Walking into the Waldorf, you immediately know you are in a world of timeless elegance. The staff is very attentive and you will be spoiled by ever wanting to stay anywhere else. Out room on the 11th floor was lovely. It doesn't have the new modern feel as most of the hotels in NYC, but we didn't mind as the... More

The hotel is lovely with some amazing touches. The rooms are very nice. Ours had a nice sized bathroom and comfortable bed. When we checked in, the service was exactly what I would expect from a multi-star hotel. The check-in clerk was friendly and informative. Then we went to the concierge and had a whole different experience. The man working... More

Wonderful visit to this historic hotel. Our room was older, but very comfortable and surprisingly large. It's the kind of hotel-- you hope doesn't update the rooms too much. It wouldn't feel right if it was too modern. A great visit all in all.

An excellent hotel with excellent service. Staff was attentive and made us feel welcome. Nice area to stay for a relaxing weekend. Great location, easy access to transportation at Grand Central Station. This hotel is classic and remains so in today's "high tech" society. Its a great getaway for those looking to slow the pace.

This hotel has got to be one of the most iconic building in NYC made more so famous by the movie, Coming to America. To be honest, it was a real let down. Myself and my friend stayed here for 8 nights. The room was very old and dated however was pleasant enough. The only real issue we had was... More

We stayed at The Waldorf Astoria as a family of five. I had stayed previously and felt the hotel would be a good place to stay due to the location and room size. The suite we had was large with two rooms and two bathrooms. The hotel provided us with a comfortable roller bed as an extra. The double beds... More

We loved this hotel! The lobby is so iconic and beautifully decorated. The rooms are a tiny bit tired, but with the forthcoming refurbishment, this will be sorted. Lots of photos all around the hotel, showing it in it's heyday, and all the famous patrons - from presidents to film stars. Service was impeccable and discreet - from the concierge... More

Rooms are tired with a constant smell of mould everywhere. Dirty looking walls, stained flooring, tired and smelly bathroom, tired room furnishings. It's a shame given its status and location potential. We travel a lot, and stay in various hotels around the world, from 3 stars to 6 stars depending on the country we are visiting, and I could not... More

We do not typically stay at very high end rooms. This made me want to change that philosophy. They staff to patron ratio is amazing...everyone was very helpful. I am sad this is closing.. This is NYC elegance at its best. If you are in NYC before March 2017 I would suck it up and pay the premium to experience... More

We've stayed here many times over the years and it has always been a first-class experience, especially since they upgraded the rooms, etc. However, recently they outdid themselves. Now, admittedly, some of it may have been due to my Diamond status but, to be fair, I think their level of service is consistent even if you are not. My wife... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
