This hotel is very well appointed with great service and location. My only complaint is that anyone arriving after 9pm is limited for food to a bar with a very limited and expensive menu. The food was quite good but very pricey. I would stay here again but think more than twice about dining here.

We have stayed at all the deluxe Hotels in this neighbourhood and liked this one. A great location, the super upper east side with a short walk to the museum mile and Central Park. Our room was well appointed and well serviced, the rates are high but this hotel is intimate, has a nice quiet bar perfect for late night...

Honestly, maybe the hotel was just really off its game during our trip. We spent one night here previously and it was nice so we decided to give it a shot for a longer one week stay in a deluxe one bedroom suite. Everything was terrible from getting the room at reception to house keeping. The suite was filthy. I...

If you want to walk to the MET, Central Park, sleep in fine linens and drink free Fuji water, this is your hotel. However if you want clean rooms and 5 star customer service, find another hotel. When looking for an earring, we found a thick film of dust on the floor by the curtains, candy wrappers and broken crayons...

Great location on the upper east side one block from Central Park. Top notch staff with friendly helpful doorman and front desk folks. The Grand Deluxe Salon on the 10th floor was perfect for us. Substandard room with poor quality of room cleanliness. Friendly staff although grossly misinformed about everyday information about bar and restaurant opening times and reservations. Very expensive. Good location although rooms can be noisy if facing Madison Avenue. No triple glazing for sound proofing.

They Surrey has long been my go-to hotel on the Upper East Side given it's great location near the park and shopping, the warm and inviting room decor, the fantastic beds with big fluffy comforters and the showers with unbelievable water pressure -- you feel like you are under a waterfall. But the best feature of the hotel is the...

This is a wonderful small hotel on the corner of 76 Street and Madison Ave. Close to shoping, museums, and yet not in the midst of local traffic. Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
