I've stayed at the Algonquin twice and enjoyed it immensely. The old world charm of the lounge and restaurant echo another time when manners and grace pervaded the social scene. What a welcoming sight when entering the hotel! Our room was splendid and lush, with rich fabrics as well as all the modern amenities, including internet. Charming and modern bath....

This was by far and away one of the best hotel experiences i have ever had! Great staff that was always friendly and accommodating. From the check-in to check -out (though I didn't want to leave!) The parking was cheap (for Midtown) and easy. The Algonquin's front desk staff was always smiling and ready to help at a moments notice....

We spent four nights at The Algonquin before Thanksgiving. We couldn't have been more pleased.. We've stayed in fine hotels around the world and the warm welcome that we received from the staff far exceeded anything that we'd previously experienced. The recent renovation was tasteful and very sympathetic to the historic nature of the property. We stayed in The New...

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at this Gorgeous hotel in TImes Square. We planned on seeing the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and this hotel couldn't have been any more convenient along the parade route at the corner. Close to everything!!!! We ate breakfast in the Oak Room.

Stayed here for a short overnight trip from DC on Sunday (12/1/13) to Monday (12/2/213). Having only ever stayed in bigger hotel chains throughout the city, I was very pleasantly surprised and delighted to find myself at the Algonquin. Though it is a part of the Marriott family of hotels, the Algonquin feels much more like a boutique hotel from...

Lovely boutique hotel. Great service. Very close to Times Square. If you are a Marriott Rewards member you may be eligible for some upgrades (with your room and breakfast). Coffee (Starbucks) available all day. The room was very nice but there aren't any good views. The hotel cat, Matilda, was snuggling in the back room both days but staff allowed...

If I could give the Algonquin an extra star, I would. From the minute we checked in (the personnel at check in couldn't be nicer or more helpful) until the time we left, our time at the Algonquin was perfect. The service was impeccable. The room (a suite) was beautiful, and the restaurant warm and inviting. If you want old...

I stayed here for 2 nights for a business trip so I didn't spend much time in the hotel. The hotel is a nice old historic building which includes historic elevators (slow) and historic rooms (small). The rooms are very nicely appointed but very small. The location is great.

Stayed in Oct. 2013 and this was my husband and I first time at this hotel. Staff was incredibly helpful. Room clean and chic, but very small. No dresser in the room. Only one person at time in bathroom. Location was great. The bar at the hotel is great, however expensive, A cosmo, was 25.00, but the atmosphere was worth...

This hotel is very nice,,,room was very small but adequate,,,furnace did not work on the coldest day of our trip but, after a couple calls to the front desk they sent a man up to fix it,,,the unit was set to air and not heat,,,no biggie.. The prices for drinks and food were ridiculously high,,no idea what that was about.....

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
