I booked this hotel because I was going to a conference at the 'big hotel around the corner' and it was sold out. I am SOOOOO glad! This hotel was so much better than a big impersonal hotel. From the moment The Uber dropped me off I stepped onto the cool front steps and went in at 1 am I...

Sanctuary is a hip, intimate hotel which brings back memories of youth hostels in the '70's and '80's. NOT the quality of the facilities, though! They are top notch. The vibe is small, international, and intimate. The lobby is fireplaces, little alcoves, and a buzz of guests in multiple languages. The rooms are unique: small by price standards, but unusual,...

I stayed at The Sanctuary Hotel for the first time last week. It's a much much better hotel than it's neighbouring Night Hotel Times Square which I've stayed at a few times. I really appreciated the size and newness of the room. I was a bit disappointed with the continental breakfast offering though. The station was too small for the...

The staff are great , and a good location. 3 minutes from time square, and a 15 min walk to Maceys. Go and see the Xmas show at Radio City , which is round the corner., will leave a warm feeling in your hart at Xmas. The two disappointing parts were .the continental Breakfast was ridiculously basic, so didn't use ,...

If, by boutique hotel, you mean thin walls (where it feels like next door is in your room) & where they decide to change the continental breakfast, part way through your stay, so that when you previously had yoghurt & granola this then became part of the $20 breakfast menu, then you can keep your New York Boutique hotels! Definitely...

Wonderful staff, always so helpful. We asked to change room as I preferred one with an outlook. All actioned swiftly and with a smile. Doormen are amazingly courtesy. Can be quite noisy as Times Square just around the corner... but its that what you go to New York for - all the hustle bustle and taxi beeping :) The restaurant...

This hotel turned out to be a wonderful surprise in terms of service and location. Check- in was extremely prompt and efficient. We requested the assistance of the hotel concierge several times during our three night stay. Without fail, he was knowledgeable about subway directions, museums, special restaurant recommendations and reservations. Our superior king room was smaller than we expected...

This hotel is right next door to Times Square (witch is nice but keep in mind that this brings problem getting somewhere with a cab from outside the hotel), very nicely decorated but the rooms has very thin walls so you will hear everything going on outside in the hallway, and really great staff but only in the "hotel part"....

From our very first step into the Sanctuary Hotel to our last, the staff couldn't have been friendlier. They were helpful without being super solicitous and definitely wanted to make the best of our experience. And the lobby, while dark, was enticing. The rooms are nicely decorated, designed and clean--but they are VERY VERY VERY small, with the sink and...

This hotel is right in the heart of midtown one minute away from time square and you are in the middle of one of the busiest places on the planet. Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
