The Lombardy Hotel earns praise for its exceptionally clean rooms and professional service, with guests frequently highlighting the helpful staff and attention to detail that enhance the comfort of their stay. Its prime location near Central Park and other attractions is a hit for its convenience and walkability.
While the spacious rooms with kitchenettes are appreciated, opinions on value are mixed, with some guests feeling that amenities could be improved. On-site dining options are notably absent, which is a point of contention for many.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
This was my 3rd trip to New York, but sadly my go to favorite hotel closed during the pandemic. Hoping to save you some time after reading SO many hotel reviews and spending hours researching hotels.
I read a few not great reviews before we arrived and want to detail our experience. Brutally honest review below.
So impressed with this hotel! Would definitely recommend. A pleasant surprise that exceeded on delivering us a fantastic 5 night stay!
Considering the vast options of hotels in NYC here are the facts and you can make your own decisions.
Check in was smooth and speedy. Arrived at our room which we were told at check in was a real good room. Cannot disagree.
Huge kitchen area with two small fridges, ample space for a NYC hotel with a dinning, kitchen and living room area. The view was only ok but I knew that in advance. All the staff we encountered were so friendly as other reviews mentioned. Safe, clean area of town we felt safe returning to often late at night. Huge separate bedroom larger than mine at home.
The air conditioner did stop working effectively in the living room after the second day. I informed the front desk and it was replaced by a portable A/C unit before we arrived back from site seeing that day.
Doormen were so friendly and accommodating. Felt welcomed home genuinely like it was our own residence every time.
Elevator was efficient, always operational and not crowded.
Daily housekeeping was prompt, thorough and invisible.
Few items to note:
Yes, as other reviews mentioned there is a coffee maker but no coffee provided. WHO CARES? Who comes to New York to stay in your hotel room and drink free coffee??? Perhaps you came to visit the wrong city?
There are stairs from ground level to the lobby so if you have heavy or lots of bags this is not great, however upon arrival there was someone ready and willing to help immediately. Thank you!
Building seems like old apartments, so larger, but also typical old apartment type issues. Squeaky floors - luckily below us.
There was a very distinct, terrible odor (sewer) from the “coat closet” right by the front door. Since there were three closets in the bedroom and lots of storage space we just left that closet door closed and the smell was not present anywhere else in the rooms.
In a city with so many options you can drive yourself crazy looking at choices. I switched to this hotel from one in Times Square two weeks before our vacation and could not have been more happy with my decision.
This is a SOLID choice for square feet, safety of neighborhood, friendliness of staff and a comfy environment.
There is no free coffee, breakfast, room service or other perks.

I rarely write reviews (seriously). Who has time, right? This time is different because The Lombardy accommodations were phenomenal! My wife and I splurged on an art-deco furnished suite that was huge by any standard. It included a spacious bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchenette, a large work desk, and second bathroom. The suite was full of replica and genuine art that was both tasteful and fun. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The bottled water kept flowing free of charge. The restaurant food we had delivered seemed to be run up to our room by the bell staff in seconds. You want a flaw? The TV's could have been bigger. But who comes to the best city in the world to watch TV. I don't know why our rate was so low for what we got, but if we can get it in that ballpark next trip, it will be a no brainer. Did I mention the location? Alright. Gotta go. Enjoy:)

New York City at it's best and without anxiety or the feeling of being shoehorned into a closet the size of an English phone box. The one bedroom apartment (with full kitchen) liberates you from worthless cookie cutter hotel amenity and egg eating with strangers. The closest space could accommodate a Sultan's wardrobe and beautiful bathrooms with a shower big enough for six. The property exudes a quite style with dignity and everyone is polite (with polish) and exceptionally accommodating. The proper City neighborhood is contemporary New York but with Big Apple history and elan.

Four of us stayed at the Lombardy for the weekend. When I booked the one bedroom suite it said that there were two bathrooms which was one of the main reasons I booked it since it was very expensive. The suite only had one bathroom and the hotel refused to compensate us any money even though it was in writing that the suite had two bathrooms. Aside from that, the hotel is clean but it is clear that although this hotel was once highly sought after, it has seen better days. With so many options of hotels to stay in in NYC, I strongly recommend booking elsewhere.

Dear 912crystals, I am sorry to learn that you did not get a room with two bathrooms. Each and every room is individual and the extent the room size can vary from one to another within each room category. The Suite with the two bathrooms is the Manhattan Suite, it consists of either 1 1/2 or 2 bathrooms. This is a different room category than the One bedroom king suite. We do offer a variety of room sizes and we'd be happy to help you select one that better suits your needsin the future.

We booked this hotel a month before we arrived and chose our "city view' room on line feeling the price ($800+) would be worth it. The room on the fourth floor overlooked a construction dump site and was nowhere near what we had carefully chosen. The room decor was old and dirty(hair on the carpet) and the bathroom needed a good regrouting and scrub. No hot water for the shower which could not be adjusted. Due to an unexpected event, we had to ask for another two nights (we had booked three) and were granted an "Owner's Suite' for a total of $2200 for the two nights. I was very much at a disadvantage . Again it was old and tired but much bigger and had two bathrooms. Still no hot water for a hot shower! Both rooms should have had extra bedding and were quite cold. The redeeming qualities of this establishment were the concierge, the two doormen, and the night clerk who was so patient helping me out with airline check ins and forms. They had lots of suggestions and arranged taxis as needed and always with a smile and respect. They are the bright spots for this place.

The hotel was just beautiful. It was beyond what we expected. The rooms were huge, nice comfortable furniture and the bed will make you oversleep it's so perfect. The kitchen is TINY, but who goes to NYC to prepare meals? The are several Bodegas and a Whole Foods all within a block or two and good places to eat. from casual to fancy. My husband LOVED the shower and the fixtures. I had a hard time getting him out! LOL. We were there for my husband's birthday and we had tickets to a couple Broadway shows which are within walking distance. I HIGHLY recommend the The Lombardy Hotel.

This was our first visit to NYC and the Lombary proved to be a great location in midtown NYC.
Approximatley 20 minute walk for Times Square and conveniently located for the underground on 59th Street. The room was a great size and the bed was extra large and comfortable. The doorman was extemely friendly and helpful giving advice where to visit and how to get there. Approx £260/ night before tax.

We had a kitchenette with a LARGE living area with 2 queen beds, a table and chairs. Absolutely everything about the hotel was great... the room, location, and even price! Having the kitchenette was a godsend, it had a toaster oven, microwave, frig and coffee maker. This was my 5th trip to NYC; we were expecting a small cramped room, and were blown away by the size of the living space... perfect for relaxing after walking all day. AND the room was so quiet, I did not hear any traffic noise.

Amazing room sizes for a NYC hotel, I don't think it can be beat these. Great for families as other reviews said. The hotel set up a crib for us and converted the couch for my 3 year old which he loved. the kitchenette was small, but still great as it had a fridge and sink to help store food and clean dishes for our kids. The location is great, easy walk to central park and subways and the staff were all great.
The rooms are all different as they were converted apartments that were already furnished. Ours definitely had some light bulbs that needed to be replaced and many non-functioning switches. the main bedroom for example needed every light to be manually turned on, none operated on switches, kinda annoying. The kitchenette was useful, but as other reviews said, the stocking is kinda random, there were 2 mugs and 2 glasses, some random cutlery, probably left by prior guests or something, but at least we were able to wash it all to use what was there. i also think the housekeeping put the stuff in the dishwasher daily, but we washed it anyways!

Nicely decorated, but poorly ventilated, window shades were impaired, kitchinette unequiped, but after reclamation they delivered all items to the kitchinette. Staff is helpful, but not proactive and does not help with anything spontaneously. There are slightly cheaper options with the same or better value. Location is excellent and the area is clean and looks safe compared to other parts of NY. There is no restaurant on site and nearby caffe or restaurants are within 5-10 min of walking. Underground is 10 minutes, but I suggest to avoid underground in NY as it is not clean and some tracks are not safe in the evening.

I stayed there last weekend, and there is currently a large warning sign at the bottom of the stairs. Thanks to your (or someone else's) warning on TripAdvisor, I knew when I stayed there to tell my children to be very careful on their stairs and made sure they didn't go down them too quickly. I hope you feel better soon.
Hi - Every suite I have been in has a kitchen or kitchenette with a fridge. I think it depends upon the type of room you book, as they also have studios, some with kitchens and some without. Ask for one with a fridge.
