Arrived late afternoon quick check in. Small lobby area as the main area is 2 floor above. We had a room 25 floors good sized room. Bathroom basic but plenty of towels and clean bedding. Excellent location pleasent bar didn't eat here. Room always cleaned everyday. Hotel left chocolate and a bottle of wine nice touch

We traveled to NYC for an extended weekend to celebrate my son turning 13! He liked the glitz and nuttiness of Times Square so we decided to stay where the action is this time. Renaissance Times Square absolutely was the ideal location as you are within steps from restaurants, Broadway, and plenty of excitement including Gun Control demonstrations, Anti-Mask Rallies and Pro Abortion Rights demonstrations. We didn't mind the rallies -- it is part of staying in Times Square. For the special weekend, we booked a suite. Concierge did help me with a treat bag and a few balloons to surprise my son -- I appreciated that! The suite itself was underwhelming and really dark. The depressing lights in the living room either were broken or the room was meant to be that dark because it was just gray and totally drab. Time for a LED upgrade perhaps?? Furnishing was quite dated as well, same with the bathrooms. The breakfasts were at the R Lounge and that perhaps was the best part of the stay. Options were plenty but the gorgeous view made everything taste good, and breakfast worth waking up for! We also made a point to grab drinks daily at the R Lounge for the view! It is truly one of the best central views of Times Square! All is all, the hotel was fine and a great location for our needs that weekend. The suite was a disappointment and I hope it undergoes an update very soon.

We normally stay at the Marriott Marquis Times Square but decided to give the Renaissance a try this time. Rooms are okay and on the tiny side which is typical of many New York hotels. Even with Marriott’s highest level of status they were unable to grant us any upgrades. They only nice things was a room on the 28th floor with a view of Broadway. Unlike many high end Marriott’s they do not have a concierge lounge. Breakfast is only available some days of the week and the restaurant/lounge doesn’t offer complementary appetizers daily as you’d find in concierge lounges. Unfortunately the lounge was booked for private parties two of the days of our stay which meant we couldn’t even get a cocktail those days. Had we known well in advance we would have booked another property. All in all a meh experience

This place is an unmitigated disaster. Elevators run so slow that it takes 10 minutes just to get downstairs. Huge line at reception - they do not have the capacity to handle a medium flow of guests. Breakfast feels like I am at a 3rd rate motel. What a mistake to stay here.

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback regarding your stay. Based on your feedback, it is clear we have missed the mark on some key service elements. I can understand how frustrating this must be considering you are here for a leisure trip. For this, I sincerely apologize. The experience you described is not characteristic of the level of service that you have come to expect from Renaissance. While I know the restoration of your faith in the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel may not come easy. I hope that you will once again consider us in the future. Warm Regards,

I stayed here for 2 nights in September 2021 and was upgraded to an executive suite. The room was well equipped and service was very good overall. Bed was very comfortable. The location is incredible for those wanting to be in Times Square and in close proximity to Broadway shows. The check in area is on the ground floor and very small. Then you go up to another floor to change elevator banks. Elevators do get busy and there can be a wait (particularly from ground floor). While not my top choice in Times Square I definitely wouldn't have issues recommending this property.
