I surprised my husband with a trip to New York for our 3rd wedding anniversary. We thought we were going to stay at the Westin in Savannah Ga instead I booked it at the Westin in New York. The location is awesome! It's close to good restaurants and Grand Central Station. We knew we could go just about anywhere in the city and as long as we could find our way to Grand Central we could find the hotel. When we arrived it was hustling and busting with lots of guests. We were just excited to be in New York. When we got to our room we immediately smelled smoke. We were put in a smoking room and neither one of us smoke. It was a little bit of a damper on our trip. However we didn't come to New York to just hang out the in room all day. We were there for a total of 36 hours. One our first and only night we laid down to sleep and it was very apparent we weren't going to sleep with the sounds of New York outside. My husband called the lobby and they brought earbuds to us quick! It was a godsend! We wouldn't have been able to sleep without them. Check out was around lunch (I think) We had a flight to catch at 9pm so we didn't want to lug our backpacks around all day. They had a place we could store them until we were ready to pick them up. We really appreciated that! Saved our backs and our trip. All in all it was a good stay, other than the smell of the room. We would go again

Visited with my wife for a NYC weekend vacation. It is pricy at this time of the year. However it is great, as expected. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was as comfortable as in the memory. Of course the location is something few other places can beat. The service was good, really nothing to complain about. Will definitely come back again.

Nice clean hotel in a nice location. Not too far from the main attractions but far enough that streets are not over crowded with pedestrians (on weekend). I think it is a perfect hotel for business travel or adults only. It is not so much fun with small children. I would have preferred to be closer to Rockefeller Center. The hotel itself was clean with a nice, fresh decor. The staffs were very friendly. The breakfast room service was ok, not outstanding though, especially for the price. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

First of all, to the manager who clearly copies and pastes the same response to reviews, just stop it. It is verbatim the same response. It is meaningless, so unless you have something unique to write, don't bother responding. The reason that this Westin is far, far from being one of the nicer Westin I've visited is that housekeeping is absolutely poor. When I arrived, the bathroom floor had many very dark hairs all over the floor. I have blond hair. The hairs were not mine. Luckily, I brought my own Handiwipes and could clean surfaces in the room myself. I did say something to housekeeping and they eventually cleaned it. My question is, why didn't they do it in the first place. Overall, this hotel seriously needs some attention. It would not be a place I would choose again based on the high cost and the lack of cleanliness.
