This cute hotel is in a great location with lots to do and eat nearby. The staff were especially wonderful and courteous. Very clean and highly recommended especially for the price. Will be looking forward to our next stay!
The room was very spacious for the city. We had the corner room with a great view of the area. There were many good bars and restaurants in the area. The front desk was very professional and welcoming. The bathroom and floors were very clean. I would recommend anyone looking for a hotel in the Gramercy Area to stay here.
I was a little worried after reading the reviews on here, however the hotel was great! Rooms aren’t huge but that is standard for New York. Everything is clean, staff are friendly and the location is perfect. The only thing which was a shame was no access to coffee in the hotel but that was minor. 100% recommend and would stay again!
I visited NY several times and want to stay in the quiet area. So I chose this hotel and satisfied. Everything was nearby, trader joes, restaurants, bars. And it was walking distance to the empire state building. Room was large enough for family of 3. I will visit again.
Called prior to request late checkin and they said they will make a note and assured me there’s someone in the frontdesk 24/7. Arrived after a full day of flying and there’s no one in the frontdesk and waited for 6 hours throughout the night and no one was on staff. I finally gave up and just booked at another hotel. What kind of hotel runs like this? No one on staff in the evening to check you in? If you’re not going to have anyone on staff please don’t run a hotel. Because there are paying customers that need to get attended to. Do yourself a favor, don’t book at this hotel EVER and book at another hotel. Even 2 star motels don’t treat you like this. See photo below no one on the frontdesk and been that way for 6 hours or more of waiting.
I am fed up with hotels tacking on resort fees! For two bottles of water and Wifi in NYC, that you can not say NO to...for $20 per day! Cut it out, stop the rip off. Otherwise a fine property - but hope they do the right thing on this front
Hotel rooms and hotel generally felt ‘tired’ and not as generally the hotel is not as modern up-to-date and glossy as it’s picture would lead you to believe. Roof terrace and guest lounge was closed for the 6 day duration of our stay which was extremely disappointing as we had been looking forward to being able to use it - hotel staff surly and unhelpful when asked about this citing ‘Maintenance work’ as the reason for its closure. There was no sign of any maintenance during our stay and hotel could not offer and compensation. The other problem with this was that with that with guest lounge closed wasn’t possible to get a tea/coffee in the hotel as no coffee machines are provided in bedrooms. Room did not include a fridge as advertised. I am not at all sure what allows this hotel to have a 4* it certainly did neither felt like a 4* nor had the facilities that I would expect of a hotel of this level. On the positive, as tourists exploring the city, the hotel is well situated in Manhattan to easily travel uptown or downtown, and with many attractions within walking distance, and the doorman was always very friendly and helpful.…
Rooms are shabby and definitely not a 4 star hotel. Do not be fooled by the lovely glossy photos and professional looking website. It was probably once a lovely boutique hotel, but not any longer. Do not believe the Trip Advisor description of amenities that are offered either. There may be a roof top terrace but it was closed to guests and while looking through the doors, there didn't appear as though a bar was located there. We were personally looking forward to going up on the roof terrace to have a drink and it was part of the hotels appeal when booking. So disappointing. There was no refrigerator in the room. We assumed it used to be placed in the large useless cupboard in the desk. Flatscreen tv's? The one in my room was very old and only offered so many pre chosen channels. The WiFi at the hotel was not secure which caused distress to my fellow traveller when I advised her not to use her phone and tablet at the hotel. I downloaded a Vpn app to my phone so that we could safely use my device to order food or check bank balances safely and to not risk my phone being hacked. We all want to be safe during covid, but being informed on arrival that there was no room service during our stay unless we requested it, or that we had to ask for towel changes for our room if needed just added to the impression that the hotel is basic and run on a shoestring rather than the obvious covid safety issues. We paid very good money for a hotel stay that was completely different to what we expected. And we expected a little bit of luxe and comfort, not shabbiness. The bathrooms are only just in reasonable condition as was the room. The 4 star rating is a blatant lie for the price paid. The rooms are also small. We booked the deluxe room with two double beds for 2 people. As there was no where to store suitcases and only one small closer, I wondered how a family of 4 would manage. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful but I just feel like I have been conned. What you see just isn't what you get. If you like your room with worn old furniture and old bathrooms and carpets then you will have a happy stay.…
In the 8 nights we stayed there we had room service only twice!!!! That means that the room was dirty, we had to use our towels for several days and the bathroom was dirty after one day of use. It was still dirty after room service has been there. In addition there was not one glass, nor a bottle opener, no fridge, no water cooker, no nothing there. The whole hotel could use a refurbishment. For me that was more like a Bed&Breakfast, just without the breakfast. The roof terrace was closed as well and the advertised view of the Brooklyn Bridge (or any bridge) is simply a lie!!! All in all the hotel was absolutely not worth the money. Do not book it!!! The only reason why I gave the hotel a 1 is because the location was god and the day staff behind the reception was nice.
I booked through Hotwire and this hotel was the one that was selected. This hotel is considered a 4 star hotel yet inwould barely give it 3 stars. The hotel is located in a convenient location, walking distance to subway lines and Union Square. The bed was fine as was the room. There was no chest of drawers which I was not happy about; I had to put my clothes on 2 shelves in the closet which I was also not happy about. When I would turn on the hot water I would have to wait nearly a minute for the water to heat up to be able to shower. The room was scheduled to be serviced just once every 3 days. For the price of the room this is unacceptable. Then there was the residence fee which came out to $23 per day which included tax. Included in this fee were 2 daily bottles of water, premium internet, the ability to leave bags at the hotel if it were too early to check in or to leave after check out if a late departure. Also free unlimited local phone calls which I found ridiculous, I mean who uses a hotel phone for anything other than calling the front desk these days? Thankfully I was able to get this fee waived. The rooms did not come with a small refrigerator, coffee maker or a microwave. The hotel did have a lounge which had a single microwave and what appeared to be a coffee machine but the room was closed for some type of repairs. All in all after this I would not stay in this hotel again if given the choice.…
