I have stayed here several times and returned again for "nostalgia" purposes. The lobby is gorgeous and the room was sufficient. It's NYC so I don't expect a large room, but it was clean. However, neither the phone or the TV functioned at all. The hotel bar messed up my drink order twice and the breakfast service was terrible. I...

I read the reviews, and was a bit anxious about what it would be like, but VERY happy that we decided to try them. The lobby was beautiful as others have said, but most importantly, the room was top notch. Super clean, bed comfy, bathroom very clean. We had a king bed. The room was just enough space for two...

This was a very nice experience for the most part. Good location, nicely decorated, interesting looking hotel with old fashioned glamorous style. Rooms were fairly small but nice and nothing displeased us. Most of the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. When we first got there there was one desk clerk who wasn't very helpful and basically said she could...

The hotel is in an excellent location with an impressive lobby. As other people have commented I too found the staff at reception unfriendly and unhelpful and had a lengthy wait to check in, even though we left it until after 3pm to avoid the rush. The cleaners/maids seemed to be very friendly and always spoke and smiled. I seem...

I stayed there with my wife for our honeymoon in late September. The queues for reception are huge, with both check in and check out in the same place with let's say, 30 minutes to wait minimum. The desk staff were rude and dismissive. The room itself looked onto a rooftop with what looked like an exhaust pipe belching out...

Recently arrived home after staying at thre Roosevelt hotel for 6nights for my 1st wedding anniversary. We chose this hotel as it was recommended by 2 friends. Fantastic location. There is a door on the opposite side of the road from the main entrance which connects straight to grand central station. The hotel itself is within 15minute walk of time...

I love the location and the classic styling, but it comes with a trade-off of old building issues. The elevators could not keep up with demand. The bathroom needed minor repairs. One of our key-cards had repeated problems. All hotels in New York offer less for your $ than you get in other places, but be aware of the type...

I stayed here back in the summer of 2008 & reviewed the hotel then. I felt the need to review it again as I had wonderful service. I love the location, I like being close to Grand Central, Rockefeller Ctr, Central Park and away from the craziness of Times Square. I chose this location again as I got a good...

But that's about it. The rooms are beyond dated which is something I could live with but my room was actually not very clean either. The bathroom is a disaster. Our travel agent recommended The Roosevelt Hotel in downtown Manhattan as being well situated for our first trip to NYC. While the lobby was spacious and well-appointed, our room on the 14th. floor was TINY! Thank you for your comments and review. Yes, NYC rates can be pricey. We are happy to hear that you did find a rate with-in your budget here at our hotel. You are correct, views are limited as we are surrounded by much taller buildings. Yes, guest rooms in NYC tend to be on the cozy side especially when compared...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
