This is a rock star of a hotel. Discrete, well-placed, exceptionally furnished, and housing every amenity, the Sanctuary Hotel New York is located in the Midtown-Theatre District on 47th Street near Times Square. One hundred and thirteen guest rooms in two towers show lavish attention with chocolate leather headboards, marble countertops, and accents of brass and honey onyx. One tower...

We recently stayed in the Sanctuary Hotel, location was perfect only a two minute walk to Times Square but on a side street which made it much quieter. Staff were excellent, really friendly & helpful. We were upgraded to a king room as it was my husband's 40th & our 10th wedding anniversary. The lobby & hotel were decorated really...

Very nice customer service! Wonderful room! Very clean and well decorated. My only complaint, more of an observation, it is very low lighting throughout the hotel. The rooms are well lighted, but the bathroom was a bit dark. Difficult to put on makeup on. Room service was quick and great!

I looked into the Sanctuary because I had dinner twice at Haven Rooftop and it was a nice & fun atmosphere so I got a room for my boyfriend's birthday. We stayed one night with no complaints. I got the room on a deal so I went for it. Check in was a breeze with Lauren; when she realized it...

While traveling on business in NYC I got stuck in a snow storm. I was inside at a conference, and while I knew the snow was coming I hadn't seen it yet. Clearly all flights out out LGA and JFK were cancelled. The hotel I stayed at the night before ended up sold out as well as the other Marriott...

One block off of Times Square makes everything super accessible. Remarkably quiet room all things considered. This is on a very busy street that traffic ends up backed up quite a bit. Not the easiest place to grab an Uber. I didn't like that my card was charged immediately upon booking vs. when we actually arrived. Once we arrived, we...

Nice boutique hotel one block from Times Square. Small rooms but good for the price. Very friendly staff. Rooms are compact and have shower and sink in the room. The hotel has a rooftop bar that's really nice. It's open all year.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
