Had a fabulous 5 days at this hotel. A lovely warm welcome after a long flight but really lovely attentive staff from start to finish. Very homely and comfortable place to stay. Really comfy beds too. Also a nice friendly bar to relax after a long day sightseeing. Excellent location too. I could not fault anything and would highly recommend We have stayed in nyc a few times previously but will definitely stay here again on my return
The customer service at Fitzpatrick Grand Central was exceptional. From our first interaction with reservations by email, to the warm and friendly welcome by Jennifer at reception, to the top class service by bar supervisor Brendan we were looked after so well. My son, who was celebrating his 21st birthday was greeted by champagne, ballons and birthday cake on arrival at his room, which was such a lovely surprise. The room with two double beds was very spacious by NY standards and the bathroom had been recently upgraded. Everyone in the reception area was helpful and chatty whenever we walked through the foyer . The lobby area is in need of an upgrade though and doesn't reflect the hotel's true character in my opinion. We had good food and refresments in the Wheeltapper bar on several occasions and the bar supervisor Brendan did a wonderful job. He was efficent, professional and personable. The patio area was impressive , yet cosy. Thanks in particular to Brendan and Jennifer who helped to make our 5 day Manhattan trip a memory we will never forget. (We recommend anyone staying here to plan a trip to Summit One Vanderbilt- best observation deck experience ever! and so close to the hotel.) Maria and Harry.…
This was honestly the worst and probably the most expensive meal we had in Manhattan. We ordered a club sandwich & nachos. Not sure if the bread was stale or very slightly toasted for the club sandwich which was filled with processed meat. The nachos had no chilli meat at all and had no flavour. The chips we clearly frozen & thankfully had a little tub of sauce which helped with the taste. Honestly please don’t waste your money. We stayed in their Hotel over 20 years ago and having had a great time & serve then we assumed we would have been of the same standard. How disappointing and would have had better meal from a fast food place for so much less. Waste of money
My husband and I spent our tenth anniversary in NYC and we were so pleased that we chose the Fitzpatrick Grand Central. We had made the reservation based on convenience of location and past experience. My husband, being from Ireland, also appreciates the warm Irish welcome we always recieve. I must say, in this visit the staff really outdid themselves. We were concerned that all rooms were taken but the reservations team found a room and made it work by upgradeing us. We were touched to find a chilled bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries in honor of our special day. We expressed a bit of concern re eating inside the pub. In no time we had an outdoor table and felt very comfortable. From the concierge services to the desk staff inclduing the cleaning crew we could not have had a more perfect stay. To our friends at the Fitzpatrick heartfelt thanks and hope to see you all again soon. To anyone looking for the perfect place to stay in the city you cannot go wrong with the Fitzpatrick, it has it all.…
The hotel has a very warm house feeling. Beds were super comfortable, sheets were white and clean, They have bathtubs with the shower , which is quite awesome for New York. Melanie at the front desk gave dynamic customer service. My husband and I want her to work for our company. Very kind and extremely helpful. Her authentic New York accent made thIs Irish hotel even better. We look forward to our next trip at the Fitzpatrick.
In a city the size of New York, it is such a wonderful experience to walk into a hotel for the first time and be greeted as if they have known me for years! I cannot say enough about the customer service and sincere friendliness that I experienced with Jennifer and Melanie! On top of their stellar face to face customer service they also went above and beyond by helping me locate a blouse I left behind in my room and then helped me coordinate it being mailed to my home. These two ladies completely MADE my weekend in New York.
We don’t live in a perfect world and there’s no such thing as a perfect hotel. Unfortunately on my arrival to this hotel I had a couple of small room issues that needed reporting. I checked in in the evening and It was the end of a long, busy day at work in which I hadn’t eaten properly as someone had stolen my lunch. Jennifer on the front desk not only sorted my room issues (upgrading me so I could rest as quickly as possible) but then she gave me a level of customer service I rarely experience anywhere in the world. As I came out the shower there was a follow up call from Jennifer to ensure I was comfortable in the new room. A nice touch and then she mentioned she’d left some food outside my door. This was way above and beyond the call of duty, someone showing she’d listened to my problems and showing compassion and empathy for my difficult day. Well done Jennifer - Thank you from the bottom of heart. Fitzpatrick hotels are VERY lucky to have you!…
What a pleasant surprise the Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel was. We needed a place for a quick overnight near the train and chose this hotel for its location. It was much more than that. Our room was beautiful with a nice view of 44th Street. The private bathroom was elegant and service was prompt and courteous. We will definitely stay there again.
Super location and a lovely hotel. Beds exceptionally comfortable and a high standard of cleanliness in the bedrooms. Made feel extremely welcome by the lovely ladies on reception, thank you Jennifer and Melanie. Looking forward to our return trip in May.
The hotel was central and very clean. I must compliment the reception staff and in particular Brendan the maintenance man who came to my rescue when I dropped a chain of sentimental value down the sink! They took the sink apart to retrieve it. Was extremely grateful. Only negative was that the shower had really low pressure.
