The room was very clean, good AC with temperature control, comfortable bed, modern space. The area around was also nice and felt safe coming back to the hotel at night. Close to the subway and some great cafes. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others!

Checkin process was sooo easy. Instructions were sent ahead of time, very clear, and hassle free. The room was small, but offers everything you need when you’re just looking for a place to sleep. Very clean, elegant looking, quiet, and safe.

Stayed in March 2020 and was forced to leave early due to Covid. I was promised a refund for the nights we didn’t use and have been fighting for over a year to get my money. They are just ignoring me now after numerous emails. I was assured once things reopened and their finance team went back to work this would be processed but now my emails are ignored and I’ve lost a lot of money. Don’t stay somewhere like this and use a more reputable hotel.

Mother sister and niece arrived late night, great location but facilities akin to industrial setting, carpets worn out and so on. No room service nor there was any restaurant although advertised as having one. Staff not accommodating. Left the hotel 3 nights early to switch to the Grand Hyatt - still fighting hoping for the refund either from hotel or from Expedia.

I can’t say enough how amazing the stay has been. The room is spacious and well appointed and very clean. On a nice quiet street but the most amazing thing about this place is the customer service. Rasya and Matthew (front desk) were warm and inviting and really went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Because of them we will be back and tell all our friends and family about this amazing boutique hotel.

I always wondered what it would be like to live on the LES of NYC. Staying at the Sago Hotel gave me that experience. The Sago is a very clean, comfortable, and relaxed hotel that allowed me to have both privacy and a sense of security, knowing that I was well-taken care of. The location is excellent for those who love downtown -- convenient to transportation, restaurants, galleries, and a short walk into the heart of LES, Soho and Nolita. My guests opted to meet me at my "apartment" and order dinner in because my space at the Sago was so inviting. But when I wanted to go out, everything from breakfast cafes to late-night bars were within easy walking distance. Plus I had wonderful sunset views looking west toward the Hudson!

I arrived at the Sago Hotel after an unexpectedly long day of travel. I was in town for business Tuesday-Thursday and had to reschedule my Tuesday meetings so I was a bit stressed and weary after landing at JFK. When I arrived to Sago I was greeted by Matthew at the door who took my carry-on up the small flight of stairs to the front desk. When he asked how my flight was I told him a bit difficult, but what can you do about the weather! He was very sympathetic to the weary traveler. He took my credit card and ID to the back office as I waited in the quaint and cozy lobby area. I couldn’t believe how quiet it was once I was inside. I couldn’t hear any of the rush hour hustle and bustle of NYC. When Matthew returned moments later, he gave me news I couldn’t believe: Sago upgraded my room to a suite complimentary. It was the most genuine moment and I could’ve cried tears of joy, especially seeing the soaking tub when I got to the room! Throughout my two night stay, Matthew and the other woman (I’m sorry I can’t recall your name!) were so helpful and kind. I can’t wait to return to Sago for both business and personal travel. This is a gem of a boutique hotel. Also, two of the best nights sleep ever. Most comfortable bed. Thank you, Sago and the wonderful staff!

This is a terrific little boutique hotel in a great location on the lower Eastside. Our room was well thought out in its layout, comfortable, and very beautifully, minimally designed. The location in terms of restaurants and things that you can walk to couldn’t be better. The lobby is tiny, with the smallest front desk you could possibly imagine, but the staff was very helpful with whatever we needed. Our king bed was really comfortable and our room, overlooking Orchard Street, was remarkably quiet. We also had a tiny kitchenette, which was helpful a couple of times during our stay. The subway is just a block away, and it’s always easy to get cabs or Ubers out front. I look forward to staying at the Sago again.

By far the most enjoyable hotel stay I have ever had in the city. From making my reservation, having to cancel that previous trip, being able to re-book with the same rate, then being upgraded to an amazing suite, this was one of the best trips ever. The room itself was so sleek, modern and simple, which totally fits my aesthetic. There was no excess furniture or decoration, and everything in the room was there for a reason. Being able to look out over Allen was such a treat, but the blinds provided the perfect amount of darkness for sleeping in. If you are looking for an A+ boutique hotel in the heart of downtown's restaurants/nightlife - this is your place. I loved being within walking distance to Whole Foods, Equinox Orchard Street, Round K and the Meatball Shop, and pretty much anything else you could want is right outside your door. And to top it all off, the staff was incredible. Make sure you speak with Matthew if you can. He's so willing to help and is an absolute star! Will definitely be staying there again sooner than later!!
