Great location. Cozy rooms. No coffee in rooms and the restaurants coffee was cold and charged over 7.O0. Bar neat and different. Ice is only available through room service. Good eatery's nearby. Internet pricey.

This was our second stay at The Royalton. We choose this hotel because of its location near Broadway theaters, and for its high energy lobby and bar. I think the hotel needs some refurbishing as the elevator carpets were filthy and some corners of the bathroom looked like they were either worn or not clean. This was disappointing as we...

This is a wonderful hotel, close to Byrant Park, 5 ave shopping, times square, theater... The hotel is very chic, nicely decorated, and we paid extra to have a bigger room. It's fantastic! The only thing is I believe they do charge for wifi...

The Royalton is a boutique property with a little flair for the dramatic at night (the lighting in the lobby is dim). While I did not try out the lobby bar, the lobby area was inviting and quiet. The restaurant was on the side of the hotel facing the Grace building, so entry on that side takes you through the...

This was a great find considering hotels in New york can be quite pricey. I got a great deal on our stay so I really have nothing to complain about other than it would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room. Our room was clean, so I'm not sure about other people's experience saying it was dirty....

Great bar! But during my stay, the air conditioner made intermittent clattering noises, which woke me and my husband up all night long. Worst sleep I've ever had in a hotel. The room was tiny and the view was downright depressing. It was a pretty awful experience overall. We had to choose between the clattering noises or being too hot....

Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Found hotel during the day a bit dark. Could do with being brighter. For the price of the room I think wifi should be included in the price. $14.95 per 24hours is extortionate. Good bar. Big room with nice shower and toiletries. Bed was lovely and big but too soft.

This was my sixth or seventh stay at the Royalton in New York City, and as always the Royalton delivered. Impeccable service and a good restaurant on lobby floor. The room was a bit smaller than some of the rooms that I had in earlier stays but was not one of those tiny rooms you get in some NY hotels....

Stayed in a loft suite May 12-15 and it was great . Very spacious and huge, deep circular tub in bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good location within easy walking distance of Bryant Park and 5th Avenue is steps away. No coffee maker or room service but there's a kiosk-type coffee place across the street from the back...

The Royalton is well located in the heart of Midtown, easy walking distance to Times Square, Bryant Park, New York Public Library and subway stations. It was clean and modern in both the public areas and the bedroom and bathroom. The shower was amazing, probably one of the best I've had in a hotel with plenty of hot water and...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Morgans commissioned Roman Williams, to re-create Royalton's legendary lobby. The design - simultaneously sophisticated and complex - juxtaposes an icy cast-glass vestibule and brass furnishings with soft suede upholstery, thick leather walls and hide-covered chairs to create a dark, sexy and luxurious space. Design and architectural details include a mammoth floor-to-ceiling hand forged cast-bronze fireplace, a twenty-foot screen that was once part of the facade of a building in France and hand-upholstered leather walls. ... more   less
