This hotel deserves 4.5 stars, but I had to give it only 3 stars based on this stay for the following: room not ready for check in, and although great water pressure, there was no hot water unless you let the water run for about 15 minutes before use. I did advise the front desk that they should let future... More

Rooms were nice. Staff was very friendly & professional. The location couldn't have been better. Our only complaint was having trouble connecting to Wifi & no coffee pot in the room. However, when we asked at the front desk, they sent us up a Keurig.

Stunning lobby and common areas. The regular rooms can be small though and overall it shows its age. The location is great. Love the historical aspects of the place but overall needs a bit of a refresh in some areas too. Enjoyed eating in the restaurant- good food and interesting people. For work it's great- not a family place if... More

I stayed one night on June 14th. Great history and overall it was nice stay. However, when I turned on the water I. The shower, it came out like coffee and had a horrible smell. I almost threw up!! It cleared after 30 or 40 seconds but was not going to get in that Shower EVER!!! For the price that's... More

I was so excited to stay here, but that soon turned to disappointment. The hotel itself is just breathtaking and beautiful, however the rooms are extremely outdated. The bed smaller than a double, the bathroom dirty. For over $500 a night you expect a little better standard. The elevators were always broken, when you approach staff they simply did not... More

In its heyday, the Waldorf was a New York City landmark--featured in films, the destination of stars. Yet during my recent visit, it felt as though this iconic hotel had slipped a notch or two. It is still a beautiful building with an impressive lobby. The room was comfortable. Nevertheless, I encountered three problems that I would not expect to... More

Through the years we have stayed in many places ranging from no stars to 5 plus stars. Our experiences with the higher end hotels have been sheek, pampered, posh, trendy, and sleek. NYC hotel ratings can be misleading, a 5 star in New York could be equal to a 3.5 to 4 in Vegas. I really wanted a weekend experience... More

As Michael Douglas and Catherine Zita Jones had their wedding reception here we decided to go there.NY was on our honeymoon travels. The lobby was lavish in a classy way. The bar had a beautiful wooden panel finish and the service was good. The rooms were normal and we had booked it at a normal price. Good location. We enjoyed... More

My daughters planned a surprise birthday trip to NYC for my birthday, and booked the stay at the Waldorf because of exceptional rates offered. Upon learning of the reason for our stay, Angel at the front desk upgraded our room, provided for a roll-out bed, gave us vouchers for free drinks and delivered cupcakes to our room. I've stayed at... More

We took a "spur of the moment" trip to NYC - having saved on the flight, I had a little extra to spend on the hotel. Without a tight budget, it was possible to wait until the price was acceptable. Amazingly the price came down a long way (below a lot of other high end establishments). We booked a room... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
