We arrived to the Sherry-Netherland from Ireland on March 12th - the day which marked schools closing in Ireland and things really starting to slow down and close in NYC given the escalation of the Covid-19 crisis. This was a trip for my husband's 40th and had been booked almost a year previously - it was really unnerving to hear of these developments on our arrival . A genuine warm welcome awaited us and the staff were very helpful in advising that Broadway was closing from the following day among many other attractions which we were so looking forward to visiting. The staff were wonderful, we were upgraded to a beautiful room with a view and there was a bottle of champagne on ice left in the room for us. Really spacious room, great facilities, toiletries, fresh flowers, chocolates and soft drinks. We ended up checking out a day early as we cut our trip short to get home safely. The staff were very understanding and even refunded us the cost of the final night stay which was really appreciated. We have already recommended to so many people and we will certainly stay again at the Sherry-Netherland in better times.

Everyone in the hotel was so friendly and welcoming. Great location. Room service should be improved, continental breakfast too expensive for the low quality food. Room was spacious and comfortable, and having Cipriani’s below was great for celebrity sighting.

I do wish we had the opportunity to be given an upgrade, per our Leading Hotels benefit, even though I was aware that the hotel was fully committed for the weekend. I was told that we were tagged for an upgrade for the following night(s) but that never materialized. The duvet was rather thin, so we used an extra blanket, and it would benefit the room greatly with some better soundproofing from the outside HVAC noises. The room could also benefit from a better charging station, the one we had was strangely noisy and housekeeping should check the wake up alarm and cancel it from the previous guest’s stay. A TV with better sound quality would be appreciated as well as an upgrade to a Nespresso coffee maker from Keurig. The staff overall was extraordinary. Very kind to my son in particular and very kind in general. That, arguably, means the most. I do understand that the emergency hot water shutoff wasn’t the hotel’s fault, it was the city’s, and do appreciate the credit but, perhaps, our lunch could’ve been comped. Having Harry Cipriani as the in house restaurant with a 20% discount is a real boon. Happy to have enjoyed it several times. Their allowing me to have a meeting with one of the hotel’s residents, taking a table for an hour, was very kind. Regardless, this is our new hotel. I will be bringing the rest of the family next time and we come to New York several times a year. I’ve normally stayed at private clubs but they’ve lost their luster, and value, so their loss is the hotel’s gain. I’m glad I stopped by back in September to look at the hotel. I’m also recommending the Sherry Netherland to extended family and friends - even though I’m reluctant to share, including this post, because it’s a real gem of a secret.

We do our best to offer their preferences when we can. Unfortunately we offered as credit for the inconvenience of the emergency ConEd shut down which we had no control over. The restaurant is not managed by the Sherry; therefore we cannot offer comp meals. We appreciate that you are returning.We are looking forward to welcoming you back. This has been my second stay at the Sherry Netherland and I always enjoy my stay. The hotel has a very classic, regal feel with excellent service. The staff are always friendly and have a heart to serve. Also in a great location, across the street from Central Park, close to Tiffany’s and all the great stores. I also love the box of delicious chocolates :)

I love a good hotel. Great vibe, charming quaint, cozy. Step into that lobby and go back in time. It's a smaller boutique y vibe. If you are more into contemporary and modern this isn't the hotel for you. Comfy bedding and linens. We were not in a park view suite but no matter our room was quite nice and served us well for 3 nights stay. Location is key here. Across the street to Central Park and access to the subway, shopping galore and a great food hall at the Plaza hotel was a great find for us. The room itself large and has extra settee was a nice touch. The bath was a teensy bit dated. I do love the vintage hardware and marble though. Oh and great toiletries and plenty of hot water for a nice relaxing bath! Loved it here.
