#19 of 517 hotels in New York City
Travelers' Choice
The Evelyn Hotel blends timeless style and avant-garde glam for an authentically New York City hotel experience. Set in the NoMad neighborhood, formerly historic Tin Pan Alley - the city's Jazz Age music epicenter – the hotel features a recently enhanced lobby experience and three exceptional dining concepts by Chef Jonathan Benno. Feel at home in beautifully remodeled accommodations with luxurious comforts like Frette linens, bath amenities by Five Wits and bathrooms with heated floors and custom vanities with marble sinks. Vintage touches including musically-inspired accents and antique-style furnishings create a nostalgic experience in the heart of Manhattan's NoMad district, walking distance to Midtown, Union Square, NYU and Greenwich Village.

An excellent value even in pandemic NYC. Super attentive staff and management. Comfortable beds and a great grab and go with coffee and fresh pastries. I would definitely stay here again, the location is also great.

Richard K, Thank you for your glowing review! 2020 was quite the year, but grateful for the small things like Leonelli's coffee and pastries to make life a little sweeter. We can't wait to have you back in our care the next time you're in the New York City area! -De'Marcus

The hotel staff was attentive—especially De’Marcus—and responsive, and the decor created a cool vibe, making coming back after a long day satisfying and restorative. We ate dinner at the restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious. The valet was prompt and helpful. The room itself, though well appointed and comfortable, was very small, but I had everything I needed. We had a “grab and go” breakfast from the cafe, which was perfect in terms of portion and taste, but the cafe staff did not seem happy to be there; however, I would still strongly recommend the hotel and plan to stay again next time I’m in NYC.

This hotel was far below my expectation of a “4-star” hotel in New York City. The room was gross, black hair all over the bathroom and the entire room smelled like mold. I complained several times, and asked to change rooms and they would not accommodate. The customer service was abysmal. I am now staying at the James down the street which is actually a 4-star hotel. The Evelyn was worse than I would imagine a 2 star hotel to be. Furthermore, the room was tiny with cheap finishes and very dated, and the bathroom sink was so small I could not even fit my toiletry bag on the counter. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.

The Evelyn is centrally located right in the middle of Manhattan. Easy for me to choose any train to get going to anywhere I need to in minutes. Close to shopping, close to amazing dining. I was in the city for work and also brought many clients to the hotel lounge and bar to meet over food and drinks. I recommended the hotel to a few of my colleagues coming into the city as well. It was super clean and the staff from management to housekeeping had my health and safety front and center during my stay. I can’t wait to return!
