As Michael Douglas and Catherine Zita Jones had their wedding reception here we decided to go there.NY was on our honeymoon travels. The lobby was lavish in a classy way. The bar had a beautiful wooden panel finish and the service was good. The rooms were normal and we had booked it at a normal price. Good location. We enjoyed... More

My daughters planned a surprise birthday trip to NYC for my birthday, and booked the stay at the Waldorf because of exceptional rates offered. Upon learning of the reason for our stay, Angel at the front desk upgraded our room, provided for a roll-out bed, gave us vouchers for free drinks and delivered cupcakes to our room. I've stayed at... More

We took a "spur of the moment" trip to NYC - having saved on the flight, I had a little extra to spend on the hotel. Without a tight budget, it was possible to wait until the price was acceptable. Amazingly the price came down a long way (below a lot of other high end establishments). We booked a room... More

It's obviously in need of upgrading. The lobby is as grand as it's reputation and historic value. But the restrooms need updating. The lower ground floors stink. Lacks bell boys. Staff are not exactly as friendly as you would expect from a hotel this size.

I was fortunate enough to stay at the Waldorf Astoria for 4 nights in July 2016. I attended a conference which was being held at the hotel. When I heard the conference was being held here, I was excited; I had heard of the hotel but never visited before. The hotel takes up a whole city block, so it is... More

Very comfortable accommodations. I had an excellent Waldorf salad made using the original hotel recipe. There was a good bar with extensive drink selection. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were allowed to check in early and to accommodations better than we had reserved.

I have personally stayed at The Waldorf Astoria in NYC a couple of times and it has always been great. However, this time, it wasn't just great, it was out of this world. I actually sent my parents on a getaway to NYC for their 39th wedding anniversary and they stayed at The Waldorf. I stood in line at reception... More

My husband and I were in the city celebrating a friends birthday and stayed at the towers of the Waldorf Astoria. The room was beautiful and we had a great view. Highly recommend. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was very attentive.

Loved it -of course excellent location-nice room that was a corner king spacious and lovely-they should have coffee machines in all rooms for guests -some conference rooms rather small and would be great if there were more bathrooms but overall great

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
