Stayed there for 5 nights and had a room change after the first night, even though we were up 12 floors the noise from the metal plates on the road were so loud and kept us awake all night, to then be told "welcome to new York'. This is my 7th stay in this city and never have experienced anything... More

Well I read several reviews before I booked the Roosevelt with apprehension. Booked because of availability and location. Had I booked earlier I might have chosen a different hotel. Waited to the last minute and this was the lowest rates and best location available. Saw reviews that the rooms were dirty and not well kept. I found no such problems... More

Well what should have been a memorable experience ended up memerable for the wring reason. Where to start. Rude abnoxious staff and that was front of house staff. Rooms old and tired. Aircon sounds like jet taling off. Feel like we are sleeping on a plane. Evelvators not working and when they do loads of people trying to cram into... More

The hotel was a beautiful, clean, affordable, accommodating place with a delicious breakfast. At peak tourism time we thought it would be impossible to get a decent hotel at the last minute. We were wrong..... The Roosevelt staff helped to make my birthday celebration in the NYC not only safe but memorable. A special "thank you" to Tomas our morning... More

This hotel is ideally situated - 2 minutes from Grand Central station, 8 minutes from Times Square and walking distance to so many attractions. The porters and concierge are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean though somewhat small and dated. Would definitely recommend it as an ideal base for sightseeing.

The hotel website doesnt do justice. My advise dont ever stay here. First night the porter / concierge just stay there while we were carrying our heavy luggage. Even if we gave a tip of $5.00 per bag. He is complaining that he is alone and he prefers large group. The room is so old and dusty. Hotel lift is... More

I booked a room at this hotel because of the great location. The reviews were not that bad and the price for NYC was ok. But let me begin, the lobby is not at street level so taking the elevator is necessary if you are carrying bags. It lakes about 10+ mins to get and elevator to just go 1... More

On our recent trip to NYC, on the recommendation of our travel agent, we stayed for 4 nights at the Roosevelt Hotel. We weren't disappointed. For anyone who wants to experience midtown Manhattan without having to worry about cabs or subways, the Roosevelt is well positioned. It's all about location, location location! From the Roosevelt you are no more the... More

The location of this hotel to most spots on Manhattan is amazing, we were able to walk almost everywhere from our hotel. The reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is because of the elevators not working properly, and the air conditioning was not very strong in the room (but in fairness it was almost 100 degrees outside).... Definatly not a 4 Star hotel--not even a 3!! Bellman Tony and concierge Mara were the 2 most helpful and pleasant employees. We had the Presidential Suite and had numerous problems, deficiencies, and instances of poor or no service. Upon arrival we experienced internet problems with the room, none of the televisions in the rooms would work, and although the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
