The Metro hotel has a great location, with an easy access to any place in the city. In addition, the top deck provides a spectacular view on the Empire State Building. We had a nice size room, comfortable and very quiet, with a modern bathroom. The hotel has charm and I can im

Stayed here for a week last year, so when arranging a 4 day trip this year with my daughter, didn't hesitate to book again. Arrived earlier than expected but was still able to check in. Delighted to be told that our room had been upgraded to a suite! It was lovely with 2 bedroom

We were here for a week during our first NY trip.
The hotel is in a great location with everything within walking distance.
The hotel itself has an old world charm. Perfectly adequate, a typical NY hotel. Rooms are small but functional and the washroom well appointed.

Hi I am visiting for a 2nd time next week but am thinking of taking the air train from JFK. I have been told I would need to get off at Jamaica station then get the line closest to The Metro. I remember there being a subway station just down from the hotel on the corner can any one tell me what line it is ? Or any info on getting to the hotel using the train from the airport we got a cab last time. Thanks
Taking the LIRR into Manhatten, you need to get off at Penn Station (that is the only stop on the island). It's only a 10 min walk to the Hotel Metro from there. Google maps will get you there no problem.

We are staying here in a few weeks and have seen a few comments about the waiting time for elevators. Is there an option to use the stairs if preferred?
Hi there, I don’t have any problem with elevator waiting time during our stay, but if you want to use the stairs, they have a good stairs access ended up in the center of the lobby :) Enjoy NY !

this used to be our favourite hotel and we are booked in this Friday. Is the refurbishment finished or still ongoing . Having breakfast before heading out and a hot drink when getting back was part of the attraction and if it’s not available I think I would cancel and book elsewhere .
On going breakfast vouchers were issued for pastries orange juice or water

I’m heading to this hotel tomorrow and we’re super excited. We’re just packing now and I wondered, do the hotel rooms come with hair dryers? Thanks!
Yes they have hair dryers in the rooms. It’s a lovely hotel we are going back in December. Enjoy your stay.

Hi I have heard that they are using a local cafe for breakfast whilst the hotel is being refurbished can you tell me if this is correct and if so is it an ok breakfast or are we better organising something ourselves? Thanks
A simple continental breakfast is included with certain packages. While the hotel restaurant is closed for renovations this is now offered offsite at a cafe around the corner. We encourage future guests to inquire if their package qualifies.
