I stay here a lot and always get a welcome at the door. Beds are comfortable with lots of pillows. Bar is an acquired taste but there's loads of places to go just outside the front door. Pretty much left to yourself but staff always friendly if you need them

We got a great deal on a weekend getaway and decided to stay here in Manhattan. Not wanting to be late for our show we decided to eat in the hotel. We noted the service was slow, the place busy and when we placed our order we asked if it could be brought out all at once and faster than...

Stayed as a couple for 4 nights. Great location - 3 minutes to Time Square in one direction, and 4 minutes to Grand Central in the other direction. In the evenings, the bar and lobby are very chilled with great music and atmosphere. Like a chill-out area in a night club. Room was clean and well equipped. Bathrooms and decor...

My girlfriend and I chose this hotel because it was close to Times Square and had 'one of the best bathrooms in New York', according to an article I read. This hotel met my expectations. The room was spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York for the first...

I have been may times in this hotel. Excellent stay over the weekend in room 909. Had an issue with the window that was quickly resolved. Great location, amazing decor and friendly staff. I think those who comment that the hotel is dark just don't get it. Only issue is that you can't get a coffee in the morning and have to go to a diner next door....

I initially became aware of the Royalton by being a vendor. I had to attend a trade show in Times Sq and NO WAY was I staying in any TS hotel. Room was small but well appointed comfortable. Floor was quite and I heard no noise which was quite a trick for Midtown Manhattan. Proximity to everything in Midtown theatre...

It's now 2017 and they still are charging $15/day for wifi. The housekeeping staff is very enthusiastic. They knocked on my door at 9am looking to clean the room, and then came back again 15 minutes later.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Morgans commissioned Roman Williams, to re-create Royalton's legendary lobby. The design - simultaneously sophisticated and complex - juxtaposes an icy cast-glass vestibule and brass furnishings with soft suede upholstery, thick leather walls and hide-covered chairs to create a dark, sexy and luxurious space. Design and architectural details include a mammoth floor-to-ceiling hand forged cast-bronze fireplace, a twenty-foot screen that was once part of the facade of a building in France and hand-upholstered leather walls. ... more   less
