Stayed here for a week in Jan 2011 for a shopping trip. At that time only some of the rooms had been renovated and unfortunately we didn't manage to get one but the room we did get, while basic was clean and spacious. The complimentary buffet breakfast very morning is a great way to start the day with a good...

This hotel is a great value--the location can't be beat if you are looking to be near Empire State Building, Herald Square shopping, Lord & Taylor, MJ Trimmings, etc. Though in a very touristy area, you would never know it. The hotel is set back on a quieter street where the hustle and bustle of NYC is not noticeable, but...

I searched high and low for a hotel in NY that did not cost $2.5 million and could provide at least 2 queen beds to accommodate 2 adults and a child. Hard to come by in NY. Then I found the family room at Hotel Metro -- 2 BR, 1 with a queen bed, 1 with 2 double beds. The...

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The location, service and price were all excellent. Make sure to use the rooftop patio for unmatched view of Empire State Building. Macy's, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, 5th Avenue, Grand Central all within short walk, as are many subway lines. I could not have done better for a hotel.

So this review is seriously over due but here goes anyway... Me (Kate) and my boyfriend (Rich) are both 22, I have been to NY once before (when I was 18) but it was Rich's first time to America! I have to say I spent a lot of time researching where to stay but Trip Advisor is really what swayed...

The reviews on this hotel seemed a bit mixed. One of the big complaints was the attitude of the front desk. I found the front desk folks absolutly geat. The room was clean and quiet. The elevators effecient and the breakfast better than most. The location was great and I loved the rooftop bar! I cancelled a booking at the...

We stayed at Hotel Metro for the first 4 nights of our honeymoon on the advice of our travel agent who had stayed there previously. We are so glad we took their advice as this hotel is brilliant. The location is ideal as it is only a few minutes walk from the Empire State Building and has a subway station...

I took my 8 yr old to see my hometown of NY for the first time and stayed here. Safety, location, value and cleanliness were my top priorities and this hotel met/exceeded all of them. The room we shared was nicely appointed, not cookie-cutter motel like she is used to, and very comfortable though NY-small. B'fast (included) was unexpectedly good....

Hotel Metro helped make my granddaughter's 10th birthday celebration a trip she will remember forever! This was her first trip to NYC and Hotel Metro provided the perfect location then added an extra-special personal touch! Close to everything on her "must see" list, we walked everywhere and felt completely safe - day and night. Ten minute walk to Times Square...

The best thing about this hotel is its location, Macys and the Empire state just a block away. 100yrs from the 35st - Herald Sq subway station linking you to uptown and down town. only a 5 min walk to the Penn Station linking you to JFK airport for just $14. Brilliant. Room was very good, got a free upgrade...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
