...If you literally just need a place to sleep in NYC, this isn't bad for the cost - it's got a good location and it's not like it's dirty or gross or anything, and the staff was pleasant and I didn't have any real negative experiences... If you just need a place to crash for the night near Times Square on a budget and don't care about literally anything else, it's got a convenient location and it's not dirty, so it's at least worth considering...

The Paramount is a great hotel for travelling on a budget but wanting to be in a central location... The location couldn’t be better for exploring Manhattan; a 1 minute walk to Times Square allows you to explore it before it’s busy and from there you can get anywhere you need to... Granted it’s a bit rough around the edges but for the age and price I’d challenge you to find a better hotel, with better facilities in a better location...

...One word answers were all we got before being given the keys to our Superior Double Room for 3 guests. When we entered our room we were surprised to see two slightly larger than usual single beds with one pillow on each, and exposed wires hanging out from the wall... Clearly not a superior room and only for a maximum of two people... We showed her the photos online and Sheena told us that we must take this up with booking.com as the beautiful large double bed pictures were not the responsibility of the hotel, and we had no choice but to stay in the tiny room with 2 single beds, all 3 of us as her computer told her it was 2 doubles... We asked her to come look at the room to see that it was not the same as the photos... After paying £1600 for 4 nights this was completely unacceptable ... Sheena finally found us another room (despite her telling us the hotel was full when booking .com said they had 11 rooms available) and we could take ourselves to look at it but she was done with us now... We opted to move to that room for the night as it was cleaner and had no exposed wires but wanted to be moved in the morning to the size room we had paid for... Eventually a manager called Omar assisted us as best he could but ultimately we paid £400 for 2 single beds on night one for 3 adults... The rooms are NOT the same as the photos advertised and Sheena should not be in the hospitality trade with an attitude like hers...

The sealant around the bath was brown and mouldy, the bath had paint stripped off it as if it has been in place for 10+ years The heaters within the room are extremely loud after coming on in the early hours of the morning they woke us up with how loud they were The hotel appeared out dated but this wouldn’t have been an issue if the rooms were clean and up to standard... Hotel prices in December in NYC are bananas but even the "economy" rooms are not worth it. Due to some miscommunication, the Paramount Hotel was booked for me on a discount travel site and it was non-refundable... The room is as states 100 sq feet with a slightly larger than twin bed... The linen was poor quality and the carpet is absolutely old and ratty... I called the front desk but the hotel is completely sold out... ...1st night we had to stop our plans bc as soon as we got into our room the AC, internet & safe were not working... No room move was offered, he never anticipated that this room should not have been giving to us in the first place... Now we could not ignore it and had to stop our plans again, try to move rooms as fast as possible... We go to the FD, system was down & waited 30 minutes, we changed rooms... Now, I worked at hotel industry all my life and we would never place an inconvenienced guest in a room where they could have another inconvenience bc this is the time to do recovery... We get change to another room, the room was small and the bathroom super uncomfortable, the water only got warm and it took forever to warm up, plus showering there was uncomfortable but we did not care about that... We put the do not disturb sign and go out, only to get back and see that HSK entered to our room and moved our personal belongings... THE ROOM was in terrible condition, the front door was hard to open, the bathroom door hard to close, shower very small, electrical outlets very bad, nothing fit and everything we connected was lose & sometimes got disconnected but what was really the worst was that when we departed we checked the room before going to ensure we did not forget anything... When we checked under the bed in case my ID falled, we saw that the room was never inspected or clean as it should be bc there were a pair of socks that were not ours... We only needed a room with a bed, good AC, Good water heat, and the room to be cleaned and working properly before we were checked in on them... We only stayed two nights but we regreted every minute of it but our prior hotel did not have availability for our last two nights...

Location and lobby are fine and generally clean but the issue is when it comes to rooms and fees. $300 for a tiny room with single bed, no cups, no suitcase stand (just enough room on the floor to open it), shower curtain missing leading to flooded floor and a ridiculous resort fee of $35 plus tax (which apparently includes access to hot and cold water and other facilities that any hotel would offer as standard)... First and last stay here; it's not a service led establishment... Moved to a Hilton Garden Inn with a much larger room, bed, bathroom, much better rate and no "resort fee"...

Made reservation using Booking.com, which at the time was the cheapest for our timeframe. The information for the hotel clearly said, taxes and fees included... Once the reservation was made, there was a HUGE increase in cost... We tried work with Booking.com, they said that the increase was on the hotel's side who was refusing to budge, saying it was their taxes and fees, which on booking, we clearly paid... All in all, we actually ended up paying double for this room... We could have ended up at a really nice hotel instead of the matchbox rooms we did end up with at the Paramount... Recap: If you have a choice do not stay at this hotel... It's not worth the extra feet you may need to walk to stay somewhere that is actually nice, up to date and worth the money...

Staff were uninterested in feedback on this fee... They also charge to store luggage which the hotel says is a direct gratuity for bell staff... If it's a gratuity leave it to the customer otherwise it's a fee to subsidise hotel costs... First and last stay here; it's not a service led establishment... Moved to a Hilton Garden Inn with a much larger room, bed, bathroom, much better rate and no "resort fee"... The Garden Inn offered a midday checkout as standard...

No wonder this aging property has such competitive room rates. There's no parking, no valet, and no assistance with parking; the vintage shop advertised on the website never opened; there's no bar or cafe as advertised; the carpet in the rooms is threadbare; it's impossible to talk to a human being if you need to adjust your reservation; and most of all, the noise at this site is unrelenting...

...No soap or shampoo on arrival, no flannels provided, not enough staff on the front desk (sometimes one, sometimes two desks open for a hotel with 12+ floors)... No towels to wipe hands in the reception restrooms (three days running)... Hard to see the buttons in the elevators though!!... Plus items .. friendly staff, relatively clean, safe, warm, older hotel so brick walls meaning no noise from neighbor...

...A cute lobby, a good gym, and a comfortable mattress are the only good things about the hotel. Unfortunately, the truth about the facilities is hidden behind photos of 3D blueprints and cute photos of the lobby... The rooms need to be updated and improved, the staff needs to be trained in customer service, the bathrooms are very dated and in need of repair, the AC is very noisy, the windows do not soundproof the outside and the cleanliness could be improved in several areas of the hotel...

The sink in the bathroom was bent and loose... The rooms where clean but lacked simple amenities such as ice bucket and cups, wash cloths and more than 2 pillows per bed... The staff needs to let visitors know to use the key on the elevator, and house keeping should knick before entering but other than that they were good...

...$300 for a tiny room with single bed, no cups, no suitcase stand (just enough room on the floor to open it), shower curtain missing leading to flooded floor and a ridiculous resort fee of $35 plus tax (which apparently includes access to hot and cold water and other facilities that any hotel would offer as standard)... Moved to a Hilton Garden Inn with a much larger room, bed, bathroom, much better rate and no "resort fee"... The Garden Inn offered a midday checkout as standard...

...There is a daily resort / services fee which is really $20+ for the wifi. The other items are irelevent as all other hotels include these... The shower was so slow it was effectively useless... When the toiletries were replaced after trying to shower on morning 1, they were replaced with half full little containers... On departure I wanted to leave my bags but the hotel wanted to charge for storing my bags for a few hours...

...You couldn't use the bar, the lobby was constantly packed full, the lifts were so busy you had to wait ages, I felt that we had paid for the hotel and they should have told us about the events as it made our stay less enjoyable... We had to ring for towels twice as we didn't have any in our room...

This hotel was close to Times Square and other attractions. The price was great for the area. The room is small, BUT you are in NYC.. it was comfortable for my girlfriend and I. We had an issue with the AC, maintenance was there and had it fixed in minutes! My gf forgot a hair dryer, the front desk had one in our within minutes! There weren't any wash cloths, and we asked for some at the front desk, no kidding they were on our bed before we got upstairs! Outstanding service!!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We booked a standard room. Upon Stovall we discovered that the room was tiny, heating stuck on and window wouldn’t open. We went to reception to see if there was anything they could do for us, they replied with they can sort the heating out but we are stuck with the room unless we upgrade for £150. Considering we didn’t have enough room in our ‘room’ to unpack our cases we was left with no choice but to pay the extra. We got to the new room which was bigger, however the exact style bathroom was installed. We was on the 9th floor and heard the traffic like we was on the street outside. Also there is a building site operating opposite the hotel (Nov 2023) which is very loud- nothing to do with the hotel I know but keep in mind if you’re going soon. On our second morning the shower got blocked and no water would drain. This was fixed by the handy repair man. Next morning the bathroom light died on us which was also fixed by the repair man. The only positives are the location is right next to Times Square (not so good if you want quality sleep) and the size of the bed in our upgraded room. Hotel wasn’t the cleanest I’ve been in but it wasn’t too bad.

Sadly not favourable, considering recently refurbished and access to times square etc very favourable. There is a little bit to do, for me to utilise again. But am sure if all is attended to then will be fine.

The hotel rooms are antiquated very small barely any wardrobe space. It’s dark and smells musty. Upon arrival be prepared to pay extra for water, Ice and service charge for Wi-Fi. I had to pay 85 dollars up front for a five night stay. I am shocked at the tiny rooms with no amenities. There is also a 1 Dollar charge for Breakages?. Before room keys are issued. Added to that . There is a 14.75 Tax on the room rate. At 320 dollars plus before the extras mentioned a night it’s poor value for money I was Shocked at what was on offer for the price.

Arrived a day late after a cancelled flight and then a delayed flight. Kept waiting for over an hour to check in. My wife had found out that morning her mother had died and that did not prompt any member of staff to expedite the process to allow her to grieve in private. We were kept waiting in a busy lobby for just over an hour. Eventually we were allocated a small room which was very noisy (traffic). Decor was very dated. It was basic with nowhere to sit other than the bed. The bathroom was cramped and had no fan. Location of the hotel is good, but the way we were treated lacked the personal touch. We would not stay here again.

Very noisy!! Construction ongoing across the street made it very difficult to get some sleep. The AC and Heat were both on the same time. Pipes banging. Rooms and bathrooms are small and need updating. No place to put luggage or belongings.

Need more housekeeping and maintenance staff and increase staff pay to encourage retention of staff. Staff is exceptionally hardworking and conscientious but they are clearly overwhelmed and need more help.

Just got back from a 4 day trip, location is great. Right on Times Square, bedrooms are definitely a catfish as look nothing like photos online. The rooms are VERY small. The bathroom you couldn’t swing a cat, beds are okay. No storage for any clothes or suitcases. Rooms are clean, and beds were made daily. It did us for what we wanted but I wouldn’t go back. The noise at this hotel is terrible, you can hear every police siren, ambulance and the many many car horns. Woke us up several times through the night.

After reading the reviews we were hesitant to stay here but in all honesty this hotel was great! Great location a 2 min walk from Times Square, yes the rooms are small but your only staying there at night? The room was spotlessly clean and was cleaned with new towels daily. Comfy bed and was provided with shampoo and soap. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and ignore the reviews and see for yourself! Will definitely return
