By far now one of my favoritehoteld in nyc. The atmosphere is absolutely fabulous, the staff for the most part is welcoming and nice. The bar has a great selection of beverages and the price is reasonable. The breakfast is not that great and there's no coffee pots in the room but the cleanliness and size of the rooms compensate... The rooms are OK and very clean and comfy. They're not large but not much different then other similar priced rooms in NYC. We were on the 12th floor and the sounds were very quite. The concierge was very helpful and the other staff very nice. The only negative is when you walk into the lobby during the day time... More

Great location, just 2 blocks from Grand Central, one block from Bryant Park. Small rooms, the bed is not a Queen Size as in the pictures. WiFi is not included in the rate and is expensive. Very dark hotel, is not a familiar hotel but a postoffice drink place.

A round tub that could have fit 6 people easily, candles everywhere, and a wood burning fireplace courtesy of our upgrade, this was easily the largest and most retro suite we have ever stayed in. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were of high quality. Only quibble was that the room was beginning to show its age: scuff... More

Pretty poor overall for what is supposedly a trendy boutique hotel. No room service. Only a $25 continental breakfast available at weekends etc.. It's closing down soon, the lease is up. And it feels like it. There are better places for the money.

We stayed here for 8 nights during our first visit to NYC. The hotel is very well located and only a 5 min walk to Times Square. This place is well appointed and the rooms were above average, although on the smaller side. The lounge and bar areas were very comfortable and they make very good cocktails. The main negative... This was my first time staying at a Morgan hotel. I visited a friend at the Mondrian in LA, I thought it was awesome. My expectations for the Royalton were very high. My experience was incredible and the location couldn't have been any better. Very close to the theaters and Time Square. My fiancé and I opted for the Loft... More

Had a lovely stay at Royalton! Love the location. It is amazing. Took around 15 min to walk to Central Park and 5 min away from major Broadway theatre. Staff are polite. They act quickly upon your request.

We booked this hotel for our getaway based on location and a good deal that we found. After staying here, we both agree that we would return. Our highlights: - the location can't be beat. You are close enough to Times Square and all the theaters so you can walk instead of sitting in traffic in a cab. Yet you... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Morgans commissioned Roman Williams, to re-create Royalton's legendary lobby. The design - simultaneously sophisticated and complex - juxtaposes an icy cast-glass vestibule and brass furnishings with soft suede upholstery, thick leather walls and hide-covered chairs to create a dark, sexy and luxurious space. Design and architectural details include a mammoth floor-to-ceiling hand forged cast-bronze fireplace, a twenty-foot screen that was once part of the facade of a building in France and hand-upholstered leather walls. ... more   less
