Nestled in a prime spot, The Manhattan Club wins praise for its proximity to Central Park and easy subway access, making it a hit for sightseers. Guests have called out the hotel's cleanliness, although the value is questioned due to high additional fees. While many commend the friendly staff, others have had less than stellar service experiences.
The spacious rooms with kitchenettes are a plus, but cries for modernization and better water pressure are frequent. Despite dated decor, the comfortable amenities like plush robes and effective blackout curtains offer a cozy stay.

Detailed Reviews
The Manhattan Club was one of the most expensive places we have ever traded to for an RCI resort, and we regret our decision. We loved the location of the "Resort," the comfortable bed, and how big the room was in NYC, but that was the extent of our likes at this resort.
When we booked, nothing was stated on the RCI site that the food at the club level was still going to be closed, and the ridiculous 54/night hospitality fee did not go down in price when those were not offered currently. When I reached out to ask what was covered in the fee, they told me it was non-negotiable and didn't give me any idea what I was paying for with that high cost.
They send out almost daily messages about being green and nondaily room service, but it was still performed every day in our room, and towels were swapped, and beds were made. The Valet at the front door was always pleasant and kind, but we didn't use any of their services; when we arrived, they didn't offer to help with any bags. The bed in the room was very comfortable and was a nice place to sleep every night, but the view was just a building next door with people working in it every day. The location to the subway lines was fantastic; it was a short 10-15 minute trip to just about anywhere we wanted to go in Manhattan. The room was not worth the cost of the points to trade in; we stayed in rooms in the single digits for trade points that offered more to do and better-looking rooms. The quality was terrible, and you could see the grout coming through in the bathrooms, the fans did not work, and it was always very humid in the rooms. The room size was great; we could fit our family of 4 in it without issues. The appliances in the room were ancient and needed to be updated; the refrigerator door had gaps and had a very inconsistent temperature. The microwave did not work very well, and you needed to double your time even to try to use it. We will not book this hotel in the future and will find another place to stay.

This is a nice, clean hotel in the heart of the city. Anything anyone wants to see in NY is within easy access to this hotel. The staff was courteous and friendly. The suite we stayed in was small but there aren’t too many affordable things in NY that aren’t. Even the elevators and halls were narrow.
We had a king-size bed in its own room and a queen modern pull out. There were also two full baths. The kitchenette has dishes, micro, mini fridge and dishwasher. There was also a small eating table w three chairs.
The gym was excellent as well as the lounge. Both on the top floor.
Parking was valet only at $35/24hrs. No in and out access. Metro was a couple of blocks away.
There was intermittent street noise of some sort all night so if a light sleeper, recommends earplugs.
Overall I would stay again but only in a suite. I can’t imagine how much smaller a regular room would be.

The location is centrally located to most of the main attractions and close to the subway entrance for those places that would be too far to walk. The room was very nice and clean. It did get a little too warm for us but we were able to turn the unit off and open the window a bit to cool it off. The bell hop, Ishmael, was so very nice. Not only did he help with our luggage but he also took it upon himself to call a particular restaurant to see if it was open, since it was Christmas Day, to save us a walk, because it was the end of the day and he could tell we were tired. When he found out it was closed, he referred us to a restaurant within a short walking distance that was very good. He also gave us a map of the subway and helped us with directions to get to the ferry. Every one that we encountered in the hotel, was friendly. Very nice experience for our first trip to the big city!

I would NOT stay again. Better quality, cleanliness, and value out there. I visited in September with my 19-year-old nephew. One Bedroom Suite with Two Bathrooms. (Via Bookings.com as cheaper than booking direct) I have stayed in Manhattan twice before and picked this hotel due to the location to the underground lines and due to the rooms set up gave us both a little privacy. I requested a high floor and quiet room. I was allocated room 2404.
The window was stuck shut and they did not come and fix it. The Air Con is either On or Off and is very hard to get the settings right. There is nowhere in the bathroom to unpack toiletries and make up and the light over the mirror is poor to. The wallpaper in the smaller bathroom is large python snakeskin wallpaper which a lot of people may not like. The décor and furniture are of an old style with lots of dents and scratches.
The rooms are a good base but not if you wish to sleep. The headboard of the sofa bed backs on to the bank of elevators and you could hear them up and down late at night and early morning. Not my idea of a quiet room ask requested. I visited reception first thing in the morning, and they could not change our room. The only option offered was to pack everything, leave it at reception, wait for a room to become free and then collect the bags and unpack. It was decided was not worth the hassle as we were only there for a short time. The manager offered a bar voucher (my nephew is underage) or a breakfast voucher (my nephew could not eat this as he is gluten free this, they were aware of due to previous communications.)
I also mentioned that the room was not clean, and the Manager Anzhelika Masheyeva spoke to me and reassured me that housekeeping would come can clean the old dust on the furniture etc. this never happened. Not very good considering the resent pandemic we have been through. I mentioned this to her on our last day also and she said she you get a uber voucher sent over this never arrived either.
I requested for the sofa bed to be made up, but this was not done so I called reception, and this was rectified whilst we went out.
This was my nephews first trip to the USA as was hoping for better I tried to resolve the issues whilst there rather than being a key board warrior upon return but to no avail. A company is only as good as its customer experience, and I would not stay here again.
Wi-Fi included in price. Luggage stored for free.

We were 3 women staying 4 nights in the unit with 2 bathrooms. The furniture was scratched and worn looking and as was the carpet and room. It was not the beautiful room in their website photos. The coffee maker was of flimsy plastic and start button was worn out and hard to make work. The 2 regular generic coffee pods was an issue for 3 women! The next morning we left a note and tip for the room attendant asking for 3 regular coffee pods and 3 clean wash cloths. Upon returning that evening found no one had come to the room so we went to the lobby and asked for those items and for the room to be cleaned the next morning. Later a man who didn’t speak English brought us 2 coffee pods and 1 wash cloth. The next 2 days no one serviced the room! We asked a gentleman on our floor if his room had been cleaned the last 3 days and he said “it had and he heard from other guests the hotel did not provide daily service to those who are not time share owners”! We spoke to a manager and someone did clean the room, left clean towels and coffee pods, the afternoon before we left. The internet is iffy and didn’t have a strong signal. We paid $450 a night. The location was ideal for our visit but the service and room condition wasn’t worth it. The door men were kind and helpful. The bed was comfy.

PROS: The staff was very friendly, housekeeping promptly arrives with requests, location is great, the pull out sofa bed was a foam mattress( which was a huge surprise usually those mattresses are not much more than a box spring mattress) which was comfortable and long enough for my 6 foot plus teenager who sleeps on a Casper bed at home. The real bed was comfortable, pillow are soft. The room is a fine size, plates, silverware and bowls are provided, fridge and microwave were nice. There is a large grocery store one block away on 57th, subways are near, two blocks from Central Park, Time Square is not far
CONS: this con may be the only reason you don't choose this place- you CAN NOT set the thermostat. there is a dial where you can make the room cooler or warmer but It's either on or off on low or high fan. so the room does cool very quickly and does seem to keep the temperature. It was fine for us because I got up earlier than others and turned it off- the only other cons are the water pressure in the shower not very much pressure and the towels are cheap- not soft

I cannot praise The Manhattan Club highly enough. I stayed with a friend in the one bedroom suite. This suite had 2 bathrooms (very hard to find in NY) and a bedroom door that closed, so with the foldout sofa, provided night-time privacy to each guest. There is a small kitchenette, no cooking facilities, but a quick visit to Wholefoods in Columbus Circle provided breakfast supplies and snacks. The Brooklyn Diner is a two minute walk as is Patsy's Italian Restaurant, both highly recommended. Now, the furnishings are a little dated but that can be easily overlooked as the rooms were large and spotless. All staff were very professional and attentive. A big highlight was the Executive Lounge, perfect for a nightcap at the end of a busy day. The hotel is located within an easy walk of Central Park and the theatre district is also conveniently close by as is the subway. We had a wonderful stay at the Manhattan Club and highly recommend for a stress-free visit to NY.

The property, location, and staff were amazing!!!!
Housekeeping cleaned the room, took the garbage, made the bed, and replenished fresh towels daily! It was a nice size room for NYC that allowed us the space to store 2 bicycles. The kitchenette was nice to have and came with popcorn and coffee! I also had friends that stayed on the sleeper sofa for a nigh and said it was very comfortable.
The bell men, security, and front desk team were always smiling and greeting you, and quick with any assistance. The valet parking was convenient and $35 for 24 hours. It you pass that 24 hour mark it goes right to the next $35 so make a mental note of it in advance. A concierge was available in the lobby for any recommendation needs.
Although I didn't get to use it, the fitness room was one of the nicest I have seen. There is also a business center. Both are on the 26th floor with the lounge, along with the ice and vending machines, and bathrooms.
The property is across from Carnegie Hall and had eateries all over. It's a quick few blocks to Central Park, Times Square, 5th Ave, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and Rockefeller Center. It was about 1/2 hour walk to Madison Square Garden, if you don't get distracted, which is quite easy to do in NYC.
We did have a miscommunication about the coffee service. We were told it was free but apparently that was only at a certain time. We went for 2 coffee's and had them separated because one was decaf. The waiter in the room took the coffee's and mixed them up and said they were $15 to be charged to the room, and gave them back. We dumped the coffee's because now we didn't know which was which. Called the front desk and asked for the charge to be removed. They would not remove it but offered 2 breakfast's. We then had to miss other things we could have been doing to go take advantage of this breakfast which was regularly priced at $30 and consisted of coffee, bagels, fruit, and croissants. It was not worth the time or the money had you been paying for it. My room did not initially have decaf in it but I requested some after this incident and they did bring it. The machine in the room is neither drip or Keurig and you have to watch a video to figure out how to work it. I had already packed my own creamer.
They hit it out of the park otherwise, but steer clear of the lounge, unless you like $30 bagels.

Our stay was April 9 to April 16, 2021. We stayed on the 18th floor in a one bedroom suite. We did not use the bar/lounge, the business center, nor the fitness center.
Pros:
• Nice room, nice furniture, and very clean.
• Comfortable bed.
• Courteous staff.
• Convenient location to the subway, Carnegie Hall, and Central Park.
Cons:
• Temperature control is either heat for the whole day or air conditioning for the whole day. While we were there, they still had it on heat because of the cool nights. We are generally comfortable at 67°F and sleep at 65°F. The room was 71°F to 73°F for the first couple days while they tried to “fix” the issue. Finally, their suggestion was for us to open windows. That helped a little (not completely because the windows don’t open very far) but city noises at night are not conducive to a sound sleep.
• Even though it is convenient to the subway, the NYC subway system is not kind to people who have mobility issues.
• The one morning we decided to sleep in, housekeeping called us to see if we would be leaving even though we had their version of a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door. We had been up late and wanted to try to get some extra sleep.
• Then there is the “Service Fee”. Of the $54.51 they charge per day, $7.01 are state and city taxes. The rest, $47.50, is listed as RCI-Hospitality Fee. The more I think about this the more it irks me. I have a timeshare into which I pay annual fees and pay RCI fees (annual and exchange) to be able to exchange that unit. I feel like I have already paid to be there. None of the other RCI places we have used over the past 17 years have charged us a daily fee. None!
• The Manhattan Club says there is Concierge service. Other than the gentleman who checked us in at the Concierge Desk, not once did we see anyone at that desk. At first, I blamed it on the COVID shutdown but then I realized that there were lots of workers around (behind the front desk, a security guard stationed between the front door and the elevator, and there was a hotel porter helping with luggage and cars).
• TV Channel choices were a bit limited for fun entertainment. I know this is a bit nit-picky but who doesn’t even offer the Food Network?

Stayed here via RCI exchange. Our room was on the 18th floor, 1 bedroom unit, not much of a view but that wasn’t a big deal for us. The room was clean (very important to me) and spacious. I can not imagine a more centrally located hotel as home base to explore the city. Across the street from Carnegie Hall, easy walk to Central Park, Times Square, Columbus Circle and tons of food options. Hotel charges $50+ per day for RCI guests, but even with that it was still way less expensive than a comparable hotel with this location and with a full separate bedroom and 2 full bathrooms. It was perfect for our family of 4. As others have noted, it is very quiet despite the location and the perfect respite after long days traversing the city.
