Fantastic check in experience and friendly reception by Pei at the front desk of the Grand Central New York . Quick and efficient. Rooms spacious , clean and all the staff friendly- would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay on a visit to NY.
Really great stay and great employees! My adult daughter and I stayed at this property for a mom/daughter trip. I should mention I am a Platinum Bonvoy member but I don’t know that my experience would have been different otherwise. Location is 20 minutes from LGA. About a $40 cab ride (Uber was 1.5x that). The gentleman at the front door were chatting with one another before my cab pulled up. They were having a great time, laughing and clearly enjoying one another’s company. This is a sign of high engagement and a sign of two colleagues enjoying one another’s company. It was so nice to see. When I arrived they were very attentive and helped me immediately with my bag. (Don’t forget to tip)! The lobby was busy but was checked in quickly and the gentlemen who checked me in was wonderful. He was kind enough to provide me with 2 free drink tickets, which was very welcomed. The room was a double on the 36th floor. It’s quite large for a NYC room. The accommodations are very well appointed and I always love my heavenly bed and White Tea body products. The bar in the lobby was very nice and had a great dinner menu, although we didn’t dine there, the food looked great. We did enjoy an evening at the bar and our bartenders were great and ensured we had everything we needed. We liked the location of the hotel. It’s midtown but not Times Square, which was great. I’m fortunate enough to travel to NYC enough that I don’t need to be in all that craze. We had breakfast on Sunday AM. They only offer a buffet for breakfast (or a few items to go) so that was a disappointment. I wasn’t nearly hungry enough for the buffet but had to pay $40 for it anyway. The buffet was fine. Nothing special. Im also gluten free so that never leaves options for me. The employees at the restaurant were great. Very busy and hustling to accommodate the busy diners. Just a great stay. I may have found my new place to in NYC! Great job of the GM/managers and all the employees.…
A great hotel to stay at in NYC in a great location to many attractions such as Empire State Building and Times Square, but away from the noise and congestion of those areas. And really close to Grand Central Station and transit. There was a problem with our reservation we made through a third party, so when checking in we were told they did not have a reservation for us. But the front staff and the manager (the guy who loves to cycle!) went out of their way to resolve the issue and they even got us checked in early and gave us an upgrade! The room was clean and comfortable and we felt very safe. All of our requests (mini fridge, additional face cloth and shower body wash) were dealt with very quickly by the staff. The breakfast is great too. Would definitely stay here again.…
Hector was cordial and helpful. He helped us out in all situations and was a pleasure to work with. If you ever do visit reach out to Hector Iscaza and he will help you out. I would definitely recommend to stay at the Westin.
When someone gives exceptional customer service, they should be recognized. Pei at the front desk was kind, calm and listened even though there was a very long line of Sunday morning guests behind us. We appreciated her and her warm smile.
To be honest we had a great time. However each hotel has its hiccups. We got two rooms for the 6 of us. (4 kids) so we had to call for a remote, soap and a refrigerator which were delivered immediately. Now Ashawna whom works the front desk in the evening is amazing. She made sure we had connecting rooms and checked in without any hassles. The following day as we came in from a long day in the city she was there greeting us from the moment we walked in and asking how our day was. A hotel is a hotel. Yes it’s clean quite nice blah blah but personally it’s about the staff always of they are rude even at a 5 star hotel you hate it but if the staff, someone like Ashawna makes it special then you over look the lack of soap and remote in the room. We will definitely come back to this hotel!! PS I never write reviews but she was and is fantastic!!!…
This is my hotel whenever I arrive to Manhattan. The overall grade is very high and the service is also of high standard. I would like to emphasize the doorman Hector who allways gives us an outstanding service. This hotel is definetly recommended!
The hotel was in the perfect location for me to easily participate in UNGA events. The room was a clean and comfortable base for my trip tobthe city. All of the staff were kind and courteous but I especially appreciate Hector and Ashawna. They were both warm, friendly and helpful as I tried to navigate the UNGA road closures.
The hotel was clean. Great location with easy access to NYC life. The meeting rooms were nice and the staff serving the meeting rooms were very friendly and attentive. The wait for a cocktail at the bar was long. Both Thrs and Fri nights. Hector the doorman was attentive
Great hotel, a great location. The staff are friendly. I would come back here again. The only down fall with the room was we had very small wardrobe wasn't enough room to hang our clothes. Also, plug sockets don't think drying and straightening your hair over the bathroom sink is ideal. Needs a plug socket near the tall mirror.
