My family of 4 including 2 young girls had an amazing 5 night stay. We booked our stay very last minute and we’re blown away by our experience. The hotel is stunning! We felt like we had stepped back in time with old school luxury. I can’t say enough good things about the service. It was so personalized and at a higher level then we have become accustomed to seeing at the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons. There was even an elevator attendant 24hours a day! Our suite was huge and had a kitchenette with stocked mini fridge that was refreshed daily…for free! We’ve been back for almost 2 weeks and we can’t quit talking about this hotel. We can’t wait to go back!
I was born and raised in New York and often passed by the Sherry-Netherland but never had occasion to stay there. Now that I'm a New York visitor, I have stayed at many city hotels and had guest experiences that ranked from excellent to how-are-they-still-in-business? So you see, I have a very solid basis for saying that the Sherry-Netherland really does rank among the best-of-the-best and then some. From the moment I reserved a room through checkout, the Sherry-Netherland experience was flawless. At every turn we were met with great service and felt truly welcomed. We stayed in one of the older interior rooms, but still enjoyed lots of daylight and a fine view. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. (I really appreciated having such a BIG bathtub, something you find all too seldom in city hotels now.) Cleanliness was perfect and the room was serviced twice daily. We were welcomed with candy, fresh flowers, and a mini-fridge well stocked with a generous assortment of complimentary sodas and mineral water, both sparkling and still. The basket of grooming amenities was overflowing and included everything we could have wanted and then some. (Molton Brown shampoo, conditioner and more? Yes, please!) Lovely bathrobes and slippers, too. Wi-Fi was all we could wish, with never a problem. A daily newspaper was delivered to our door promptly every morning. And at every turn, we encountered such friendliness from the staff that we couldn't help smiling. (The elevators are staffed by operators, which is a lovely touch.) We are already planning our return.…
Excited to finally be a guest of this magnificent property. Had the pleasure of celebrating a special occasion. The rooms are comfortable though some of the amenities were missing. The hotel is intimate and a unique experience in the heart of Manhattan.
The room was large and the amenities were excellent. The staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. The period style of the hotel makes it a classic. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again.
I had a marvellous time at the Sherry-Netherland Hotel in New York. The hotel is such a beautiful historic building and is kept immaculately. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and was spotlessly clean. I was amazed at the amount of amenities: a basket of products in the bathroom, soft drinks in the fridge, sockets for plugs from various nations, fresh flowers, chocolates and a lovely note from the management! The location is also excellent - being at the corner of Central Park. I would like to stay again.
The Sherry-Netherland Hotel is the perfect hotel to stay in for a staycation in Manhattan! We were four women celebrating a special birthday and the hotel could not have been a better place for our needs. Our two adjoining suites were spacious, beautifully decorated and met all of our needs. We all are seasoned world wide travelers and we have never encountered such beautiful and spacious accommodations anywhere! Service was top notch too. We will stay at the S-N on future trips! Only thing I would suggest is to upgrade the basket of pastries offered from room service breakfast :)
I travelled Netherlands as leisure and stayed two night goor t'doktershuuske, unfortunately city tax was 3 euros But hotel management charged 7 euros mean a tiny black mark during my travel to lovely holland.
The Sherry is, without a doubt, the best place we have stayed in New York. The location, just across 5th Avenue from Central Park, near the Pond, is unbeatable. The staff are courteous and ingratiating without being obsequious; they clearly want to help you, and are driven to provide top-drawer service. The room we stayed in (2004) was huge and well-appointed, with a large master bedroom, walk-in closets, 2.5 gorgeous baths, a living room, a dining room, a full modern kitchen, two office areas, a breakfast nook and a small balcony. It was obviously recently renovated (two 60-inch ultra-high def Samsung TVs were a testament to that), and spotlessly clean. The little things matter, too—complimentary beverages restocked daily in the refrigerator, a chocolate on the pillow every evening, free high-speed WiFi, etc. A similar room at the nearby Conrad would go for $5000 a night or more. We paid $1000 (the current rate is about $1400, but we had a discount), and felt as though it was worth every penny. If you are looking for a beautiful, well-appointed space in a great NYC location with impeccable service (and who isn’t?), the Sherry Netherland is the place for you. I’d give it six stars if I could.…
My wife and I went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a room on the 23rd floor looking towards Central Park. The staff and the room are both excellent - nothing is too much trouble. I will say, I usually stay in a more modest hotel that this, but this was worth the extra $$ for the experience and luxury.
When you want to feel like you are at home. There is no other place in Manhattan to stay than the Sherry Neatherland. They have all the amenities and services you could possibly need. The location is fantastic. They have a wonderful restaurant downstairs. the warm greeting you receive upon check in will let you know you have chosen the right place.
