Detailed Reviews
The original hotel opened in 1906 and burned down in 1962. The new Artesian, was resurrected by the Chickasaw Nation in 2013. It is grand with high ceilings; large rooms; a hot tub and pools; spa amenities; a fitness center; a bar and restaurant; friendly staff and a cozy casino. It never seemed crowded. Our room and bathroom were clean. The bathroom was well supplied with towels, soaps, shampoo and lotion. The complimentary bottles of Artesian water and chocolates were refreshing and delightful. Coffee, drinks, ice and snack vending machines are available on each floor. We redeemed some of the coupons that were provided with our room. The hotel is close to many good places to eat; places to shop (specialty boutiques and thrift stores); a nursery; and the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. We were thrilled to see buffalo and deer roaming in the latter; the beautiful wild flowers in bloom; the waterfalls; and the Nature Center. We noticed, on several occasions, children attending birthday parties at the hotel. We had a wonderful mid-week mini vacation. All in all, the Artesian Hotel/Casino is a fine place for both adults and children to relax and have fun.

The hotel is quaint, the staff is super friendly. Most of the staff are wearing their masks and being as safe as possible. Our room was pretty quiet for being right next door to a very busy elevator. We had to ask for more toiletries because the room was not appropriately stocked for a stay of two nights, no big deal. Dakota from the front desk got right on that and we had what we needed in less than ten minutes. I must say, we remember him from the last stay we had about a year ago due to his impeccable friendly hospitality. We had no view from the room we were in, it was just a view of the roof. I mean like NO VIEW, we didn't bother to open the blinds. Anyway, I think the rooms could be cleaner, especially during a pandemic. There were streaks on the mirrors, the carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed very well. I went over everything with my anti-bacterial wipes just in case, especially door knobs, drawer knobs, tv remote, and we travel with our own pillow case covers because I am paranoid. The pool was very busy, but most people kept to the social distancing standards. The bath house was closed and we did not use the spa services. We visited the Springs restaurant and liked the options they had. Our burgers were extremely salty, but we aren't salt eaters, so, we just need to remember to have them hold it next time. The service at the Springs was great and when we had room service for breakfast it was wonderful! We visited the casino on Saturday morning and they do take your temp and require masks. Although they space out the seating, there are inconsiderate people who will just come right up next to you (maybe to try and get you off of "their machine", I don't know, but that doesn't seem to be policed, they seem to be leaving it up to the patrons) but, we only stayed in there for a couple of hours. We are going to be heading back next weekend with our grandson so he can swim and hang out with us old folks. This was our fourth visit and we are looking forward to our next! We love this hotel every time we go!

The Artesian has gone downhill sadly. It’s always dirty and they do not perform basic cleaning. We have been there often and have even filled out the online forms sent to us by them with our concerns, which they completely ignored. The main elevator floors are always sticky and have food all over them and they are not cleaned or maintained. They stayed in this condition without being cleaned during our last three nite stay. My husband is still talking about the pop tarts that were thrown all over the floor. (Which is rather ironic considering that housekeeping opens on the bottom level out of the rear of the elevator). They leave used room service trays in the hallways for days. (The hallways are on a camera, meaning they can see it). They do not vacuum dirt off of the hotel hallway carpets for days. The same goes for the marble floors leading to the casino that were covered in mud, for days. They were covered with mud during our stay and no one ever cleaned them. The curtains in our room and outside hallway were filthy, they were torn at the top (in our room), and were just hanging down looking horrible. And they had been that way for at least a year. (We had the same room). And they were the same filthy torn curtains. How ironic is it that most of these areas have CAMERAS on them, Meaning that they can see all of these issues, and yet they still do nothing! The spa also ‘lost’ my reservation that my husband had booked for me. Don’t get me started on the price of drinks in the casino. IF the bar is open that is and the bartender is not on a break. One double round with a modest tip Is about $40. We are very sad to see this happening to such a beautiful hotel. They won’t be able to get away with this poor housekeeping for much longer.

Had 20 ppl from northern Oklahoma, Dallas, and Colorado come for a 60th bday/a couples proposal and was a complete disaster. These 2 occasions had been planned for a year incl a photographer.
The hotel is a facade for a motel.
Upon checking in the room some of most apparently issues incl: poop on toilet, longs hairs in the display folded towels, huge chunks of dried pieces of bread on floor, and here’s the grand one—a sex toy on the floor. Rented the suite specifically for spa bath but there was no way we were any going to use it. Immediately canceled reservation for second night. The room was never cleaned. The furniture was frayed, any handles the finish is coming off. Every light incl sconces in bathroom had diff types of bulbs. There is no attention to detail at this motel. Contacted manager and stated “cleaning must have run out of products and forgot to go back to clean”
Dinner had reservation for 3 mos in advance and confirmed week and day of and we were sat an hour+ late. This was dinner: waitress came took order, a diff waitress delivered order. The photographer’s meal came separately in 4 diff parts. She got a sweet pic of our empty water glasses. I had to find someone to get our check so we could get out of there.
The food was Denny’s quality at best.
Casino: a tax of a dollar is charged on every play at the tables but interesting it wasn’t at some or depending on dealer— is that that legit?
Hated we were so far out and far into this mess that we were stuck there for the night.
I contested charge with my cc and let the managing director know he offered to make it up with a stay…well I’ve left 3 vm w no response.
Should I post pics of poops, sex toy, hairy towels etc bc I have them?

Rooms ok little over rated and dated for the price however beware of any thing including clothes left in room you know stuff you can't put into a safe or suitcase. CLEANING STAFF ARE THEIVES or just too lazy to actually check the closets as my coat got left behind due to waking with a migraine my husband packed up everything two days later when I could function again went to look for my coat no coat asked my husband he never grabbed it. Called to hotelno one would check the room and said housekeeping had not reported it.

We have stayed here many times. There is a complete lack of service here. The tablets they provide in the rooms do not work properly and instead of them letting people know they say they don't care because people will still come anyway. Good luck if you stay here for so many reasons

This is a beautiful hotel with lots of wonderful amenities and friendly employees. Alvin @ the concierge desk was partially helpful without even expecting a tip! Stayed there for my husband’s birthday which also included dinner at the restaurant and a massage in the enclosed spa area. The only disappointments were a very smoky casino and the price for a weekend visit was almost double the week night rate for the same room.

My wife and I got massages, hit up the hot tub, ate great food and gambled a little bit. Don’t come here expecting to win “big” (whatever that even means). Come her to soak up the Chickasaw culture and relax in the hot tub and spa. The casino is just a small plus, but don’t let it cloud over the things you can do here! Go on a nature walk! Get out and get away from the city!

Memorial weekend
Made reservations on phone for two rooms paying $209 per room.
Got to the hotel...
The outside pool is closed, bar is closed, hot tub is closed, hotel room not serviced daily, and all the shops connecting are closed.
If this was the case we should have been told upfront. Very frustrating. Bringing a family and the indoor pool is open, but the connecting outdoor (with the same water) is closed. Dishonest.

We stayed 6 nights (visiting family in area). Casino was closed b/c of virus (very understandable and we don't gamble anyways). Pool area was closed b/c of maintenance issues. Over 6 nights, we had 3 rooms which was our biggest issue. Our first room the fire sensor kept going off at the front desk (not in the room), we received a phone call asking if we were smoking, we said NO. A couple of mornings later at 6AM from dead sleep, knock on door from hotel manager and FIRE CHIEF, asking if we were smoking, UM NOOO. We asked to be moved to another room where the smoke alarms were working properly for safety reasons. Unpacked etc., used toilet, overflowed, major plumbing problems, then moved to our third and final room for the last 3 nights. There was a glitch with spa and room service that were minor and nothing to write about here. Communication (seemed to be different people every day) and maintenance seemed lacking (nothing related to virus). Upon checkout, system was down and were told we wouldn't be able to get a receipt, this made us very leary based on the previous experiences over our stay. Dustin listened to our stories (we really aren't high maintenance and very easy going) and gave us a free night stay that we felt was fair for the hassle of moving over 3 rooms over 6 night stay. Beds were comfortable, great location makes for an average stay.
