Great hotel and great location. Far enough away from Times Square but walking distance. Hotel was classic. It's close to the theater district. Very centrally located. I would stay here again. I hope to visit again soon.

We stayed at the Algonquin on Christmas Day. There was a warm welcome and they treated us as long term guests. The staff was friendly and efficient. Even though we arrived on Christmas Day the staff was at their best (not grumpy because they got the Christmas work shift). The Algonquin has had a number of updates and renovations in...

We spent 5 nights here over Christmas. Upon entering the hotel, we were impressed by the beautiful lobby, which has lots of seating areas and was beautifully decorated for the holiday. Throughout our stay, there was always a "buzz" in the lobby with guests sitting in groups, reading, talking and having drinks. After a smooth check-in, we went to our...

I checked in on my smartphone app about 6 hours before we arrived. Check in time was 4 PM. We got there at 2 just to drop off our luggage. Front desk lady said our room was ready and handed me the room cards. Didn't take more than 10 seconds. My Marriott profile requests that I have a high floor...

This is a lovely hotel, the location is great as you are very central to everything and close to all the attractions. All the staff are extremely friendly and pleasant. Our room was very noisy as there was a very large generator or AC outside our room. My daughter has very sensitive hearing so we asked to be moved to...

I stayed here for three nights with a friend of mine in the summertime and overall we were happy with the accommodations. The staff were always attentive and helpful and the resident cat was a total cutie. We were expecting a small room but it was actually much bigger and very clean. It was also close to a lot of...

This is the oldest continually operating hotel in NYC. It has a very European feel to it so things are small but cherished. The staff is amazing and they were so kind and thoughtful about guiding us in every direction. I truly felt that they cared about our experience. No one fussed but we got the message "WE care" and...

I wanted old NYC and that's what I got. I never spent so much time in a hotel public space as I did here. This is a very nice space with small nooks and corners that allow privacy as you eat or drink or just converse with old friends. Of course, the rooms are small and the bathrooms comically small,...

Just spent three nights here with our family of four. Great location -- esp with the easy walk to Bryant Park and it's holiday market. Streets nearby are crowded and noisy but hotel rooms quiet (if a bit dark). Staff was welcoming and helpful. No coffee maker in room but very good coffee in lobby. Liked this place a lot.

We booked at the Marriott Autograph hotel expecting an upscale experience in an historic venue. We booked a suite. We experienced a multitude of problems - too many to catalogue, but some highlights or lowlights follow. Our first unit where we stayed for only one night turned out to be frightfully cold. As the room got colder and colder thru...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
