I’ve stayed in a variety of places in NYC but this is easily the smallest room I’ve ever been stuck in. Ironically I used Marriott points for the stay. Would I be cynical to think that is why our accommodations are so cramped? The view is also nothing to rave about. I feel bad that I recommended another couple join us before heading upstate. I strongly recommend against this Marriott property.

We visited this hotel on a June weekend while attending a show. The hotel itself is very nice - different from the cookie cutter hotels, and full of Art Deco character. The location is good - the theatre district is a little bit of a walk, but not too long (varies by the walker) - but you can always do as we did and walk one way and Uber the other). Our room was nice - typical size for New York and the hotel has a fantastic lobby that looks as if Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio could still live here (they did). My issue was primarily with the fact that the hotel fee includes certain perks, including vouchers for the bar. That’s fine, most NYC hotels do it. I specifically asked What time the bar closed while checking in and was told midnight - a little early for NYC Saturday night, but ok. We arrived back at the hotel bar at 11:40 and were “greeted” by a waitress that clearly didn’t want to be there. She informed us that we would “probably get better service if we just went up to the bar” and that it was already past last call -“beer and wine only”. I went to the bar and ordered from a slightly less grumpy bartender a beer and a wine. This sort of put a damper on the night, as we were looking forward to a cocktail or two. I wrote an email to the guest relations coordinator (who had sent a very nice welcome letter) and pointed out the situation, along with the fact that the bar was very crowded with people who had ordered mixed drinks and clearly were interested in ordering a few more. Seems like it would be a good business decision to stay open a little later - ($20/drink x full bar = decent $ and happy customers) but what do I know... Anyway, I never got a response to my email, so I have to assume that either they didn’t read it or didn’t care.....but either way the visit left room for improvement.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a longer trip in NYC on a deal. We were able to check in early which was ideal after a long flight, and our room was also upgraded. Check in was efficient and friendly, just what we needed as we felt barely awake! The rooms are nice and size-wise as expected for New York. Bed was comfy and all amenities etc in the room were there. No tea and coffee facilities in the room but these are available down at reception. This hotel is in a good location and is a 5-10 minute walk from the nearest subway.

Rooms are dated and small. Lobby is nice and has a nice buzz. Great location. Concierge not very helpful or friendly. Daily fee of $25 plus tax is outrageous- they give you daily $30 daily credit for laundry but the laundry charges are quite ridiculous. They also give you $20 daily credit for drinks and which will not even cover one drink. So no point in giving you these credits.

Hi Trip43389251487, we're glad that you reached out to give us your feedback! We are sorry that you feel that our destination fee is outrageous. We are as clear and as transparent and upfront as possible regarding this fee, so that our guests are informed before making their booking. This destination fee enables us to provide the best possible experience to our guests and we wouldn't have it if it didn't. We are also disappointed that our concierge did not meet your expectations. We will address this and make sure next time you visit, our concierge are as helpful and as friendly as they can be. Although the destination fee and the concierge disappointed you, we are delighted to hear that our lobby has a nice buzz and that you enjoyed our location! We really value your feedback at The Lexington New York City, and we're not just saying that! We hope that we have the opportunity to go above and beyond your expectations in the future. Have a wonderful day! Dan Briks Hotel Manager
