Hotel needs plenty of work. It's historical and brilliant architecture, accompanied by poor service dilapidated rooms and inadequate facilities. I was not thrilled by the lack of attention or resolve we received.

"Great location and convenient to El Pasos arts scene. Hotel features decent rooms but in our case absolutely no working temperature controls. As a result our room was at least 80 plus for the entire stay. Strange as the halls seemed air conditioned. Lack of restaurants downtown continue to beguile El Paso. Until this improves little reason to stay downtown....

What a fantastic experience we had yesterday at the Camino Real Hotel for their Thanksgiving Buffet. The food was beyond excellent, service was outstanding, great value for money, no cooking or clean up! We are most definitely going to do this again. So much food to choose from, the whole turkey thing, plus prime rib, shrimp, Mexican dishes, salmon, steak,...

Save your money. This property is a mess. The rooms were horrible. Woke up to take a shower and the shower head was missing...yes missing. You would think that the maid would notice after cleaning the bath. The second night we had hotel staff walk into our room around 2 am while we were sound asleep....totally dreadful and unnecessary!!! How...

As you might have guessed from the other reviews, this is an older hotel which hasn't been renovated in a while. That said, it's beautiful, spacious, and the service is terrific. The parking was reasonable, and it's a great downtown location. We were a little stunned at how much room we got for our money.

Yes, the rooms need updating but, with the new owners I believe they will make this historical hotel beautiful once again. Great place to have an event and there is only a couple of hotels downtown for your guest to stay.

Reviews mention the Camino Real is in need of renovation and it’s true; this historic hotel has seen much better days but I’ve stayed here a few times and I’ll return again. For one thing, it’s ideally placed on the edge of downtown and in the middle of the arts precinct. It’s also close to the border crossing; if you...

The room was large but terribly dated. The bathroom was terribly old and the shower head defective. The bathroom also looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. The reception is dark and deserted. The room also did not have a fridge. Only plus was good parking albeit for a fee.

If you're booking a conference at this hotel, be aware that the room discount will be hard to use because the conference rate you're promised will not be available through online booking (only through phone reservations, and the phone often doesn't get answered at this hotel, just rings and rings, and if someone finally does answer the phone, they will...
