My husband and I stayed at the Loews Regency this Mother’s Day weekend. Ms Marioara Sfera checked us in with warm hospitality and consummate professionalism. The standard she set was mirrored during our stay. Special thanks to Keturah who was able to accommodate us at the restaurant during the busy holiday morning.
My family has just returned from an Easter holiday in New York City. We spent a week at The Regency and enjoyed every moment of our stay. With hotel rates skyrocketing, it was a relief to find something reasonable in such a desirable part of the city. Excellent restaurants in close proximity, not to mention the Regency Bar and Grill. Some of the friendliest service in the city and terrific comfort food. Our accommodations at the hotel were lovely. Good size for the two of us and simple elegance with the decor. Very comfortable bedding. Housekeeping was efficient and super clean - given what's gone on in the world over the last two years, I've become used to limited second rate service, even when you're paying top dollar. Not at the Regency. This was exceptional service all around. With family in the city, I look forward to returning often and now, to me, The Regency is a part of my New York.I can't wait to go back. Thank you for a memorable stay and a very Happy Easter!…
I was able to spend 2 weekends in a row at this hotel and I cannot say enough great things about the service. Robert & Ela at the concierge desk have to be 2 of the best and brightest in the city. Extremely knowledgeable about the area and directing towards the perfect spot you are looking for. The bartenders are all so friendly and I looked forward to spending part of my evening with them each night. Kyle, Giuseppe, and Sonny were very attentive. They all run circles around the bar and we so polite. Housekeeping team were fantastic and even walking down the hallway they would ask you if you were going down and press the button for you for less of a wait time. Everyone anticipated our needs throughout the trip. I will definitely be back and everyone should stay here.
The room is dismal. There is no coffee pot. As an Amex Fine Hotel this does not meet that standard. On a good note, the windows open for fresh air. Unusual in a nyc hotel. And, the staff is lovely. Tries to be old school nyc glamour, but just does not accomplish that. Incoherent design.
Lovely old hotel, but the service was pretty lackluster. Front door staff was unfriendly to almost surly. Housekeeping staff was nice and the room was well kept, but the housekeeping cart was kept in the open in the hallway all day (not a luxury hotel look). And paying over $1,000/night for a suite came with no warning that they were renovating the room right next to us, and I had to do conference calls with drilling in the background. Would not recommend this hotel. I’ve never had issues, but this was pretty bad.
The Loewe's Regency was the perfect place to stay for a weekend in the city, which allowed us to walk every place we wanted to go - from the MET to Central Park, the Theatre district and everything in between. The beds are divine - so comfortable. The hotel is lovely - and quiet, so there was no noise within hotel or from the outside to disturb sleep. We loved it and hope to go back!
I have actually reviewed this hotel previously but am taking the time to give another shout out! My husband and I visit the Regency at least three times a year. There has never been a time that we were not treated like old friends returning for a visit. We are greeted warmly by the entire staff, including door men and concierges. The staff makes every effort to make our stay very special. No request is treated as a bother. I would highly recommend the Regency as your New York go-to hotel!
The hotel generally was fine, but the quality of service and lack of room amenities was far below what one would expect from a five-star hotel. The staff could definitely have been more attentive and friendly. No coffee machine, wine glasses, corkscrew in the room. Inconsistent maid serve - taking away toiletries and not replacing them, bathmats disappearing and reappearing, not replacing coffee supplies. We had a mini kitchen, but there were no plates, knives or forks.. We had to jerry rig the bathmats to prevent water from pouring out of the shower. The most egregious occurrence was when my wife had some pants delivered to the hotel. We expected the pants to arrive by six on the Saturday. We heard nothing from the staff. I called and was told nothing had arrived, I went to the front desk and was told nothing had arrived. On the Monday we followed up with the clothing store and were assured the pants had been delivered. After several more calls to the front desk, and after we insisted the pants were in the hotel, they were finally found! Our name, address and room number were prominently written on the clothing bag Ridiculous. Once again, not the level one would expect from a purported five-star hotel and certainly not worth the price. …
We had an absolutely lovely stay at this Park Avenue location. The staff was very friendly, and the room was immaculate. We had plenty of towels and space. Convenient parking made it easy to arrive by car. Easy walking distance to The Met and Broadway. Only 2 blocks from Central Park, close to the children's zoo.
Rooms are in a state of disrepair and are pretty gross. Served stale bread and moldy berries. Pillows are marshmallow soft and the bed is rock hard. The edible food is obviously expensive and you would do better to not eat at the restaurant. The staff is nice.
