We recently stayed at Dos Cabezas B and B. Sam and Dorothy are wonderful hosts and will go out of their way to ensure a peaceful and relaxing time. If you have the chance, take them up on a dinner. Sam is a great cook and prepared a super meal for us.
Host couple, Sam and Dorothy, were friendly, kind and accommodating. They are very knowledgeable of this seemingly undiscovered southeastern region of Arizona. From the information provided for trails in the Chiricahua’s, to Fort Bowie (which wasn’t even on our radar), to the outstanding wineries near the property, the couples’ guidance was 5 star concierge level. They know most of the vintners personally. We were delighted with the breakfasts and the 4 course dinner the two prepared for us comprised of local produce and meats. Dinner was additional but unforgettable. The building that comprises the two guest rooms is historic and has that feel. In order to retain the historic aspects of the building, they do not feel like 5 star accommodations. We’ll use that ubiquitous “rustic” adjective to describe the guest living quarters. We loved their little menagerie of pets. My wife and I can’t wait to return.…
We loved our stay at Dos Cabezas near the Chiricahua National Monument. If you want to hike, do a little bird watching, or enjoy the local wineries, this is the place to stay. Dos Cabezas is located about 20 minutes from Chiricahua National Monument, Fort Bowie, Willcox, and local wineries. Sam and Dorothy will make your experience memorable, from the initial welcoming wine social on their veranda to the gourmet breakfast each morning. You will be staying in comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodations in an historic adobe building. Dorothy can tell you the fascinating history of this property and the surrounding area. You really don't need to leave the property to see a variety of birds or to just relax and wait for an incredible gourmet dinner prepared by Sam. (You need to reserve ahead of time for these meals at an additional cost. Don't miss this opportunity!) We will definitely choose Dos Cabezas if we are in the area again. Sam and Dorothy made us feel like treasured friends and were focused on making our stay comfortable, relaxed, and unforgettable.…
It’s hard to know where to start! We had an amazing experience with Dorothy and Sam. If you have an appreciation for history, a love for wine and nature, this is the place to stay. Thanks to them our first trip to Willcox wine country left us feeling like we were family. Our last impression when leaving was that we couldn’t wait to come back. Here’s just a sample of the gracious hospitality they offered us: It was pouring rain on our first day so we couldn’t venture out as early as we wanted. Dorothy suggested that we have mimosas in our room and Sam even brought out us the orange juice and champagne flutes to make sure it happened. I have to jump to the food. Sam is the chef and he truly delighted us with his cuisine. I am gluten free so he made everything gf so I could eat. Wow! Is all I have to say. I even got to have one of his famous Dutch babies for breakfast. We ordered the wine paired dinner (highly recommend as there is no place with this type of food in Willcox.) and we had a perfect meal with a wonderful flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Sam and Dorothy made the evening magical to help celebrate our friend’s 80th birthday. We couldn’t have asked for more. We’ve never met hosts like these. They truly treat you like family. Dorothy will tell you all about the area and Sam will feed you. We just can’t wait to go back!…
Our stay at the Dos Cabezas Retreat was a special treat. Close to the wineries of Wilcox, as well as Chiricahua National Monument and the Amerind Museum, this weekend felt like we stepped back in time. The buildings were original adobe structures with modifications for the traveler's comfort. Sam and Dorothy were excellent hosts serving fabulous food. We can honestly recommend the Retreat for a unique experience.
My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Dos Cavezas retreat. Sam and Dorothy are so welcoming. We had comfortable lodging in a very peaceful part of Az. The food was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious and made with care and very fresh ingredients. We made the very wise choice to have dinner both night. What a treat. Great food and a charming dinning room. I highly recommend Dos Cavezas.
What an amazing place away from it all. Sam and Dorothy are excellent hosts. Breakfast was delicious and of course our dinner on Saturday evening was just as perfect. What they have done to make this place comfortable and relaxing is incredible. We will definitely be back!
This place is wonderful! Sam and Dorothy take great care and pride in their business, from the exceptional precautions and cleanliness, the delicious meals, and the historical and cozy amenities! We spent this past weekend there for our anniversary and will definitely return!
Dorothy and Sam are the most wonderful and gracious hosts. Dorothy creates the most beautiful atmosphere while Sam prepares the most fantastic meals! I cannot say enough about this great hideaway bursting with nature! It was a wonderful time to relax, enjoy all the beauty southeastern AZ has to offer. Even during covid everything they did had a special touch while staying safe and clean. My husband and I will be back for sure and look forward to spending our time with great new friends in the perfect setting.
The Dos Cabezas B&B is a little sliver of paradise nestled in the mountains with spectacular views all around. The hosts Dorothy and Sam are quite amazing at what they do. They organized a beautiful anniversary dinner for my husband and I. The food, decor, and hospitality was outstanding! I highly recommend this place if you're looking to a true relaxing getaway. 😁
