terrible bad and dirty place there are bugs everywhere disgusting food hair came out of the food stay away the food is filthy the place is not what it looks like from the outside they did not take my complaint into consideration the management is very bad i will never choose it again
The place is a disaster and borderline a scam. Rooms are not as advertised - were told it would be fully renovated and was filthy with holes in the walls and ceiling. Thick grime and dust around the window sills and all the corners of the room, peeling wallpaper. When I arrived there was zero security. The door to the street was open and the upper floors are easily reached by open stairs and/or elevators. We asked for the room to be changed - and we were told basically, no, her, there were "none available" unless we wanted to pay a lot more. We had to pre-pay the entire amount up front to stay there. I informed the person at the desk that what she was saying was pretty much bait and switch, and there are laws against that, and a room miraculously became available. That room had spoiled food left in the fridge, no bars or security locks on an 11th floor window, mildew coated bathroom, and peeling ceiling. The elevator leaks water when it rains -no certificate of inspection on file. Many city violations of safety and occupancy - overheard the city inspector while there. When we wanted to leave because they would not clean or fix or transfer us, Gabby, the point person, told us we would forgo our $1500 security deposit and be charged $300 in cleaning fees for a mess we did not make. I liked it a lot. My stay was 95 nights long. I was there from the beginning, there was a lot of renovation going on at the time, the staff was always very friendly and completed tasks quickly, I never had to wait long for anything. The whole team was like family to me. Every day they try to give their best and are very eager. The location is the best in NY. Everything is within easy reach and you are in the heart of the city. I will definitely come back. I had a small single room with bathroom. Big smart TV, fridge, microwave and coffee maker, it was very small but had everything I needed and the location was worth the price. Still, there were things that could be improved to make the stay even better. - the shared kitchen in the basement was so dirty 90% of the time, and there was no detergent to clean or dry the dishes. - The room cleaning offered did not work very well due to not having enough staff. First day moving in, Sewage gnats flying out from the bathtub’s and the sink’s drain like crazy (easily above 40 of those), and I got bit on my forearm by those gnats during the night. I told them and they said to email the support team’s email, which I did but no one came to deal with it despite waiting for days. Some people at the reception were fake as hell. Showing you the highest tier room prior then deceives you by saying the price of the lowest tier room without even mentioning that there were different tiers. Treats you very nice prior payment then after payment treats you like crap with no patience at all unlike before. Would definitely recommend to STAY AWAY from this place. I can’t think of any other place that’s worse than this. Like isn’t this common sense?
The treatment and customer service I received at Mansfield Residence NY is the worst I have ever had! Nad the employee is always asking for cash, he harrased me to the point I did not want to be around him, then tried to scam, then lied to me and told me if I don't like I can leave. Don't stay there! Run away, I needed to call police about those employees! Nad & Gabby such a fake people! Watch out! They also giving you the worst rooms ever! Don't get affected by the show rooms - stay away! They are also stealing money!
Amazing place we actually visited this hotel in 2004 ....and will be going back. Amazing staff, amazing place we loved staying there was such an historic and amazing hotel. Looked up the history and was so interesting.
On a Valentines Day Weekend getaway, this was the hotel of choice, because of its advertisement on the website and the best price for parking in the area we were looking in. The manager and staff were very polite and professional. They had a bellhop who brought our bags up to our room. The room that we were in the first night was a bit small, so we requested a different room and they move our the next day and ensured our bags were there the next day. The reason we requested the room change is because the room was tiny, the bathroom was long and skinny, and we didn’t have an outside view. When they moved our room the room to bathroom ratio was better and we had an outside view. Be warn that the walls are thin and you can hear what is going on around you. What disappointed me the most was the valet parking. I am not sure how it works, but it took over an hour and a half for us to get our vehicle (make sure that you request your vehicle well before you checkout). The management did refund us our money for one day of valet parking which was great of him. The location is amazing if you are looking to visit attractions and eat at restaurants. For the price of the room, I was expecting more. Also the bar/restaurant was closed for renovations, but was not published on the website. …
Overcharged me in two ways: added "mandatory fees" after I had already paid for the room in advance and gave me one bed although I had already paid for two beds. "We're all out of those rooms"--an old, illegal "bait and switch" technique-- I was told after I complained. No heat control in the room. Cold pouring in through windows. Front desk people were rude, condescending and dismissive when I complained.. Elevator fits only 3 people. No radio, no iron, 1 bar of soap for two days, plastic cups, no coffee in the tiny room. I am a native New Yorker--who now lives in New England--and this place, believe me, is a rip-off, taking advantage of tourists. Stay somewhere else!
Been here twice lately and both times been dreadful. The place is literally falling apart. Most of the staff I spoke with were just really rude and unhelpful. My room wasn't cleaned one day and wasn't cleaned properly before I arrived (loads of litter under the bed.... Nice) The only positive is the gym. Not huge at all but some decent machines and free weights. I would definitely never stay here again
This hotel charges about 28$ per day for some bs stuff. After I paid in full from the booking web. The coffee machine was broken. Otherwise hotel is in good location. Rude staff. Breakfast was nothing special and the room was small. Wine hour served cheap wine.
