My boyfriend and I were staying in New York for 4 days! We chose YMCA Westside because of the location to central park in relation to the price. (We are students) Its our first time in New York and when we arrived at West Side YMCA, we were greeted with such friendly and helpful staff. Our baggage was delayed at...

The hostel wasn't great quality but provided what you need for a trip to New York, a bed and quick access to the city(a bed and a shower). The view from my room was great as it was on the eleventh floor, however, the floor was very dirty, the tv didn't work, the heating didn't work(bare in mind this was...

Despite all the comments about the quality of this place compared to the price, I totally disagree that it's worth! I'm saying that because I've stayed in the Vanderbilt YMCA, and it's far more clean, organised, comfortable and above all: the staff was friendly and helpful. I can't tell you the same about the West Side. First of all, we...

Manhattan is an expensive city for hotels so my choice is always YMCA Westside. I'll get a room at either of the two top floors. The rooms are rough but the beds are ok. The gym is the hidden gem of this place. You can enter free of charge, take a refreshening shower and chill out in the sauna or...

We stayed here for 2 nights, 30 sept - 1 oct 2016. Let's take it from the beginning: We got to the hotel around 10-11 in the morning, and they told us that the check in isn't until 2 30 pm, so we had to let our baggage (it's 2$/piece and they keep it until 11pm). We went to grab...

Stayed here for 1 night as this was so well located - we were actually staying in NJ for our great NYC visit but decided to see a show (Aladdin) as a special family treat and didn't want to fiddle around with trains so late at night (&wake our host!). Hence we wanted a cheap room (2 actually) that was...

I'll get this off the table straight away, the staff were really nice and helpful. That's my only real positive in this review, I just felt the pricing and reviews on booking.com were the exact opposite. The rooms are severely dated, the cost of the rooms is wildly high for what was on offer. I would never ever stay here...

Blame it on expensive hotel rate elsewhere, I stayed here because of it's cheaper. On the plus side, the location is very very good. Daily room cleaning was omitted even I returned to my room at 2pm on Sunday. I read again and again on their guest information book: "We like to keep our room clean, if you place "do...

I went on a four day trip to NYC with friends, and was delighted to find somewhere so cheap to stay. The location was great, a minutes walk to Columbus's circle subway station and around 10 mins from Times Square, it was ideal. I know the rooms were cheap, but there is only so much that can be lacking. The...
