This was our second stay at this hotel and it was even better this time.
It's not the largest or the most posh but the staff are very helpful and friendly. If you then add the great location it's a superb place to stay.
An hotel with smallish bedrooms and en suites but the rooms are comfortable with very clean bed linen and quilts and comfortable bed. Bathroom, although small, was clean with a good power shower. Shampoos etc and hairdryer all fine. Tea/coffee filter machine and fridge in...More
Stayed here for a week during the 'polar vortex' in January. First time in NY so no idea what to expect and where things were in comparison but it was the perfect location. 20 seconds to a tube line, nice view of the empire state...More
This hotel was all we could of wanted. The location on 35th street about 2 min walk from macys department store. 5 mins from empire state building. I would recommend visiting the empire state building at night as the views are stunning and it's only...More

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

My wife and I were there in April and didn’t pre-book anything. We didn’t have any problems getting into the main attractions. However, for you a lot will depend on the weather. Personally I wouldn’t pre book. Hotel Metro very good, excellent location.
If you’re flying into JFK and don’t have a pre-arranged transfer to Hotel Metro. Get one of the ‘Official’ Yellow Taxis 🚕 immediately outside the arrivals hall. There is an official stand. You get a ticket which you hand to the driver. From memory it costs $52 plus tip ($72) in total, but it’s worth it, hassle free. Don’t go with one of the unofficial taxi touts, we heard of horror stories were people were charges $160. The Bell Hop at the hotel can arrange your return, it’s really worth it. Another tip, get a 7 day Metro Card from the Metro stations, can be used on all Metro Trains and local busses 🚌 saved us a small fortune. Dave
