Had a great stay. Loved the room and design. Hotel staff was very friendly and made me feel safe during COVID. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again. I enjoyed my NYC visit as a result of my stay at this hotel
We are from Canada and had booked our Daughters wedding reception at the hotel on September 5. Despite having a signed contract with an impossibility clause the hotel has not refunded our deposit. It is a considerable amount of money and our Children can’t move on and plan another wedding. These people do not give a rats ass about their guests. They have quit responding to my emails after lying to us all summer about issuing the refund. Every other venue in New York refunded us without question. Stay at the Roger, they treated us like guests.
We are from Canada and had planned our Daughter's wedding in New York on September 5, 2020. Well of course Covid-19 ended those plans. We were to stay at the Roger Hotel and the reception was on the rooftop at the Giraffe. We had paid a very substantial deposit with a signed contract and an impossibility clause and booked over a year ago. All of our vendors and other venues refunded us months ago (including the Roger Hotel) but the Hotel Giraffe keeps giving us the run around about not being able to refund us until the property reopens because there is no one in the business office. We have been very patient but the hotel is obviously carrying on business even though they are not open. They are able to accept a credit card for a future reservation but are not able to refund our deposit on a credit card? They have other properties in New York that are open as well. It is very frustrating and upsetting because our daughter and her fiance are not able to plan another wedding until we get this deposit back. I am not sure if its because we are from Canada, or what the story is, but we are getting nowhere with this hotel and getting our deposit back. And OF COURSE we are so very sympathetic to the situation in New York, but we are all living in the Covid world now too and enough is enough. Anyone know a good lawyer?…
We'd like to thank all the staff at Hotel Giraffe. Not only were you helpful while booking our dates all the way from Cape Town, South Africa but also with making suggestions of what to see and do before we arrived and while we were there. We had an idea of what we wanted to see and do in our short 4 days but any questions we had, your staff were more than happy to answer them and make suggestions. The friendly and helpful staff really exceeded our expectations. It was such a bonus having wine and cheese each evening, fruit and beverages always available and the delicious continental breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and homely. We will definitely be back to visit again. Thank you so much for a memorable experience. Natalie and Marc.
This hotel is five star in every sense. The staff is outstanding. The rooms are quite comfortable and I even got a balcony this time! This is my second stay here in the past 6 months and will be my first choice every time I come to NYC. The three hour wine reception is outstanding. Made even moreso by the hostess. Realizing I had come in with very little time to spare (before the end of the wine hour) due to very delayed day of traveling, she made sure I was taken care of with enough proseco. It's on Park Ave and very short walk to the Flatiron district (Eataly!) for shopping and about a 15 minute walk to Times Square. Unfortunately, it was raining on my visit but they have a rooftop bar as well. I highly recommend The Hotel Giraffe!
