Requested early check, was told maybe possible, did not happened. Instead returned back at 3pm standard check in and was told reserved room was still not available. Shortly after another 15min room became available. Sadly the room was missing a few amenities that sealed the deal to request a refund and cancel reservation and checked into another hotel with excellent amenity services. Future travelers - Please do not consider this location because if you do - you will feel bent out of shape and very disappointed. Note to property managers of Bentley Hotel - please consider taking better care of property and update front lobby, lobby bathrooms, front desk, most importantly pictures do not reflect true property guest rooms. Respectfully, Disappointed traveler

I’ve stayed here before and it was very nice hence my return. Over the years the neighborhood has changed and the long walk to the subway takes up a lot of time. Did not mind this in the past as you pass lovely brownstones but this time found this less charming. The hotel itself really needs an upgrade or should be 2 stars. Not many room amenities like a coffee maker and the hotel offers no food or drink. The little bodega is a block away luckily. Service is poor, almost nonexistent. Rooms are beaten up and need upgrading. Beds are very basic and cheap, mattress about three inches thick. Next day asked for towels as housekeeping did not replace all of them that day. I waited about thirty minutes. Called again to remind them as I wanted to go out for the evening. Then received a call from someone asking me not to make duplicate requests and how much trouble I was causing. Told me not to do this in the future. Believe me I will not as I will not return. Next NYC trip will be staying at a major brand. My advice, unless you have someone at the medical facilities stay somewhere more central, and where the staff is nice. Also get the highest floor as the road noise is very loud all night if you do stay at the Bentley.

My family came in to NYC and although we booked through a third party Nicole and Jaria went above and beyond to accommodate our family. The location was great and walking distance to everything we needed. Would definitely come back! Jamell

This hotel feels central to a lot of things/attractions on anyone's list to see in NYC. The metro, museums, central park, shops, retaurants, etc... are all within 5-10 minute walk (at a average pace). However, the hotel rooms are meh and the people who work there are hit and miss when it comes to getting help. Often times I was standing at the front desk and not helped. And it wasn't because I didn't come in demanding to be seen. One rep even said she saw me, but then forgot. LOL...I guess focusing on this other customer's business dealings with the manager was too juicy for her to pass up. And the room they had us in was the most sketchy room ever. DO NOT ACCEPT room 306: no chain to lock door, fridge doesn't close, smoke detector broken off and removed, tub spout broken out and hanging, attached room (to who? don't kno...so we propped a chair under the knob), no closet, instead a very banged up and very small armoire, and on and on. It was so sketchy that we recorded everything incase management tried to pin the damages on us. I suggest you do the same (for any of the rooms at the Bentley). Again, do not accept room 306 especially if you're female and by yourself. In the end, did I complain while there? No. I felt that if they ignored me when I was in front of them needing assistance then they certainly would ignore my request for a better room.

I stayed here with my husband a few nights because I had a surgery at the Sloan Robertson Center, which is right across the street from the Bentley. That was the best feature of the hotel, the rest of the stay was disappointing. This hotel’s entrance is small and the police barely give you enough time to get your luggage in and out of a cab before yelling at the driver to move it! We had to wait almost an hour for our room to be ready at check in. Supposedly the hotel was overbooked and they were having trouble getting rooms cleaned. The front desk people and the manager kept in phone contact about rooms as they came available; many other people were like us sitting in the lobby waiting for a room. Don’t expect any frills. You get a small refrigerator and 2 bottles of water a day for your resort fee. Because of Covid, they will clean a room every three days, but will bring you towels if you need them and empty your trash if you ask, thank you. There is nothing to eat or drink at this hotel but there is some sort of room service provided by an outside vendor. Most of the immediate neighborhood is parking garages. Thankfully I brought my own provisions. The lack of any sort of coffeemakers or coffee options at a hotel is annoying. We did find a charming old school bar that serves food, One Lenox, and there is a market across from it- these are a several block walk from the hotel. If you are having surgery at the Robertson Center, there is a very reasonably priced cafe for people accompanying surgical patients that serves breakfast and lunch. My husband spent a lot of time waiting around during my surgery and I will say the Queensboro bridge view room with the river view is quite nice, would recommend that, you can see interesting boat traffic. Would book again for the location but don’t expect much else.
