Great location!! That's it! Elevators are terrible! 10 minute wait at times. The sink had REALLY hot water but the shower didn't. WEIRD! Cold showers are terrible, The lounge not being open on Sunday and Monday was a big let down. Not serving breakfast in it is open was a huge inconvenience! The staff was really unfriendly. The doorman only came out of the building once customer had already flagged down their own riders. BOOOOOOOOO

Me and my wife have just came back from a 4nt stay at this hotel, the location is superb. You can see both Times Square and Central Park the moment you step out onto the street. Subways on the corner of the hotel and plenty of cafe and bars close by too. As for the rooms they were modern and spotless. Beds were brilliantly comfy too. We had no problems with lifts and anytime reception was busy the gents in the lobby were more than happy to help. It wasn’t extortionate to stay here and I found it great value for money. I’d happily stay here again and would recommend it too.

Our stay at this hotel was really bad. The most frustrating part of the experience being that there was only one elevator working meaning the waiting time to get up to our room on the 16th floor could take anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes. Secondly, on arrival, we were shocked to learn we had to pay a security deposit of £100 dollars per night. This was something we were not told about prior to booking. I’m sure it is hidden in the T&Cs when you book but that was a poor start to our arrival as it then put us on edge for the rest of the trip as we would take photos of the room before allowing cleaners to service it. We checked out 3 days ago and still waiting for $500 to go back into my account. Thirdly, the reception and front desk were so slow and at times rude. There is so many guests staying at this hotel, yet every time we went down and needed to make an enquiry or speak to someone, we could end up waiting 10 minutes just to ask a question that takes 30 seconds to answer, as there was only one member of staff available. Finally, to top things off, on our last night I woke up in the middle of the night to have a cockroach land on my face. As it was 3am and we still needed to pack and sleep before we checked out at 12, I couldn’t be bothered to go and complain as it would probably take 20-30 minutes to get down to reception and speak to a member of staff. Overall, really poor hotel. Rooms are old despite the pictures looking nice, you can see into other peoples rooms even if their blinds are down, no A/C from November to April (the list could go on). Only good thing going for it is the location. It is close to everything and the subway stations around it make most things a 15 minute journey.

The first night there and climbed into the sheets, and there was a rapper from an open water bottle that was not mine. Therefore, the room had not been clean. Upon arrival I noticed that there was floating toilet paper in the toilet. The thermostat did not work and the room was never cooler than 72°. The elevator door was broken and only had one elevator for 17 floors of people during Thanksgiving, this created long lines and lots of frustration. I walk 13 flights of stairs multiple times a day due to this issue. I had fraudulent charges on my bill and staff was very difficult to work with. Overall, the staff was rude and unhelpful from checkin to check out.

Quick business trip to NYC and this hotel was amazing! The only flaw is that it only had one elevator working. So your wait time was very long! Other than that I highly recommend this hotel to others!

The rooms need updating. Ours was cold, no heating & no warm blankets for the bed. The toilet seat had a crack at the front which in my opinion is unhygienic. We complained about this to Elizabeth the manager & she agreed to get this sorted. Unfortunately it wasn’t so we complained again & we changed rooms, the heating still didn’t work!! Apart from Elizabeth none of the staff are friendly, they don’t smile nor do they make you feel welcome. In fact the bar staff are extremely rude, one bar staff grunted at my husband when serving him. The staff cleaning the rooms are very good & do their absolute best, beds are very comfy & linen very nice, just would have liked the option of having a blanket on the bed. I don’t understand why there are no kettles in the rooms to be able to make tea/coffee on waking in morning rather than having to go out. The lifts!!! Oh my goodness me. Having to wait, sometimes 15-20 minutes is unacceptable & so frustrating. I understand work needs to be done but there wasn’t any evidence of this happening just yet! Shouldn’t this be made clear on the hotel website, there is no way I could have used the stairs being on the 8th floor. The hotel is in a great location but I wouldn’t stay again due to the cold, unwelcoming, lack of friendliness of the reception staff.

We stayed at the Park Central Hotel right before Thanksgiving for 4 nights. The positives are the location is great for getting to Central Park, 5th Ave, Empire State Building, Rockefeller, Times Square etc. Alot of food options around it as well, We had a corner room on an upper floor which was probably roomier than most NYC hotel rooms and was clean and beds were comfortable. Cons are that they literally have 1 elevator working for a 26 floor hotel. They did open up the service elevators to guests which was helpful but there were still waits for those each day. Everyone working there behind the scenes were so kind to try to assist us with getting elevators but it was still an issue. I think for around $450/night they really need to do better for their guests in getting these fixed (which someone that works there told us will not be until late Jan 2024.)

Pro's: Rooms are spacious considering it is in the thick of Manhattan. Location is perfect for going Uptown and Downtown for equal distance. Very lovely bar and reception. Staff are pleasant enough. The Premier King Room is surprisingly quiet in the evening when going to sleep, as we all know, NYC never sleeps so that was a plus! We got a free drink voucher [for our honeymoon] on arrival which was lovely. One of, if not the cheaper hotel for staying in Manhattan (still expensive, but one of the lower prices) We were granted a fridge which was very useful! (not guaranteed) Con's: As I'm sure you've all read, only 1 elevator working, a nightmare during peak times - the hotel states they are working on upgrading the 2nd elevator, but considering everyone has made the same complaint about the elevator over time it seems, either it's a serious problem taking its time to fix - or the owner is very cheap in getting it repaired, it doesn't seem it's getting resolved any time soon! - luckily the 1 elevator is quick enough. I recommend people take the stairs when they can (we did, we were on the 12th floor) The room had a couple of worn touches, the blind was worn/frayed, the carpet in the corners was a bit dirty, I understand its an old hotel but cmon now, it needs to look pristine considering we paid well over £2k for a hotel in Manhattan. Overall, me and my wife came here for our honeymoon, 9 nights at this hotel, in general it is a decent hotel, I would stay again for a couple of nights, but for a long period of time? - I'd go elsewhere, unless they fixed the long awaited elevator problem. I don't wanna sound too aggy, but after flying a long way for our first NYC experience, the last thing you wanna deal with is the elevator hassle.
