For visiting New York pre-Christmas, the Double Tree was a Great Location. It was clean, efficient and affordable. We booked another stay and are going back again this week. I highly recommend it for visiting downtown Manhattan.

Had never stayed at this property and was pleasantly surprised. typically stay down the street at the Marriott East Side but got a much better rate here. Has the feel of a European hotel in terms of decore. rooms are actually quite large for a NYC hotel. clean, comfortable. service was very good. location is outstanding - i would stay...

This hotel has so much wrong with it....having stayed in dozens of hotels at the same price in NYC, this place doesn't compete. First off, I arrived to a huge line for check-in and throughout my two night stay, every time I walked past reception, I was greeted with long lines.....so painful. You are offered a cookie at check-in and...

Our stay was for 2 nights in mid-December. I read through many of the reviews before booking and feel the reviews accurately reflect the hotels standing. If you stay at Hiltons regularly you will most likely feel this hotel does not measure up. It is not horrible but not what you expect from this chain. I don't think they frequently...

Dear Magabi: Our hotel is typically sold out every night throughout the year, which limits early check-in. We are more than happy to provide early check-in given your room is available. The hotel was renovated in 2012 and is sits on the corner of 51st St. and Lexington Ave with rooms on floors from 2-19. It is a busy place...

Hotel was amazing- we were in a Junior Suite on the 18th floor. Super clean, excellent customer service. We didn't want or need anything and if we did the staff was more than willing to accommodate. Great location for this hotel, bar area in the lobby also great. Clean rooms and friendly staff - only complaint was that there was no coffee maker in the room and the bathtub/shower was rather small - but typical to the NYC rooms. For the price of the stay it was very worth it.

Dear Linda P: We are glad to hear you had a wonderful stay with us! Unfortunately, we do not provide coffee makers in our rooms. Coffee is available at our breakfast restaurant and with room service. Plus, there are plenty of eateries near the hotel to grab coffee at as you enjoy our city. We hope to see you again!...

This hotel is located in a great area of NYC, block from Park Ave, few blocks from Rockefeller Center. It's not in the heart of the tourist area though so it's quieter in comparison. The 6 train is located right outside the door to the hotel and it's easy to get a cab so traveling is not an issue. The...

Like most mid-town hotels in the $300-400 price range, the Doubletree is not much. The rooms are small and old, the carpeting and wallpaper are kind of frayed, the HVAC is kind of loud. The other hotels within a few blocks of this one (Waldorf, W, Marriott) all are comparable in terms of room quality. Each time I come to...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
