We stayed here for 10 days end of June and beginning of July. When we got there we had been travelling for a whole day from the uk. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely room we could just about see the river. The room was clean and tidy. My main wants that i had, for the hotel were a good shower and a comfy bed we got both. The bathroom was a little tired but had all we needed. The hotel was nice and quiet so long as you kept the windows closed. If i had one gripe it was that the air con unit in the room was huge and sounding like a jet engine. When we booked there was a restaurant and a roof top bar. NOTE: they are both closed permanently. That was so disappointing. The location was fabulous, we were in midtown. Overall it was fantastic. Would be stay there again? yes for everything, but no as no bar and restaurant.…
We love this place. The location is excellent—easy to get to soho and uptown, near the East River trail for running. The staff is super helpful and friendly, especially Denis the doorman. He welcomed us every day, got us a cab when requested and sincerely wanted up to enjoy ourselves. Wish they had a bar or restaurant like they used to but hopefully that will return soon.
Nice hotel that has a big lobby and decent size rooms. Very close to all the shops on Fifth Ave plus Time Square. Great small breakfast place on corner that has wonderful options for sitting outside or on the go.
Room was very clean. Beds were nicely prepared and very comfortable. The Air Condition works great, cooling the room adequately during a heat wave! Very friendly and accommodating staff, Perfect location in Manhattan. Really loved the stay in the hotel.
The service was incredible - particularly Jessica or Jennifer (front desk). We had a problem when we first arrived and she fixed it-twice haha. The rest of the week they helped with every needed detail.
The Shelburne is even better than our last visit in October 2021. This was our third stay. We had a spacious room, clean and overlooking Lex Ave. The check/in rep was thorough, efficient and helpful. The Hotel lobby is warm and inviting. I’m just waiting for the roof top and restaurant to open and complete an amazing home away from home!!! Will come back as soon as we can!!!
It was above average but not enough to say very good. The bathroom water pressure was excellent but the staff was not knowledgeable about local establishments. The lobby was dark and depressing to say the least whereas the room lights were more than adequate. Overall location was good.
Great hotel! Clean , charming, unique warm and welcoming atmosphere with spacious rooms friendly accommodating down to earth staff! Nice views and perfect location restaurants & coffee shops. Close to NYU hospital.
More of a 4.5 out of 5. Family of 4 stayed here in July 2022 as part of Costco travel package (air, transportation, hotel). Came in on red-eye; got into hotel by 6am EDT. Costco travel package said we could have 2 pm versus 4 pm check-in, but that wasn't helpful for us. We wound up paying additional $99+1 day fees/taxes, but was able to be in our room by 9am EDT. That allowed us to take a big nap. Front desk was managed by Ralph, who was extremely nice and very helpful. He did provide excellent service! We booked one bedroom apartment (on the 13th floor) that had two double beds in a separate room, along with pullout couch. Two big TVs, smaller bathroom, very small kitchenette. Space was very large! Lots of room in living area that also had a kitchen table for four. Great place to relax. Bathroom was a little narrow and only 2 people could really be in it at one time. Shower had a musty smell; we purchased Lysol to spray, to cut back on the smell - I don't think this could have been avoided as it's July/humid time of the year and there was no vent system to circulate. Main living area had own air con system, and bedroom also had it's own. That was very helpful when different areas were occupied by different people/different temperature preferences. Beds were very comfortable; room very clean. Entire unit was very clean overall. We had to request additional linens as our kids wanted their own "beds", so one kid was on the couch - didn't use pullout as it's the typical uncomfortable kind, but sofa was comfortable. Also had to request additional bath towel (only had 3 sets), but that was promptly brought. Our cleaning person (Daiya?) was also extremely nice & friendly and made sure we had enough. Was surprised that they did clean room daily, which is nice. Kitchenette didn't have plates/enough cups, but any request asked was quickly brought (toaster to heat up leftover bagels, forks/butter knives). Kitchenette had small frig (that had a small freezer, where we put some "trader joe" items), a good size microwave, small ice bucket, coffees (which you can always ask for more supplies). For-fee washer ($3) and dryer ($2) was available in the basement. We brought our own laundry pods, but that was also available at front desk for a fee. The basement is also where the only ice machine is too. $10 daily "food/beverage" credit from Costco was used for two bottles of water we used daily, for our outings. Onsite restaurant is permanently closed. However, there are plenty of restaurants and a small convenience store very close by. All the staff we encountered were very nice and friendly. That was a consistent theme, which is great to experience. I would recommend this hotel to other tourists as the rooms were great, great customer service, and great location to many tourist areas - Chrysler Building, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station (our starting point for daily subway rides), Time Square, NY Library/Bryant Park.…
Reserved a certain type of room, was sent to room that reeked of smoke, was given a new room that was closet sized without a work desk which is what i reserved, so third room didn't have a working refrigerator, was told they can't fix, i talked to so called manager who sent someone to bring new fridge. Again a very small room not what i reserved but was told its my only option. And on a $200 rate they charge an additional $100 a night as a security fee but don't tell you that when you check in and just say well that can be refunded on checkout. Nothing in writing on terms and conditions does it say that, and no one at check-in said that.
