Expected a nice room for the price, but I guess that's what you have to settle for in in nyc. The rooms were outdated, moldy showers, air conditioning didn't work well. Beds were uncomfortable, pillows like rocks!

My family visited the hotel July 11-13th. My son booked directly through the hotel and was told our room would be extra special because we were traveling with two young family members aged 11 who had never been to New York. We were told and paid for WiFi thinking we would have access in our room. In the room only... More

I stayed there about a week. The Hotel is maybe not so Rooseveltish anymore, though it has been apparently renovated for some years ago. You can get still high class feeling from the staffs certainly arrogance towards people who doesn't wear a silk tie. The very nice and friendly doorman was a delightful exception. No one appeared to fix the... More

Mediocre at best. Location is good, 10 minute walk from Times Square and adjacent to Grand Central station. Rooms are dated. Loud air conditioning units. Elevators that take an eternity to become available (10-15 minute wait at times). Wifi is charged at $15 per day. Front desk staff are not very friendly. Bellboys that I saw were loud and abusive... Stayed at The Roosevelt July 14-18. We booked a cozy king through their website. It was the perfect size for the 2 of us. The hotel is literally right across the street from Grand Central Terminal, which makes it convenient to almost everything. The Concierge, Mara especially, was very helpful when we had questions about what to see and do.... More

Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and it was alright. We stayed in an upgraded room and to be honest I wouldn't like to see the standard rooms. The hotel is old fashioned and could really do with some updating. The air conditioning in our room was so noisy! Wifi is expensive, would expect free wifi at the rates... More

So you have a great location and classic grand lobby, but the hotel is just "OK". Depending on your room rate, the hotel may be fine for you and your family. Personally, I like bit more in my lodging. Check-in was business-like and efficient, but not particularly cordial. Room on 18th floor (except for a tiny bathroom) was reasonably sized... More

This is an old, historic hotel. Location is superb if you're coming into Grand Central Station. it's just a short block away. The lobby area is quite grand. There is a large bank of elevators. We had a king room on the 6th floor. It was spacious enough, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was in very good condition and clean.... More

Excellent Value, Charming Stay. happy that my daughter found a nice rebate to this gem at - j.mp/nicexplace The room was comfortable and precisely organized, and thought. Fine sized comfy bed! and fine bathroom. Employees were extremely smiley and lovely during my entire stay. Food was very good, enticing and delightful - quality and variety of food.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
