The location is convenient to everything, including Union Square. Staff was genuinely nice and accommodating- both Alfonso and Judy were very welcoming to both us and our friends. From the warm Victorian entrance to the well appointed suite, we did not feel like we were caught in the hustle and bustle of the City. It was perfection, and we will...

For a small boutique hotel, I must say the place is lovely! I stayed in the Edith Wharton Junior suite and I was impressed with the size of the junior suite -- especially for Manhattan. The customer service was excellent. Breakfast in the Tea Salon was wonderful. The location is the BEST! 1.5 blocks from the parking garage, and right...

Stayed here after a business trip. Absolutely loved it! Very charming, not at all like the typical business hotels I stay at. The service was very personable and personal. No elevator so that could be an issue - but they do carry your bags up/down for you. The décor is very Victorian- Art Nouveau. I am already planning a trip...

This is definitely the best hote I've styed in NYC. The locations is great, just one block from the subway, and close to a lot of nice food places. The hotel is beautiful, the decoration if very nince and delicate. The room is very quiet and clean, and quite big. The staff is very nice, specially Alberto, who is always...

The location is great, in a small quiet street, not to far from the Union Square Metro. The house is great, cosy , and its interior decoration so lovely, lots of old pieces of furniture, I loved it! Makes you feel almost like home! Nice room, proper size for NYC , with a very confortable bed. The little bar area...

I travel to NY often on business, so it was great to find a small (10 room) hotel where you were not lost in a crowd of noise and people. The rooms are immaculate, historic and quaint, and honestly I had one of my best night sleep there. From the moment I arrived, the staff and manager took good care...

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT A MIDTOWN TYPE HOTEL. Location: Perfect. 1 block from Union Square, but completely removed from the chaos. It is on a fairly quiet street (for New York), 2 blocks from Gramercy Park. Only a 2 block walk to the LNQR456 trains. It is convenient to get anywhere in the city by train. The...

The Inn is an extremely charming walk back into history. As your climbing the staircase, you'll wonder how many people from the past walked before you. The rooms are large, inviting and Victorian with all the modern conveniences that you need. The Inn is located steps off Union Square on a quiet corner of 17th Street. It is an easy...

I recently booked the Inn for a weekend stay in the city after reading all the glowing reviews on Trip Advisor. We wanted to be located in this general area for easy access to most of the places we were visiting, seeing, and dining during our stay. We knew that the Inn would be charming, quaint, and small, but not...

Me and my husband stayed here for 2 nights as a little getaway. We made a good choice by choosing the Inn at Irving Place. It's basically two brownstones that they combined to form this 20th century inspired feel, allowing you to feel a more intimate, less-commercial atmosphere. I was also impressed with the size of the rooms---separate office space...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally built in 1834, three single family brownstones sat at the corner of 17th and Irving Place. Over the years, the corner brownstone was torn down and a small apartment building was built in its place. The two remaining brownstones have stood the test of time, and they now create The Inn. While once combined as a single family home, the brownstones also housed everything from apartments, The Ingersol Mens Club, a Speak Easy, and a Beauty Parlor and Day Spa. After completion of a three year renovation, The Inn at Irving Place opened its door in December of 1994. ... more   less
