Got there late at night and was refused entry to the room after the room both wasn’t ready and they didn’t accept our booking name change that we’d made in advance. The member of staff (who we didn’t get the name of) was severely rude and made us call the U.K. (where it was 2:30am) to confirm the change. Once we got in the room it was dirty and their was a half-eaten trifle in the fridge!! The shower head wouldn’t stay up and the toilet wouldn’t flush properly. The one good thing was the location, it was 2 blocks over from time square and just a 2 minute walk which was particularly ideal for us having been visiting over new year. On exit the concierge to store our bags in between the time of checkout and leaving in our taxi was also rude, not even saying a word and proceeding to virtually chuck our bags at us. On the other hand, I do believe that there was some kind and more thoughtful members of staff, such as the doorman who was very nice. Overall, I would avoid as seems there are similarly priced hotels that could offer better value. I don’t believe every experience at this hotel would be like ours but I can only speak from our own.

The hotel was contacted after your departure to state your complaints and ask for monetary compensation with the threat of a negative review, we would have liked to resolve any issues that arose while you were still here. I'm sorry you spent 5 nights in a room with so many problems which could not be confirmed or remedied. The room would have to be in your name to check in, i'm sorry for that inconvenience, for everyone's safety & security there is no exception to that policy by the hotel or Booking.com which you reserved through. As stated in our communication please feel free to contact me directly if you plan to return to NYC.

We are frequent customers of the Belvedere Hotel but something happened since we were here last. Our first room was freezing cold, they don't give you a real blanket just a bedsheet, the internet, TV and electronic safe all were non-functioning, and heater made clanging noises all night. We asked to change rooms, thinking the fact that we had a corner room was the reason for the freezing temperature. In our new room for 2 hours and the internet has dropped twice. The charging station for cell phones is dead. We can turn the TV on but can't change channels or do anything else, so we are stuck watching Kelly Ripa. The morning coffee service is disappointing. We are never coming back here.

Well located - close to transit and a quick walk to shops and centre core. Had the best sleep of my vacation here. Beautiful duvetS. Clean, helpful staff, room had tea and kettle and milk pods so we could settle in. Very nice hotel and would recommend.

I would stay again here 100/100 times. The bellmen were super helpful storing our bags before our room was ready. Got a notification two hours before check-in that the room was ready. Staff was great, helpful, and courteous. The twin beds were super comfortable and the water pressure was great. I did not experience an issue with the elevator. The location cannot be beat. Easy access to everything NYC has to offer. Great place to stay.
