The Cozy restaurant and the inn are now apart of Thurmont history. They were demolished in late 2015 and is now the home of Criswell Chevrolet. All the adjacent buildings across from the Cozy were also removed leaving a empty lot for future endeavors.

We made a habit of visiting the Cozy restaurant whenever we were in the Thurmont area. We were at the Thurmont Library when we looked it up to get directions from where we were, and found an article about it closing and the place being torn down. I heard there are a few cabins in the back, but that is... More

At first, I thought this inn would be wonderful. The Einsenhower room was set up very cute and the hotel lobby has a lot of historical items. But don't be fooled. Rooms are very musty. Woke up multiple times stuffy and dry mouth. Fridge was beeping all night. room was fully cleaned, coffee cups with coffee still in them left... More

Tired of driving we discovered this cozy little inn and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Friendly check in, all the rooms are named for Presidents, they are very like a bed and breakfast, with vintage furniture and pictures of the president for whom the room is named. In the morning we had a continental breakfast,... More

The room stank. The shower rod fell down and they did not have another to replace it. The sheets were old and worn. I was afraid to walk barefoot in the room or the shower that I had to repair myself as the curtain rod kept falling down. No one was staying in the Nixon Room. I was too tired... More

Stayed here this weekend and will never return. First of all, the restaurant had closed permanently. Which leaves one wondering where to eat. Second the room was quite small. Third, I would not have attempted using the stove/fridge. It is very, very old and the fridge smelled. Another small compact fridge was in the room. Two coffee machines in the... More

My husband and I stayed in the Kennedy Suite. The room itself could use more lighting, but it was clean and comfortable. Since it was June, we didn't get to use the electric fireplace. The large bathroom contained a 2-person jacuzzi tub, small stand-up shower, and separate area for the toilet & bidet. The sitting area was nice and there... More

Back in its day this may have been where presidents would stay, but those days have passed. If you don't look too closely this place would be good even though dated. The room was huge, but the bathroom left a little to be desired. Dated and dirty and we even discovered a couple bugs. The price was good, but even... More

We had an okay experience at the Cozy Inn. The wifi does not reach the room we were staying in so we had to use the lobby in order for my daughter to do necessary homework on her computer. The rooms are clean enough but certainly not updated. The buffet is a draw for the locals and it is nice... More

The Cozy has been around as long as I can remember. It is a weird voyage back in time - a combination of musty museum and warp in the solar system...It is not for the exhausted family that is seeking a Hampton Inn, ice machine down the hall, and a Denny's for the kids. It's got years of history behind... More
