Hotel's Favorite
We visited for my birthday and had a great time! We absolutely loved this hotel. It was very clean and food was great. Im a Marriott Titanium Elite member so we were actually able to take advantage of the Buffett for breakfast and appetizers/snacks in the evening all for free! The Buffett was awesome, plenty of selections. The highlight though was the staff! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They are huge on customer satisfaction and it shows. The hotel is located in a prime location in the heart of Times Square and close to Broadway to catch a show. We would highly rec the MJ show if able. It’s a small theatre but the show is absolutely fantastic! The only downfall is that we did unfortunately catch covid which was diagnosed the day we returned, although we are fully vaccinated so symptoms were mild. I wouldn’t necessarily attribute that to the hotel but rather being in Times Square where there are a TON of ppl so as a medical professional I must warn to please be careful!! Overall , we will def return in the future when covid and monkeypox are no longer a “thing”. We will most def return to Marriott Marquis and would highly recommend staying here if you are ever in NY!!

My wife and I travel to NYC a lot to see family in Manhattan and usually stay at the Algonquin for that taste of old New York. Since they redid the lobby there we decided to try the Marquis for something totally different. What a nice place. It was busy because of the Thankgiving holiday and there were a couple bands and groups staying there. Nonetheless it was all handled efficiently and my wife and I were never inconvenienced. The rooms are gigantic compared to some of the boutique hotels we have stayed in and spotlessly clean. The quality of breakfasts was outstanding with the fruit plates as fresh as just off the vine. Just so you know Marriott charges $30 a day resort fee but you get a $30 daily credit to spend. It was enough to cover two light breakfasts with a couple bucks over plus tip. The elevators are something else you should be aware of. You take your room key to a swipe machine in the elevator area and it tells you which elevator will take you to your floor. There are no floor buttons in the elevators. It works flawlessly. The rooftop restaurant is open, but you need reservations to get up there. Apparently they do not want sightseers to travel to the roof for the view. All in all we liked the place a lot and will stay there again. As for the old New York appeal of the Algonquin, I can always stop at the Blue Bar for a drink.

The location couldn't be better. You're just a 10-15 minute walk from all of the sites, sounds, and food of midtown Manhattan. The hotel is quintessential NYC from the open-air atrium lobby to the amazing views from the rooms. The only thing that may not be typical NYC is the positive attitude of the staff. I'd say that my experiences with the staff have been nothing but great. We stayed here right before Thanksgiving and yes, it was hectic and crazy, but everyone who worked there seemed to have a smile on their face. The bar at Revel and Rye is a can't miss if you're a bourbon fan. They had some hard to find varieties in there and the staff is super friendly. I see some of the negative reviews here and a lot of it comes down to expectations. I personally believe this hotel measures up to, and exceeds, all of the neighboring properties. There's a reason so many conferences are held here. It's because the hotel can handle it. I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone staying in NYC. Sure, it's in the most touristy section of the city, but it's also the epicenter of excitement!

If you want to stay on Times Square, the location and rooms were a great value. The issue with this Marriott property is that the employees are more focused on policies than people. As a Titanium member, I have never been required to continue to show proof to access Club Lounge. Traveling with my family, I was informed that I could only bring one person in at a time with me. I understand that this property feels the cost of allowing more than two people in at a time will cost them too much money; however, the way they enforce this rule with effective "guards" at the entrance created a situation that I have never felt before. If accessing the benefits of your Marriot membership are important to you, know before you go to this property, this may not be the best place to stay. I voiced my opinion to several employees, who all by "rote" responded "this is a special property with special rules." I would think in the hospitality industry, the special rule should be making guests feel welcome.

Hotel is very nice. Great location. Staff has not been great. Furniture sparse. Only a desk with one office chair and a giant ottoman. No other chairs or table, so you basically have to sit on the bed the entire time. The room in the photo shows a couch and small table plus ottoman and there is plenty of room for more furniture. Wifi also blows, even if you pay extra for the upgrade. The on site tech guy didn't know how to operate Windows and the only other help available was if we called offsite tech support and were expected to spend our vacation time fixing the problem ourselves. Not exactly what I'd expect for $500 a night.

I had high hopes for this hotel but was disappointed upon arrival. The actual lobby is on the eighth floor and you must get there through a bank of elevators. No clear direction on how this operates or why the lobby is not on the first floor, but not convenient or simple to understand. Upon my arrival at the eighth floor the clerk asked if I wanted to look for an upgrade because my room only had one king bed. I found that confusing because I reserved the room and it stated it was for three people. Plus I asked originally for a view; however, the host said it was great what I had so she found me another for an additional $175 per night. Kinda seems like a bait and switch, but maybe I’m too picky. The final straw was returning to our room to find a line of people (who participated in the parade) and being told we would have to wait in line simply to get into our hotel. The hotel I paid highly for a new room. We attempted to enter another way, but was told we would have to wait in line. Several other people faced the same issue with some having mobility issues. Once we waited to get into the hotel we then had to wait to get an elevator because of the confusing layout. It was clear even though many wanted on at times they were sending up two or three at a time further delaying the process. Everyone said Happy Thanksgiving, but it seemed disappointing and a meager attempt to cover up the mess going on. In addition doors were blocked with cattle rack to prevent people from entering other doors. Not sure; however, where I come from that is considered a fire hazard. I reached out to customer service and was simply told they would notify management, which I have had no response. So overall I would never return to this establishment of this is normal. At minimum someone from management should have made an effort to reach out.

I have chosen Marriott Marquis in New York the 4th time to stay in the Big Apple. Always great experience. I was here with my family, with my little sons this time. The first big + surprise was the the room we received. It was on the 33th floor with a great view to the Times Square and to the Hudson River to the other direction. Our sons started their mornings at the glass wall and they have finished also all days with enjoying the view. Soundproofing was not 100% perfect but we did not mind it because we could have a good sleep each night. The elevators were also a great experience to our children. They really liked the view through the glass wall of the elevators. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great and also the waiters were nice and professional. The gym is big and well equipped. In addition it is possible to watch the people in the Times Square from the running machine. Nevertheless the Central Park is only 1.2 km from the hotel if I wanted to enjoy the run over there. I really liked both experiences. The subway stations east and west were really close to the hotel. We went to see to musicals on the Broadway and the theaters were just some steps from the hotel. We really enjoyed our vacation!

WARNING ⚠️ we stopped at this hotel and all seemed Ok. They take your card details when you book in even though its paid in full before hand ..when you departing you check your bill and it says £0.00 But three days later they take large amounts of money off your card with no reason..we've tried over a week now to find out why and they won't give a reason or try and help you find out ..I've now had to contact my credit card company because they max my card out ..now they are looking into it for fraud Never know anything like it
