If you are looking for an out of the way place to enjoy nature, history filled Muleshoe Ranch is hard to beat. It has great hikes, great birding and natural hot springs. The casitas are comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. No problem doing a day hike there if you aren't spending the night.

Our group stayed four glorious nights with coyotes yipping, stars twinkling, with the sounds of night birds and trickling springs lulling us to sleep. The staff and volunteers were exceptionally helpful, calling our attention to items of interest and retelling tales of the old west, which sparked our interest in the previous owners of the ranch and the history of...

This is a marvelous, remote & comfortable ranch - a great way to unplug and enjoy nature. Enjoy hiking trails & birdwatching. I stayed in a one bedroom casita with 3 other persons. The bedroom has a double bed. A cot and futon were added to the large living room for a friend and me to sleep on. The living...

My family and I have visited the Muleshoe for 20 plus years, at least twice annually. We have also volunteered at a number of the national parks and preserves nationwide as well as Muleshoe. As with any business, the ranch periodically changes staff. the Nature Conservancy has owned and managed the ranch for 35 years and we feel the current...

We've stayed at Muleshoe Ranch twice and I can't wait to go back. The casitas are cozy and comfortable. It's a bit of a drive from Wilcox to the ranch, so bring your supplies. The road has some stretches of washboard but is fine for ordinary autos. The hiking trails are excellent. We preferred to start our hikes early in...

The area is very beautiful. We saw a number of birds, deer, and coati. All were right around the grounds. After a scenic hike we enjoyed sitting in the hotspring tubs. The night sky was also amazing. For having to schlep all your food, drinks, and ice out there is was more like a camping trip with a cozy place...
