quiet. we think this was a good choice and would stay there again!

This park is a perfect location for area exploration.
We stayed a week and felt so comfortable and welcome, that we could have stayed longer.
The park is in transition. The amenities in the process of upgrade. The women’s shower is beautiful, clean and inviting. The laundromat is being updated. I presume the quality of improvement will be of the same caliber as the women’s shower.
The owners/hosts are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Great people that want your visit to be everything you need it to be.
The park is clean, tidy and quiet. The residents are friendly and welcoming, also. It is obvious that continuing improvements will make this an even better stop.
We will definitely return to the area again and this is our preferred destination.

Whoever did their website deserves an Oscar! This is the worst rv park we have ever visited. Weeds, ferrel cats, broken fences, dismantled cars with broken windows, a virtual dust bowl. Area was poor and we questioned our safety. Only four rv's the night we stayed and talking to the owners, all were surprised at the condition of the park compared to the reviews. This park is less than 1 Star.

We stopped here after a 380 mile day. We called ahead to make reservations for a pull through spot. Check in went fast and easy. The pull through full hook up spot was clean and easy to access. The laundry room and restrooms were just across from us but we didn't have a need to use them. The staff was friendly and pleasant. I would stay again when passing through.

After calling twice to get s reservation and leaving 2 messages, I called another campground in Wilcox, which was going to be our last stop on the way home from San Antonio Tx, the other site did not have a pull-though available, I tied once more and did speak to the proprietor, and was confirmed for a pull-through, gave my card number to hold it and was told a confirming e-mail was coming, which it did not, now comes the worst experience, the proprietor only had a 30 amp site, and then only had a back-in site available, I completely lost it, demanded a refund, which I was told would be forth coming, and a confirming e-mail. Both were a lie, I had to call my bank to challenge the charge, $50 plus dollars. I was so upset I decided to head for home that made a 500 or so mile driving day. I don't know if Good Sam has had any complaints but I intend to contact them.

We stayed here in 2020 and enjoyed the visit, but there wasn't a cat infestation at that time. It was a nice enough visit, so we stayed again in 2022. We wrote a review last year noting the problem with the stray cats and thought the owners/management would note the complaint and correct the problem. (This is an update to that review) That said, we gave them another chance this year as it's otherwise note a bad place to stay. Unfortunately, the issue with the cats is as bad, or worse than last year.

If you don't don't have a dog that hates cats...or,
You don't mind cats climbing up under your hood...or,
You don't mind cats climbing up on your vehicles and leaving paw prints, you might be ok.

Obviously we gave them a chance and came back, but never again.

The rules concerning not letting your dogs run freel should apply to cats as well.

Not at all what prior reviews expressed. What happened in just a few years time. Dog feces everywhere, feral cats, weeds, brown grass, old trailers. Grande Vista is more Grande Mess! No internet connectivity and the manager could care less, no tv, dog run is totally taken over by weeds. Sure had hoped the 4-5 star ratings seen on various apps were true. If a rating could be given in a negative number that is where I would have placed it.
