The Waldorf is a very special place, a classic hotel and art deco gem where presidents and world leaders have stayed (General Douglas MacArthur lived in one of the suites with his wife from 1951 until his death in 1964). I am so sad to see this grande dame close her doors; it is one of a kind in a... More

It was too bad that we did not have te time to join the Waldorf astoria hotel tour. Front desk should have informed us about the tour at time we checked in. John Vla and Rebecca Villasenor we both helpful and courtous. We will definitely stay again after the renovation in 2020.

This was a wonderful stay for us, and the hotel was a huge part of that. What a beautiful place to come home to each night. Service from every aspect was perfect, and Jennifer at the front desk made us welcome from the start. I can't wait to see what renovations and updates bring to this beautiful hotel. I hope... More

We went to the Waldorf Astoria because we wanted to celebrate the holidays in a historic manner and my birthday all at the same time. We requested help from the hotel months in advance to try and help us make plans for my birthday on New Years Eve. Concierge never responded during the three months prior to us staying with... More

We have stayed in the hotel a few times, both in the Waldorf and in Waldorf Towers. It's in a great location, and it's reputation as a cultural icon doesn't disappoint. The hotel is unique, with beautiful decor and host of original art deco features and furnishings, which give the hotel an air of luxury. Service is efficient but not overly... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Waldorf to celebrate her special birthday. As a native New Yorker she wanted to return to the city to see some shows and attractions and to shop. I told them about her special birthday and they went all out to make sure it was special. We had a beautiful room over... More

Service, comfort, perfection - everything fits together in a traditional frame and gives you a wonderful feeling throughout your stay - thanks to a very attentive staff. Definitely a hotel to come back to. Good in house restaurants add to the very positive impression.

We are returning guests at the Waldorf, and this time it was even better than our previous stays. A big thank you goes out to Tim T. for making our 18th wedding anniversary weekend even more special. The room (#1911) was even better than we expected and the strawberries/champagne was the icing on the cake. The entire staff of Waldorf... More

This is definitely a historic landmark in NYC. It still maintains a lot of its charm and uniqueness and carries the wow factor. Staff is very friendly and polite and do all they can to make you feel welcome. The hotel could definitely do with a refresh though, since the hotel has aged a bit in certain ways (especially plumming... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
