I enjoyed the iconic and buzzing lobby, and the general location, but my room was old and in need of an update. The elevator was efficient, but the hallways felt a bit drab. The vaunted service seems to be missing these days.

The Waldorf is in a great area of town and everything in New York is easily accessible. There is a lot of history to this old building and it is great to say that you stayed there. The rooms are old and they are going to close it soon and revamp it as condo's (at least parts of it). Everyone... More

Second visit to this iconic hotel and as on the first visit really enjoyed our stay. We travelled with family celebrating two birthdays and our honeymoon. The hotel upgrades our initial rooms to larger rooms, although a little tired they were clean and we kinda like the original features. We did have an incident in our room which was quickly... More

This was my first time staying at the Waldorf Astoria. I was in town for business the following week, but decided to come a little early and spend the weekend relaxing. I booked a suite at the hotel, which was surprisingly competitive with other hotels in midtown Manhattan that lack the charm or reputation. I could not have been happier.... More

We whisked through the landmark lobby to a spacious (upgraded) room and enjoyed every aspect of our two-night weekend stay at the Waldorf Astoria. It is a special place and we hope that the upcoming renovation will retain the accessibility and elegance of this legendary hotel.

We stayed in a suite for one night. There were two large flatscreen TVs and a very nice sofa. The most comfortable bed ever. We called room service for a drink. The service was reasonably quick but very very expensive. Only issue was the wifi would not connect in the suite.

We spent 4 nights at the Waldorf and loved every second of it. We were staying for our wedding anniversary & were upgraded at check in, which we were surprised at as they were very busy and hotels were scarce that week as the UN General Assembly was taking place. Ricky at check in was very helpful & informative. Frank... More

Walking into the Waldorf, you immediately know you are in a world of timeless elegance. The staff is very attentive and you will be spoiled by ever wanting to stay anywhere else. Out room on the 11th floor was lovely. It doesn't have the new modern feel as most of the hotels in NYC, but we didn't mind as the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
